Chapter 8 - Curiousity

They made sure to trouble him to reveal the issue to them. Still, they were not successful in the endeavor as Mikhail was amused by their inquisitiveness and not prepared to satisfy their curiosity.

Andrea smiled as she looked out the window, watching the kids play. It was what she did most of the time. Andrea had no choice but to try and entertain herself through other people's fun.

Being the person she was, she was not allowed to go out to play or talk with anyone else since she was sixteen. This was because, at that age, most people in their can with special abilities often awakened their powers.

Knowing that she would be a danger to others if she got the power suddenly, the clan members decided to try and keep her indoors so that she wouldn't cause harm to anyone.

However, being the positive girl she was, she never got too angry or bitter. Andrea only felt that it was necessary to keep everyone safe.

For the next years, she would always stay indoors reading interesting books, and then when the evening came, she would stay and watch them from her window.

With her advanced vision, she was able to tell what was said. Long distances, and it was nice to hear the kids make jokes as they were amusing.

However, Andrea still had friends. The friends she had made when she was younger refused to give up on being friends with her, as Andrea's parents had asked.

So they usually met with Andrea secretly when her parents were not indoors. They would sneak in through the top of the building and would have a lot of fun with her.

The maids and servants were also terrified of Andrea, so they never wandered to her part of the house for fear of their lives.

This was good for Andrea as she could keep their coming a secret for a long time. The trend continued for a long time, and they were able to come twice a week.

Now Andrea knew they were coming the next day so she decided to have as much fun as she could before then.

Andrea's room had thick glasses, making it impossible to see what was happening outside.

After a few hours, the children left, and she was again alone with her books. Andrea rolled uncomfortably in bed, and she laughed sadly as she remembered the good times.

It was the time when she and her friends would always go out together, and she would spend the time trying her best to make sure they didn't get in trouble.

Andrea was loved by the villagers when she was young, and they always favored her because of her parents

Things were good for her, and it all won't go away too suddenly. It took a lot of emotional strength to remain mentally stable after all that happened and what she was now forced to go through.

After seeing the world as it was, with all its attributes and wonderful people, now she was forced to remain in her room forever.

Every morning, she would get up and sigh, knowing she would have to remain in bed for the whole day.

Andrea contemplated suicide one time, but she could not do it as she had people who would feel sad if that happened.

All of a sudden, Andrea heard a knock on the door, startling her. It was not common for her to receive visitors, and so she was amazed by her luck.

Andrea was able to tell who was at the door whenever she tried. It was part of her abilities as they had great intuition. Andrea saw it was her mother, who was now ready to see her.

The door opened after she had requested her to walk in, and her mother walked in dressed elegantly

Andrea always felt joy when she saw her mother. As a very important personality, she always dressed in a great manner.

Andrea was proud of her and all that she represented. Andrea's mother always tried her best to reassure Andrea that all would be well soon, but it was hard to believe as she felt she was trying to make her Feel better.

Andrea knew that as long as she didn't become a threat to the clan, then she would not be targeted, and that would mean that she was safe.

The only problem now was that she didn't know what she would do if she were never to awaken the powers.

There was no way to tell when she would awaken them anymore. Initially, they had all been waiting for her 16th birthday, but she was not forthcoming.

Andrea feared that she would not be able to live a normal life ever again. Many times, she would stay up all night crying and depressed.

Andrea also knew that the moment she awakened her powers, she would be forced to join the army and fight.

It wasn't a welcome thought as she didn't like violence, but she was well aware that she would be forced to do so as it meant that the clan would be in danger otherwise.

The tall woman walked in and shut the door. Afterward, she smiled at Andrea. Andrea was sure that her mother loved her but was not sure she could say the same for her Dad.

Andrea was sad when her mother told her that her father wouldn't be coming to see her in the room where she was kept as he felt it was dangerous even for him.

That statement meant that whenever anyone came into that room, their lives were in danger as they weren't sure she would have control over herself when the time came.

Andre smiled, and her mother spread her arms out to hug her. Andre smiled, and she honored herself by hugging her mother.

Andrea could feel her Mother's breathing increase rapidly. Although she was not sure what it meant, she knew she still felt uneasy when she was around her.
