Now, Captain Noname stood at a distance from the soldiers, and he held a bag whose content was unknown but similar to those carried by Jack and Santiago. He had a calm demeanour and a commanding energy. And his hat which was tilted to cast a dark shadow over his piercing blue eyes only added to his aura.
"Yerr lookin' for someone mate?" Noname asked with a thin smile.
"Well, speak of the devil, and he arrives! Finally, I get to meet you; Captain Noname, the one who tries to run faster than his own shadow." The leading soldier remarked on sighting his adversary, but Captain Noname rather replied with a very sarcastic...
"Oh, please stop it; you're making me blush!... " Immediately, the soldier's expression turned serious, and Noname's demeanour followed suit. " ... *sigh* Just tell me what you want!"
"I want you Noname! And of course, the stolen money from our island's treasury."
"You want me?!!... Hold up!.... Are you ga..?"
"Stop beating around the bush and surrender now Noname!" The leader responded with a furious rush of impatience.
"Huuhm... " Noname let out a sigh. "...Alright . . .
.... I surrender! "
"WHAT!! !! " Santiago and Jack simultaneously exclaimed surprised.
"Captain! What is the meaning of this?..." Jack ranted in utmost rage. "... Don't tell me that we came all the way here and passed through all the trouble in looting... just to be... Arrested!!? "
'^No, this has never happened before; we've never been caught for once in any of our numerous heists... the captain's plans have always gone smoothly, so if he should be on the verge of being captured and he gives in so easily, then ..... this is all part of his plan! ..... I just hope his crazy plans go well this time around.... No, I'm certain it will! After all, it has been his crazy plans that have gotten us this far and famous in the world of piracy. But just what is he up to this time around? ^' Santiago thought deeply within himself as he too stared at his captain in a bit of surprise.
"It's alright Jack, . . . " Captain Noname replied to his crew member. " ...I've always known that this day would come, just that I least expected our end to be in the hands of some petty island army. Please, let us return their money, after all, we came without expecting a fight; we have no defense, and therefore, have got nothing on them." Captain Noname deceptively beckoned on Jack, who was still ignorant of the Captain's mysterious plan.
"Well, you heard him right... " the leader of the group hesitantly said to Jack and Santiago, who slowly dropped their bags at their feet and raised up their hands in surrender.
The leading soldier was a bit surprised by their submissive gestures and thought doubtfully; '^Th....they are really giving in! .... Does that mean I finally did it, I finally had luck on my side and captured the fastest-rising pirate of this era?.... but why so easy?, Could this be some sort of trap?.... considering how mischievous these pirates are, I still have to tread carefully!^'
...Noname then took a step towards the group, but the leading soldier swiftly pointed his rifle towards him with a firm and furious grip on the gun... "STOP RIGHT THERE!" He yelled.
"What? Didn't you say you want your money back?".
" I still don't trust you.... Just toss the bag over! ..."
And with a sly smirk, Captain Noname quickly threw the bag of loot in the direction of the group. One of them, who suddenly anticipated an easy catch, stretched out an arm to grab it, but, however, in a flash, Noname drew out a hidden pistol and fired the bag.
"BANG!"
A loud explosion resounded in the air, and in an instant, the bag exploded open, causing a scattered roll of shiny, polished silver coins to forcefully burst out of the bag... It was then that the truth of the bag's content was revealed. . .
Captain Noname had cleverly filled his bag with a mixture of silver coins and gunpowder! *** Noname knew that, though they had a high chance of success, anything was bound to happen. He had wanted this particular operation to go quietly and quickly; without a hitch or waking the whole island, but he also had in mind that even a little 10% < Ten percent> chance of failure could elevate far beyond his expectations. He suspected that if their presence as pirates on the island was noticed, they would be, without a doubt, confronted in a large number, and the only way to defeat these numerous opps so easily would be to make them lose their guard and, somehow, falter their physical strength and stance. The bullet, just as Noname had planned, struck a random coin in the bag, creating a spark to ignite the gunpowder and causing a huge explosion!
The soldiers, who had been expecting an easy surrender, were now caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events. Santiago and Jack were equally astonished by this very act. ***
The soldiers, at that point, had totally lost their balance; First of all, the explosion had coins forcefully flying out in all directions, these coins had the speed of a bullet and acted like one, as they shot dead, the soldiers who were very close to the money bag. Secondly, the explosion was at a close proximity to the soldiers, causing their senses to be altered; The loud explosive sound made them partially deaf, and their ears were ringing from the intense noise. Their vision too was blurred out by the explosive force, and the scattered polished silver coins that reflected the bright light from the torches only seemed to amplify the visual chaos as they wailed in despair.
Seizing the opportunity, Captain Noname, with great speed, dashed towards the army and disarmed one of the soldiers with a powerful punch that sent the soldier flying and crashing into a considerable distance away. Captain Noname then wielded the gun and used its stock to engage the remaining soldiers in a fierce battle. With a ruthless efficiency did he beat and pound them, and the men, who were no match for Captain Noname's skill in the use of weapons, were all defeated, and in the next second, found themselves lying helplessly on the floor, in pain and groaning, some left dead!
"You know, there is a saying that goes - 'Every day for the thief, one day for the owner.' ..... Honestly, I wonder when the owners will realise that they're the ones at loss!" Captain Noname humorously remarked, causing Santiago to chuckle a bit, but Jack, on the other hand, was getting none of it; he picked up his loot and spoke up angrily—
"You should have at least given us a warning beforehand that we would be preparing for a fight!"
"What can i say Jack? Some things just happen unexpectedly.... I only prepared on my own so as to be on the safest side."
'^Then I hope you're also prepared for the consequences of going against your own plan and making this a loud heist!^'
"Alright, let's check on Louis. "Another member of the crew whose full name was Louis Louis."..." Noname suggested. "... He should have arrived with our carriage by now."
Just as they were about to depart, Louis appeared on the scene with transportation, but it was not the typical carriage they had expected; it wasn't even a carriage, it was a cart pulled by two sturdy cattle.
Jack raised an eyebrow in surprise as he took in the sight. "Really, Louis? Cattle?"
"What did you expect? A pegasus?..." Louis retorted. " ... This was the best I could find, so let's make do with it, and we need to move quickly; The island's defence has awakened!"
