Chapter 6 - BRIDGET AND EDWARD BOWMAN

The powerful Pittsburgh crime family, with Edward Bowman and all the people who work for him, traveled to Corleone - Italy and this trip is on business. While Edward was happy about the trip he was taking and making more money, thanks to the godfather, money laundering, bully and drug dealer, in Cape May, New Jersey, things were not looking good for Bridget. By the time, Bridget was able to get out of bed, get dressed, and walk out onto the street for help. She felt how everything hurt and that she had no strength for anything, but she knew that she had to make the last attempt to ask for help. Bridget, managed to leave the house, and immediately went for help, and luckily for Bridget, Giovanna Bellucci, who did not hesitate to stop the car, passed by just at that moment to help her. While in the car, Giovanna was scared to see her friend in poor condition, who did not know how she should react. The first reaction he had was to help Bridget and he did. She helped her into the car and immediately took her to New Jersey Presbyterian Hospital and as soon as they saw her, she was rushed to the emergency room. While the doctors took Bridget away for surgery, Giovanna went to the reception, to pay for her friend's expenses. The doctors, began carefully to examine her entire body, and noticed that, she had both internal and external injuries, and decided to operate on her. At the time, they were treating her, the doctors saw on the monitors that Bridget was dying; so, they started doing everything they could to revive her and after ten minutes, Bridget came back to life and they continued to operate on her.

At that moment, Bridget's operation, while she was fighting for her life, the doctors were doing everything so that she did not die. Among the doctors who were treating her were Bridget's and Jeremy's brothers, who are, in turn, Skokie's uncles. Peter, Sergei, Antonio and Marlon are excellent doctors and they know exactly how to save lives, without harming patients and that is why, for high risk operations, everyone always takes them into account. Bridget's operation lasted all day and, that day, was the most intense and stressful, for all the doctors, who were operating on her and doing everything humanly possible; so that, Bridget did not die. It was night when the doctors finished operating on her and left her in internal care, until further notice. "Hello, little sister. Can you tell us what happened to him? Why did you bring her in such a dilapidated state?" Marlon asked, not understanding what happened to Bridget. "Hello, brothers and brothers-in-law. I just found her in that state when I found her outside her house," Giovanna said, incredulous for not understanding what had happened to Bridget. "Hello, sister-in-law. Don't you know what happened to her? Because she almost died in the operating room," said Sergei. "I have no idea. On the way from her house to here, she kept spitting blood and screaming from the pain she felt and that's why we couldn't talk about it. How is Bridget?" asked Giovanna. "Sister-in-law, Bridget is going to be in intensive care, for a week and after that, if she reacts well, she will be in a room and if she does not react at all favorable, we have to operate on her again," said Marlon, concerned about Bridget's condition. "Let's not get ahead of anything and see how Bridget reacts, before making any decisions, okay?" said Peter, trying to calm everyone down including him, after having had such a stressful day like the one they just had. A second operation was not necessary, because Bridget reacted favorably and they only transferred her to a room. Slowly, Bridget began to recover from the heavy blows that Edward Bowman had given her. Peter, Sergei, Antonio, Marlon and Giovanna, told her that she had to report her husband or the person who did this to her, to pay for this abuse and Bridget said that she was not going to do any of this and that they would forget what happened. Before long, Bridget went home and they all pretended nothing had happened, because they knew they couldn't force patients to say something they didn't want to say. A month later, Edward Bowman returned, full of money, with a new look and more feared than before. He apologized to Bridget for having mistreated her and swore that the same thing would never happen again and they reconciled and did not have any kind of confrontation again.
