----------------

Today, was my last day of school. Aside from the usual glaze from being an academy player from my classmates. The day went as normal, my friends were disappointed.

Well, I wasn't their friend but I couldn't remain lonely in school for the entire time. And I was not going to be friends with fucking teachers.

Even though people who play for youth teams aren't allowed to play for any other team, like Saturday or Sunday clubs they are allowed to play football for their school, for me, this was kind of annoying because I wasn't allowed to get any training from anyone else except from that youth team.

I one time considered leaving but thank god I didn't because the offer from PXG was invaluable. I should also thank god for making me come to this world.

I was currently inside the changing rooms for my school. Funny enough, the last day of school was also a football match. It wasn't like some kind of championship for nationals just a normal match so the steaks weren't that high.

The embarrassment that I gave to the opposition teams and even my team was insane. I swear that even an academy defender could play better attacking than most of the attackers on my team. I didn't mind their bad play because, after all, they didn't have the drive to go pro.

Putting on my shin pads and pulling up my socks, I stepped out of the changing room into the football field.

Remember when I said my team wasn't exactly the best? There was one player who I thought could potentially make it pro. His dedication and skills were even on par with me. His main weapon was his lightning-fast dribbling.

He was kind of short but don't take his short stature for weakness, his physicality is nothing to laugh at. He could sneak in between blind spots. His swift dribbling and movements were mesmerizing, he occasionally got past me as well.

Not to mention his shot accuracy was not missing, I almost wanted to sign him up for the youth team. He was a literal gold-mine but the only bad thing about him is that he dribbles a bit too much.

As I approached the football field and the other team got on too, the game started and I was excited for my last day at this school.

The star boy of our team started with the ball and passed it to me. Everyone knew I was trustworthy while playing under pressure. As usual, the opposite starts with aggressive play to make me uncomfortable, this is all child's play to me.

I swiftly got passed one of them by doing a body feint and a nutmeg, I think it is some kind of law or restrictions pin lace by football players that you must pause when you get nutmegged. Just like a second to sink in the embarrassment.

I focused back on the match and saw one of the players open, he clearly didn't want the ball but what was the point of playing this match just for the sake of playing? Even so, I trusted him enough to make a clear decision to pass the ball to another person.

The other team was in shambles after one simple move I made. Due to that one player stopping it would provide a lot of opportunities for me since I was way above this level.

I know it sounds a bit cocky but when you are being scouted to play for a top-level team, you can't help but fill a bit boastful.

The player passed the ball back to me, a surprising but not a bad move. I saw another one approaching me but a la croqueta sent him looking the other way. I passed the ball to the star-boy.

His name was Dori but I preferred to call him star-boy because he is an incredible player who was well-rounded in every aspect of this sport.

As soon I saw I passed it to him, I relaxed and watched the show as he proceeded to dribble past the entire team of defenders and midfielders alike. After getting past the keeper he chipped it neatly into the goal and started to celebrate with the team.

I hoped he made it pro because it would be a shame for such a talent not to be recognised or even seen in this world. I could give him the formula to meta-vision but it may not be enough to get him signed up.

Maybe a letter of recommendation should do, I wanted to play with him on the team. Like the Loki and Charles duo. I would need a weapon that could take the best of out me like a pet that I could control at any time.

Plus, I didn't want to have a boring time at PXG, I knew that Charles would be there meaning that he could be so useful in his passing and maybe dribbling but I wanted someone who could challenge me instead of just gifting me.

The relationship between Kaiser and Ness (I'm not talking about the emotions and stuff but the on-field relationship) where Ness passed the ball to Kaiser and he scored. It was so basic and would take the entire joy out of playing the game.

I wanted someone who could be like a rival but also someone who could assist me and score as well. That boring type of football that the European teams had incorporated inside of them needed to stop.

I slapped myself out of my thoughts with a quick conclusion. I would use meta-vision the entire time and dominate the field. Then go to him and give him the theory (let's hope he can figure it out) then he can figure out how to get into a pro-team.

As the ball was played by the opposition team (since we scored) they decided to do a bit of tiki-taka. For those unfamiliar with the term it means that they passed the ball pretty much as soon as they got the ball. It was also a good and nice way of playing football.

You see most of this in more youth teams than professional games. I feel like the pros are not even playing for anything else but the money. You know you are going wrong when you think of the sport as a job.

The plan of passing the ball didn't last long as when they got near our goal they lost the ball. We proceeded to hit them with the same medicine the tiki-taka until I got the ball.

I decided to switch things up a little bit and do a long pass to one of my teammates, a winger by the way. I knew his pace would bring us near the penalty box because that was the way he operated. He was all alone in the box so he would try to score a wondergoal either way he would speed up the pace of the team.

After the team accelerated their pace I went back. There was a 15% chance that this opportunity would go in. So that is why I was waiting for the counter-attack from the opposing team. I knew that they would use it against us so I would be waiting.

A few seconds later I can already see the ball rushing towards me. It was a rushed clearance from the defender. I sent it to the area and controlled it. Even though they hadn't done a counter-attack it was all the same to me. I wanted to score a goal.

I entered their side of the field and started dribbling past them using meta-vision to gauge how they would move against me. As said previously it was a watered-down version of Messi's version. I will repeat it. Messi was able to use meta-vision on his opponents to gauge where his opponents move, not like in what direction but like the feints they would use and even their hand movements. He was able to do this to all the players on the opposing team while on the ball. Meaning that every single feint and movement by the opposing team was being monitored. I could use that ability but only on one or two people at a time. I would have to shift to who was coming at me after getting past one player.

It was still kind of useful in most situations but I would have to improve it.

I scored the goal and celebrated with my team. Now I could fully say that my progress wasn't only in meta-vision, no one could call me a meta-vision abuser or a fraud (yet).

The game ended I was very happy with the results. I dominated the game and I would go to Dori and start talking with him.

"Good game out there kid," I said to him.

"You do know we are the same age," he smartly remarked back. If this was on a text or something I would have put a nerd emoji on him.

"My performance out there says otherwise… kid," I said back.

"What exactly do you want Isagi," Dori said switching back seriously. I went up close to him showing him who was the alpha (I am taller).

"Well considering how this was my last game and also probably my last time seeing you, I just wanted to say that you played an incredible match!"

"After the first goal, I barely touched the ball you went up to score 9 goals in that game, don't think you think you are doing too much?"

"You are right, I did dominate the pitch but only because of a certain ability, and no it isn't to do with my football or athletic ability."

He seemed a bit shocked at my words, from the surface I was an incredible player who could dribble and score a lot of goals. But of course, this was only the surface and the theory you could say was far more complicated.

But soon enough his brain started to shift its gears to come off with a reasonable answer.

"Any answer you are thinking of maybe close but ultimately incorrect," I said in a serious tone.

"And how would you know that, Isagi?"

I dodged his question and instead opted to tell him about meta-vision.

"The ability I have is what I call meta-vision and it spans from using your peripheral vision to scan the pitch. Most people are only able to see what their eyes are focusing on and not the side areas. Just think of it like seeing the blurred edges of your vision to see," I explained.

"How exactly is this the reason you can dominate the pitch? This just can't add up. The ability to sense where the ball is going and also read plays can't only be done by using the vision that your eyes blur."

"You are right, it is only the foundation the next level would be creating a mental map inside of your brain to use that but I'm telling you now that ability alone can get you to the world stage."

"I'll think about it, you've given me a lot to think about."

"Take it from someone who is getting signed by PXG. When you realize the value of this wait for me on the Japanese team."

Before he could have the chance to say anything else smart or like a snappy question. I dashed off home. I would have to get my bags packed and get ready for my plane tomorrow.

"Why would you trust such a valuable technique to a random kid on the streets," I was abruptly stopped by a middle-aged man.

I couldn't tell how he was. Only that he was middle-aged. I'll be honest people in their 30s or 40s legit look the same to me. Take that from someone who has meta-vision. (I'm so funny). His hair was jet black and his skin was tanned. Even behind that tight suit, I could see from the way he stood that he had a fair bit of built-up muscle.

"Erm.. who exactly even are you?"

"Do you know that even the top players on our team don't have that ability," he disregarded my question and prompted instead to continue with his talking.

"Surprising that you know meta-vision from a brief description that I gave. So I'll ask again, who exactly are you?"

"You should be the one answering my questions kid, do you know how valuable that technique is."

Now that I had a closer look at his face I realized that he wasn't Japanese but looked like he was from the West (in my old life I was too) but not American or anything he looked European. Maybe I'm being biased because of his tan, but my point remained the same.

"If that was the case then why don't you just say what I said to your top players? I'm sure telling them to use the blind spots in their eyes to predict plays and control the tempo of the pitch."

"After you gave proof to back up what you said he is sure to activate it. It's not like how you describe it. The top players lack the creativity to think that they can become like those who have it."

"In case your old ass ears weren't working, I said that I wanted him on the Japanese national team,"

"Hn."

"Isn't it crazy how a middle-aged man is spying on a bunch of little children?"

"Crazily enough that is a pretty fit description for my job."

It was only now that I realized who he was. I was only now thinking of how dumb I was. I should have been clocked when his eyes weren't triangles.

"I'm guessing you are PxG scout for young players, came to see me play one more game before leaving huh?"

"Let's not divert the subject."

"Why do you care so much anyway? It's not that deep, what if he doesn't even listen to me?"

"You having this ability makes it good for me but if you are spreading this then that means there are a lot of hidden gems in this country after all! I knew ever since La Real recruited that Itoshi guy that there would be a lot more diamonds here!"

"Not exactly, I haven't been spreading anything, I just saw talent in him," I said while smirking.

"And not in the actual youth team players?"

"I look into potential," I said.

We had a reasonably good relationship before he had to part ways. I now confirmed that youth scouts had meta-vision. I swear this ability was becoming more and more common everywhere.

At this point, a random homeless man might possess the ability as well. I would need to work on my ego and adaptability. I think those were more passive abilities that I couldn't work on but who knows?

I headed home fairly happy with today. Scoring 9 goals and meeting with the scout who sent me to PXG. What was there not to be happy about?
