Max always wanted to travel to a fantasy world to be an adventurer, so that he can go on many adventures with his party, which is also his harem, all female party anime shi...
I is his dream, though it wasn't the same in the beginning, but then he discovered anime which ruined his teenage mind.
He still remember how he sneaks around to watch anime after long and painful days of training, those fantasy world his escape from reality and he just so loved all those adventures he watched.
At that time, he always over estimated himself, thinking that if he get the chance of Isekai or something, he will breeze through a fantasy world.
But it was only when he arrived here and spend a couple of months that he realized how naive he truly was.
A fantasy world was beautiful, yes. It has all those things he read or watched about, there are demons, elfs, drawfs and magic but it is so much more than just that.
Everything is not always sunshine and rainbow, and Max learned that the hard way as he saw the darkness under the magic civilization.
First, there was slavery. Max hated it. People in chains, treated like objects. It made him sick and remind him of his past back in his world, through he wasn't chained and was given all the necessities, he knows that no one considers his life of value there.
Then there were wars. Kingdoms fighting each other for land, gold, or just stupid grudges and all it was just death and destruction.
Even food wasn't as abundeny as he thought. Fancy and good food was only for the nobles. Most people ate stale bread or nothing at all.
But all of these weren't even the biggest threat in this world, what he find the most challenging was Magic itself.
For someone like him who can't be a magician till he completes the mission, even the weakest magician with only a fireball spell is as dangerous as facing a dragon.
That's why, he maintained a low profile and thankfully even got Wood rank talent which is second best however, it seems he was out of luck as his counterpart was insanely stronger than him.
That was why, in a last ditch effort, he travelled to the death valley which is said to have a legendary sword and hoped that he will able to use it to kill him but...
Max's breathes as hard as he could while he fought his way through the Death Valley as he thought back to the moment where he take this worst decision of coming here.
Looking around, all he saw was just Monsters. They were everywhere, from big ones, to small ones, all having a single goal to tear his body apart and kill him.
However, even though he knew that there was a huge chance that he might not survive to see the next day, Max still swung his sword wildly, just so he could kill more of those or some miracle might happen.
A giant ogre roared and slammed its club into the ground, nearly crushing Max who just rolled away just in time, but the impact left him shaking.
His sword hit the ogre's arm, but it didn't even leave a scratch making him aware of the fact how weak he was in a magical world.
It just make him wonder how someone could survive in a world like these and comeback with abilities with no powers, and also made him understand why survive rate is so low.
"Damn it!" he muttered, sweat dripping down his face as he ran a bit before taking his stance again as more monsters came at him.
Wolves with glowing red eyes lunged at him, a giant snake hissed with purple fangs fangs probably filled with poison, and even flying creatures which look like eagle from above attacked him.
One of the wolves bit into his arm, making him cry out in pain but he still fought back against it.
He bashed its skull with the hilt of his sword until it let go, but the damage was already done as he started to loose blood like crazy.
Looking at the blood that dripped from his wounds, Max just closed his eyes and felt his arms which felt like lead as he dropped to one knee, gasping for air while is vision started to get blurry.
'This is it,' he thought looking at even more monsters coming towards him. "I'm really going to die here." He muttered, feeling that he has tried his best and it was time to give up.
Yes, he had talent, however it seems that luck factor was against him and what he was up against was an actual beast, and sometimes, talent too is beaten in front of power.
'And it seems, I will be on the loosing end here,' Max thought with one last chuckle as he prepared for his death but just then...
The air around him started to grow colder and colder and a strange mist rolled in, covering the entirely of valley floor and max just blinked his eyes once only to see water surging toward him like a tidal wave.
However, even though he panicked and thought of escaping, he water split open before he could even react and completely ignored him and flowed towards the monsters.
The monsters howled and screeched when they saw the water coming towards them as they tried to run from it, but the waves just rushed and crashed down on them giving them no such chance to escape.
The water glowed faintly, as if it was alive or under manipulation as it grabbed the monsters, dragging them under. Their cries were silenced one by one as they died from lack of air or being crushed under pressure.
As Max stared, a massive shadow with wings appeared appeared in the mist. 'A dragon? Or is that some kind of huge bird?' he thought, trying to the figure from the outline through the mist.
However, he wasn't able to know for sure because of the mist and as the mist continue to clear, he was able to a huge bird, with feather that looked as strong as a dragon's scale, shimmering like liquid silver, emerged from the water.
Its glowing blue eyes locked onto him making him rooted on his place an even made him forgot about the terrible pain he was feeling on his arm.
With a powerful roar, the bird shot a beam of water from its mouth, sweeping away the last of the monsters completely viping out the threat as the valley fell in silence.
The mist began to fade, and the huge bird hovered above Max, its massive wings beating softly and on his back, Max saw a figure he was far to familiar with, not to recognise.
"It's good to see you alive, Max..."
"What are you doing here?!"
