Just two days earlier, the wedding preparations were in full swing, people were coming in and out of the compound, everyone busy with one thing or the other.
Inside, Queen sits with a woman with a pixie cut.
"Miss Ari, it has to be beautiful. My son is getting married. There must not be any issues with deigns or even things like electricity or anything at all. All of my guests will be fed properly and taken care of. Is that taken?"
"Certainly. You have been telling me this from day one, why will I choose to fail now when the wedding is just two days away?"
Queen chuckles. "I just can't afford to have things go wrong."
Eric walks into the living room and leans on the door post, watching his mother.
"Oh, Eric, do you want to come inside?"
He nods and comes inside. "I actually wanted to see you. I hope you won't mind excusing us, Miss Ari?"
"Sure. Madam Walter, I'll have everything well done, don't be worried about anything going out of place."
Queen nods as she waves her out, before her soft gaze returns to her son. "What is this about? You seem tense. Is it because your younger brother is getting married before you?"
Eric chuckles. "I wish that's what I'm worried about. I have something to tell you."
"Go ahead."
"I want to marry her."
Queen looks lost for a second. "Marry who?"
"Campbell. Mina Campbell."
Queen is completely confused and unsure of what to do or say.
"I'll explain everything. That day she had come here for the checking, I'm still going to talk to you about that later, but I had a situation. I ended up spending the night with her."
"I knew about that."
Eric frowns. "You knew? And yet you want her to marry Ethan?"
"I want Susan to marry Ethan, and then, maybe you two can work out your differences."
Eric smiles, relieved. "But how do you know that Ethan will marry Susan? If the family can swap out daughters for the checking, what is to say they will not swap them again for the wedding? You know how cunning they are in that family."
That sentence gets Queen thinking. "You have a point. Where is Ethan anyway? I need to tell him he won't be the one getting married anymore."
"I don't know, I haven't seen him all morning. Oh, he said he was going out yesterday night. I haven't seen him since then."
"Okay, I'll see him when he arrives. What if they end up bringing Susan to the wedding?"
"We'll be ready for whatever trick they try to pull, although I am a thousand percent sure that it will be Mina at the wedding not their actual daughter."
"Why are you so sure?"
He presents pictures to his mother. "I had her followed and pretty much got some information on everything that has been going on. They had her kidnapped ad is currently in lock up. I'll save her from those snakes she thinks are family members."
Queen peruses the pictures one after the other and her mouth keeps widening. "This is just plain evil. I knew Greta Campbell is capable of bad things but this is just going overboard. You know what, make sure you have your clothing ready, I'll pull some strings and have the marriage document names changed in time for the wedding."
"Alright Mum. Since you'll be busy, I'll let Ethan know the new updates."
"Okay darling. I hope you are making the right decision."
"I am, Mum, I know I am."
Eric exits the room, feeling elated. That sneaky woman will be his, forever.
