Chapter 10 - //10// Fight is good

"What?" Cian was surprised to see someone like Darcy terrified. He could see sweat on Darcy's neck and his widened eyes had a terrified expression. Erin suddenly became interested in the conversation when she heard the name "witches." She stood up from her position and came forward. "Can I see?" she asked. Darcy nodded and lifted his hand, indicating for her to hold it. She deliberately grabbed it and closed her eyes.

Suddenly, she shook her hands. Her expression was terrified too, and her eyes were widened. She gulped and continued, "They should die…." She closed her eyes and recollected the scene. That man in a doctor's coat had a hot iron rod in his hands. In front of him, a shabby boy with his upper body naked was kneeling. His skin had tens of burn marks. They were inside a cave now. Every time the man applied the rod to the boy, he screamed in pain. Even though they couldn't hear it, each scream sent goosebumps through Erin's body. Her eyes watered. The boy was powerless in front of those people, having surrendered and lost his soul in their eyes. He cried in agony, but despite the stinking, burned skin, that witch didn't even flinch. The more the boy screamed, the better he felt.

Erin clenched her fist. Even though the situation wasn't similar to hers, she could remember the pain the boy must have been experiencing. Her own wounds were reopening. "Looks like she does have emotions like empathy," Darcy thought.

"Ummm... shall we go finish them?"

"3... 2... 1... thud." That cloak guy counted off. "Mmm... he died after 30 seconds... as expected." He said, looking at some papers. His expression was calm, as if this was nothing to him. His white coat was drenched in fresh blood. His dark eyes showed no sorrow. He sighed, sliding his purple hair. "Man... we should have been more brutal. This much data isn't enough. Any idea, Mabel?"

That big guy looked at him and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm bored."

"Lol," Rish said.

The coat guy looked at him and raised his eyebrows. "Are you sure about it, Rish?"

"Yeah, I am."

"What are you sure of?"

Suddenly, they heard a high-pitched voice coming from the back. Mabel and Rish looked back, finding an ink-haired girl holding a sword and challenging them.

"She must be from the Southern Duchy," Rish commented, looking at her red eyes. Just next to her, another five people were catching their breath.

"Are these guys tired?" Rish questioned Erin. She nodded. "They are weak in stamina."

He looked at them with pity, sighed, and offered them a strange drink. "Here, this will help you," he said with a pitiful smile.

"What's with that pitiful look?" Cian growled. "And Fireball, how can you just reveal your team's weakness to others?"

"O..."

"Man, at least show some guilt."

Cian smacked his forehead. Darcy and Tiera exchanged glances and sighed. Erin tightened her grip on the sword hilt. "Fight me," she said. Her eyes were sharp, and some kind of anger was flowing from her.

"Well, we're outnumbered," Rish said to Mabel. His tone was still relaxed. "Can you handle it?"

"We'll see."

Mabel unsheathed his long and broad sword, ready to fight. Tiera, the brunette, also tried to join the action but was stopped by Erin. "It's my fight. You guys handle the purple-head."

Erin went straight for his neck. Her injuries had been completely healed by Cian. Mabel, as a skilled fighter, dodged and attacked her lower waist. She dodged it, but just at that moment, Erin was struck by a kick to the legs, making her fall to the ground.

"You fight as if there are only certain taught moves," Mabel grinned, mocking her.

Erin's lack of experience and book-taught knowledge wasn't enough to defeat him. She knew this fact when he directly attacked her head. Though she blocked his sword, his strength was enormous. Her eyes started to turn red as she enhanced her strength using Raisis.

Meanwhile, the others watched. "Their fight is good," Rish commented, keeping his hands in his pockets. Darcy nodded.
