Liam looked out at the crowd of fans with a faint smile, waving cheerfully. He had just stepped into the arrivals area of Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), and a warm welcome from fans and media was already greeting him, as if he couldn't wait to see him. His fans are not only scattered in China. But also in various parts of the world, from Asia, America, to mainland Europe, and including Milan.
"Where is he?" Liam whispered softly to his personal assistant, Lily. "Who?" Lily asked, her voice sounding hoarse and low.
Lily took Liam's hand and distanced him from the crowd of fans who couldn't wait to get closer, as if to touch the star. Even though the security, including Lei, Hao, and airport security, had set clear boundaries to keep their distance, the situation was still completely uncontrollable.
"That bodyguard," Liam replied, his voice a little loud, a little annoyed. He did not expect the situation to turn out like this. However, he was still forced to smile, though it was far from his sweetest smile. Without feeling it, he waved cheerfully at his fans.
"Oh, Shawn Luo." Lily replied as she stepped forward casually. "We'll meet him in a bit." She continued her sentence without giving Liam a chance to ask again.
Eventually, they made their way out of the crowd, entering a special area that was only accessible to certain people. Liam was supposed to have Exclusive Arrival Halls, so he didn't have to join the other passengers and of course, the crowd of fans. However, due to the agency's request, he had to meet his fans, even if only for a few moments.
"Ah, I can finally move freely!" Liam breathed a sigh of relief, striding casually with both hands stuffed into his trouser pockets.
His appearance was indeed very relaxed, wearing casual trousers, a t-shirt, and a light jacket. Even so, the starry aura surrounding him could not be hidden. In fact, he prefers to look as he is when he is not under the demands of work.
"Liam, it looks like it's Shawn!" Lily grabbed his arm and pointed towards a man standing not far from them. Liam paused for a moment, his eyes scanning the man.
"Damn it!" cursed Liam inwardly, annoyed when he saw the figure Lily was referring to standing in front of a luxury boutique of a famous brand.
The man had an Asian face, his body was tall and slender, wearing a casual suit that looked so charming. His long black hair up to the nape of his neck was slightly wavy, coupled with a handsome face that captivated the attention of anyone who looked at him. Liam knew that the man, Shawn Luo, was a figure that could not be underestimated.
"It's true that you have an Asian face, Lukas Ge. Not intimidating to me or the stalkers, but very intimidating to my career," Liam inwardly cursed, clearly directed at his manager, Lukas Yang.
"Miss Lily!" The man waved and walked over to them.
Liam cursed inwardly again. He could not deny that, despite his casual walk, his new bodyguard's figure was absolutely charming. Even more charming than the models who used to strut on the catwalk. The feeling left his flabbergasted, and his heart beat faster inexorably.
"Hello Mr Luo!" Lily greeted the man in a friendly manner. A sweet smile graced her face, which Liam thought was so sweet-too sweet. She extended her hand, which was immediately welcomed by Shawn.
They shook hands, introducing themselves with professionalism.
"Ah, Liam! This is Mr Shawn Luo, the person Lukas Ge asked to look after your security while in Milan," Lily introduced them with pleasantries, which to Liam felt like a very clichéd conversation.
"Hello Mr Wang, I hope we can work well together." Shawn extended a hand. But Liam only glanced at him with a cold gaze that was hard to hide. "Hello Lao Luo!" he replied casually, half-mockingly.
For a moment, Lily, Lei, Hao, and even Shawn were silent, stunned. It was obvious that they knew what was coming. The Blue Ice Prince seemed to be making trouble again, and usually it would lead to quite a troublesome mess.
"By the way, where's Mr Chou?" asked Liam, trying to be casual as he stepped faster, ahead of them. Shawn only smiled slightly, discouraging him from shaking Liam's hand. With his long legs, Shawn easily caught up with Liam's pace.
"He's in the rest room!" Shawn replied, also casually. "He'll catch up soon." Without feeling intimidated by Liam's nonchalance, Shawn stuffed his hands into his trouser pockets.
Lei and Hao followed them from behind, walking on the right and left sides of the two men. While Lily kept walking casually behind them, accompanied by Jennie, one of the staff who came along. The rest of the staff had to handle their luggage first and bring it to the hotel for the convenience of the star, who didn't want to be bothered with his belongings giving her a headache.
"Jie, they look good together," Jennie whispered to Lily as she pointed at the two men walking side by side in front of them. Lily was silent for a moment, watching Liam and Shawn. Inwardly, she agreed with Jennie's words, although she only smiled slightly.
The two men did look good together. From their almost the same height, to their matching style of clothes. Anyone who saw them would say that the two of them were a very attractive couple.
Now, the two men walked hand in hand, each with a different mind. Liam still felt uncomfortable with Shawn as his new bodyguard. He found it hard to believe that this man beside him was really a bodyguard, just like Lei and Hao.
Meanwhile, Shawn saw Liam in a different way. The famous Blue Ice Prince turned out to be far different from what he imagined. The figure of a womaniser, who, according to Shawn, was nothing more than a boy who sulked easily.
"Shawn Ge, are you really a bodyguard?" Liam suddenly asked after a few moments of awkward silence.
"Do I look like a model, Mr. Wang?" replied Shawn with a chuckle. Liam glanced at him sharply, making Shawn's laughter even louder. "Mr.Wang, I was just following Mr Lukas' instructions. According to him, his favourite star doesn't want a bodyguard who looks like a walking fortress," he explained casually.
Liam cursed inwardly again. Luke was again the target of his anger. It was true, Shawn didn't look at all like a walking fortress like Lei and Hao did. Shawn Luo, when walking with him, looked more like his mate. A mate? Aiyo, Liam went back to his muddled thoughts.
"Shawn!" Someone called out from a distance, waving vigorously. Shawn laughed softly and glanced at Liam who was still indifferent. "It's Mr Chou," he said quietly. Liam just smiled sarcastically and glanced back at Shawn.
"Hello, Mr Wang, Miss Tang! I'm sorry, there was a little trouble earlier," Mr Chou said as he approached them at a brisk pace. His smile was friendly, though there was a hint of nervousness on his face. His neat blue suit looked impeccable, giving the impression of a professional who was always ready to deal with important clients.
Lily, who was already familiar with their co-operation, immediately greeted him. "No problem, Mr Chou. Let's go to the hotel so Liam can rest first," she said with a warm smile. Without hesitation, she embraced Mr Chou's arm, showing the familiarity that had developed between them over the years.
Liam followed behind them, remaining silent while adjusting his pace. The look in his eyes was cold, reflecting the fatigue and irritation he had been enduring since arriving in Milan. He wasn't the type of person who was happy with a polite welcome, especially after a long journey.
Shawn Luo walked next to Liam, keeping slightly behind the pair. He gave Liam a quick glance, then shook his head with a faint smile that was hard to interpret. It was as if he clearly read what was on the young star's mind.
Liam glanced back, raising his eyebrows with a flat expression. However, he chose not to say anything. "Weird bodyguard," he thought to himself.
Shawn did have a different aura-too relaxed for someone who was supposed to keep his clients safe. Even in casual clothes, Shawn looked striking, like a model who happened to stray into their group.
In the distance, a staff member was seen waving, calling out to Mr Chou in a rather loud voice. Shawn immediately turned his head in the direction of the voice, but did not leave his position near Liam. Instead, he just smiled a little and nodded briefly.
Liam looked at him with an unpredictable look, before walking back to follow Lily and Mr Chou who were starting to move away. Silently, he realised something that was nagging at his mind. There was something about Shawn Luo-something that made him feel like Shawn was more than just an ordinary bodyguard.
Even so, he pushed his thoughts aside and chose to focus on the next step, arriving at the hotel and quickly getting away from the chaos of the day. Shawn, on the other hand, continued to walk quietly by his side, keeping a polite distance without losing his guard. Quite an interesting introduction to the first day in Milan.
