Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2 - Soleil's life

Scene started in a hospital. A silence break when a women voice heard, "Doctor...when will she woke up?" She is a mother who is desperate for her child.

"Ma'am, we had no idea, as her head injury is severe its less chance of her to woke up from coma. And what I can do is only can provide Medicine and can monitor on her condition." Doctor said and left. The mother fell down on ground, burst out crying her cry fill the hallway. Other nurses, patients looking at her, pitying on her condition. Few people providing her comfort trying to calm her down. Getting her up on the chair, trying to comfort her. Soon her husband come, he gave her comforting shoulder, trying his best to calm her down.

Inside the room, a teenage girl lay motionless on the bed, her face pale against the stark white of the sheets. The name on the medical file beside her read 'Soleil'. Machines beeped rhythmically, keeping time with the fragility of her existence. But within her stillness, her mind was alive, as she could hear, she caught between the chaos outside and the silence within.

'Mom, please stop crying.... please. Don't waste your energy on me.... i have no desire to live anymore....' She said in her mind.

She was sad and started to recall the time how she get in this state. 'When did everything started, when did everything fall apart, is when I denied to do their work or it was then when I scored 1st and they didn't like it... no... no...it was not that time... they hate me since the I got admission... it was all started from the first day since my arrival. They all disliked me.'

She remembered her past when it was her first day at the most famous school in the whole country 'Aurum academy'. She get in the school through scholarship. She was happy, excited to start her first day at school. As she walk, she was amazed by her surroundings, she had never seen fancy lifestyle other than on tele vision, Soleil walk and admiring all the places playground, cafeteria, and even classroom. As she entered in her class which is 10th Silver.

The school classes have different way of pronouncing. Every class is divided into three different sections Broze who were not good with studies. Then come silver who got some talent and have some brain at last come the gold, students who were born gifted. The school basically is for high class people, as students here in school belong to rich and powerful families and high backgrounds. Students like Soleil get through in this school by scholarship. Soleil's parents own their small restaurant and sometimes they also do part time jobs to support their daughter to study in best known school.

Soleil remember the happiness on their parents face when she got admission in 'Aurum academy'. Her father patted on her shoulders, "You made us proud, Soleil" they have tears of happiness in their eyes. Her mother hugged her, kissing her forehead.

She said to herself, 'Then what I did to deserve this... I just wanted to make my parents proud...'

She remembered the encounter with a political daughter 'Kaia Kennedy' who intentionally dropped her food in the cafeteria. Because she didn't like her cause of her family background. Since then, they bully her the way possible. Kaia and her friends lock her up in the washroom, they gave her their projects and work to do. They once burn down her project. Which she get low scoring.

In just one month, they had turned her life into a living hell. But the worst day was etched in her mind like a scar. They had cornered her on the school terrace, the air thick with the heat of the afternoon sun. Soleil stood trembling as Kaia leaned in, her lips curling into a sinister smile.

"Your parents own a small restaurant, don't they?" Kaia said, her voice honeyed with malice. "How about you give it to us?"

Soleil's heart pounded in her chest, fear gripping her like a vice. "No... I can't," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's the only hope for our earning..."

Kaia's eyes narrowed, her steps slow and deliberate as she moved closer, forcing Soleil to back up until her heels teetered on the edge of the terrace. The world spun behind her, the distant ground a blur.

"I've already decided to gift that piece of land to my father," Kaia said, her voice low and venomous. She leaned in, her breath hot against Soleil's cheek. "I want to be a good daughter. Won't you help me with that, Soleil? Aren't you my friend?"

"Kaia... I can't..." As Soleil spoke, she got slapped by Kaia.

"How dare you to say my name from your cheap mouth? Who do you think you are bi*ch?" She grabbed her hair tightly until she gasped in pain, her scream only bring musical sound in Kaia's ears. After Kaia heard her scream she leave her hair. "Remember your place." She said, she lean closer to her, "It's under my foot. KNEEL DOWN" She commanded her. Soleil shake her head in denial, which made her angry as she never like to hear no.

"You dare to say no to me..." As Kaia Kennedy was about to grab her collar, Soleil step back her body trembled and fell down from the school rooftop. She tried to grab something but she couldn't, as she fall down she hit her hand on the ground surface. The blood coming from her head, slowly she was losing her consciousness. With her last strength she look up at the rooftop, Kaia and her friends looking her from the rooftop. Soleil said to herself, 'Yes... that's right this is the difference between me and them... They belong to high and up and I... I tried to level up with them... and end up....like' She closed her eyes. Tears fell from her eyes. On the rooftop Kaia was smiling not even scared by the scene, she didn't even show sign of distress. She look at her collapsed body on the ground and turn back with her group flipping her hair.

'Yeah...it was my fault... if I won't had denied to kneel down I would never end up here... it's been 3 months since then...I wish I could die...Everyday in the hospital bed feels like burden on my parents....I don't want to be burdenon them....' Soleil said to herself returning to present.
