Chereads / Mr. Arley's Woman / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

However, that was not the problem now. Levin just said that she started it.

Livia was about to speak, but he spoke first.

"I judge you too high. You're just like the sluts out there!" Levin said and then chuckled. "How could I fall in love with a woman like you? You want my money, don't you? Tell me how much you want, but don't expect you to see that man –"

"Stop, Levin!" Livia managed to remove Levin's hand from her wrist. She no longer cares about the pain in her right wrist. "Isn't it enough that you hurt my heart by sleeping with Esme? And now, you want to humiliate me, too? If my guess is correct, you did that with Esme to get revenge on me for seeing me with another man, right? But you didn't even ask me about the situation and decided that I betrayed you. I'm disappointed in you, Levin. You are so gross!"

Livia frowned when he gripped her sore wrist. This time, the pain got stronger as his grip tightened, but she tried not to groan in pain.

"Me? Gross? It's you, Livia! Bart has told me everything you said to that guy."

'Bart? So, it's Bart,' Livia said in her heart.

She chuckled and replied, "Seem you trust your friend more than me. It's not like you'll even believe my explanation. But I dare to swear I never betrayed you, Levin!"

Levin looked into her eyes, and he knew that the look in her eyes now was not someone telling lies. It made his feelings complicated.

'Livia didn't betray me? Could it be that Bart was mistaken when he heard their conversation? It means … I have betrayed Livia?' he thought.

He was about to say something when the door opened, then turned their attention to the three people who came in.

"Don't think you can deceive my son again, Livia! How dare a lowly woman like you betray my son!" snapped Marleigh Arley, Levin's mother. She walked over to them.

"Look at this, Levin!" Marleigh handed Levin a piece of paper containing someone's information. "I have asked Bart to find out who the guy is. He is Maron. Livia and that guy have been in a relationship behind your back for a long time. God with us! We figured it out before it was too late."

"I already guessed that you were just taking advantage of my brother's kindness and only wanted his money. You bitch!" said Edith, standing next to her mother.

Meanwhile, the man who came with them, Lucius, Levin's twin, was choosing to stay on the lip of the door and leaned against the frame. He didn't want to interfere with their affairs.

"What are you guys talking about? That's not true!" Livia tried to defend herself.

She was about to say if it was Levin who had betrayed their marriage, but Marleigh did not give her a chance to speak.

"No more evasions, Livia. A woman like you doesn't deserve to be part of the Arleys anymore. Sign the divorce papers and disappear from our sight!" Marleigh took the document in Edith's hand.

"If it weren't for you ever saving Levin, I would have made you pay more for defaming the Arley family," she added.

"No wonder I felt familiar when I saw the guy in the photo. It turned out that I had indeed seen you two. I thought you were just friends, but who would have guessed he was your affair? It's so ridiculous!" said Edith carelessly. The fact, she didn't know who the guy was. She just wanted her brother to be free from that woman.

Livia couldn't believe what she heard. The Arleys had indeed never accepted her. They always looked for opportunities to humiliate her. And now, they were taking a chance to take her down. She looked at Levin to see his reaction, and it seemed like Levin believed Edith's words because he looked angrier than before. His eyes turned red when he crumpled the paper in his hand.

Levin was affected by Livia's sad face before, but he returned to the fact now that it was Livia who had betrayed him first.

Before Levin spoke, Livia opened her mouth first. "I don't care what you think of me anymore. I don't even have to explain anything to you because it's you who have to explain to them about what you have done with Esme."

"What do you mean, Livia?" Lucius asked as he walked closer to them. No wonder he felt strange about the view he saw around the couch. He knew Levin always protected Livia's honor, so he never had sex in an open place like the living room. But it would be different if the woman was not Livia.

"Levin."

A female voice – coming from the stairs – made every pair of eyes on her.

"I won't leave before I get clarity from you!" Esme made her way to them in strange steps. Not only that, she even let her hair still be messy.

Esme's appearance from the second floor suddenly shocked Marleigh, Edith, and Lucius.

As for Levin, he looked at Livia, who was looking at him. He could see not only the deep disappointment and sadness but also disgust from the sharp look in Livia's eyes.

Lucius immediately understood Livia's words when he saw how messy Esme was now.

He approached Levin with a sure step and fearlessly threw a fist at Levin's face. Shocking all the women there.

"How dare you betray Livia! I—"

"Lucius, stop! What are you doing? He's your twin!" Marleigh yelled.

Lucius ignored Marleigh's words. He was about to throw another punch, but Livia held his hand.

"Lucius, enough!" Livia said quietly.

Seeing Lucius stop, Marleigh said in a loud voice. "If Levin and Esme indeed slept together, then why? It was Livia who started it! She was the one to blame, not Levin!"

Livia laughed miserably in her heart. Whatever happened, it would be her fault.

It was so ridiculous!

Her mother-in-law was determined to blame her. Maybe the marriage she chose was wrong from the beginning. She gave her life and even gave up her future to be with Levin, but what she got for her sacrifice was betrayal.

Livia snatched the documents and pen from Marleigh's hand, then signed the divorce papers without a second thought.

She thought she had no reason to maintain a relationship with a man who no longer trusted her and even betrayed their sacred love.

She pushed the document to Levin's chest and said with emphasis, "Remember this, Levin, you are the one who destroyed our marriage. I really hate you! I hope we never meet again in the future!"

"How dare you yell at Levin!" Marleigh interrupted.

Livia didn't want to listen to their nonsense any longer. He was about to take a step, but Levin held her arm and said, "If you leave now, you will get nothing."

She laughed bitterly. Levin completely believed their words and considered her a gold digger. Their marriage for three years seemed meaningless in his eyes.

She took Levin's hand off and looked at him without any fear, only left hatred in her eyes. "Just believe what you believe, Levin. Happy new life with your best friend."

With that, Livia left the mansion without bringing anything except a small bag containing her phone and wallet.

"Livia, wait!"

Lucius's voice did not stop Livia, who kept walking out of the mansion.

"It's late. I will take you." Lucius finally caught up with Livia on reaching the gate.

Livia stopped walking, looked at Lucius, and said, "Lucius, thank you for being nice to me. But I hope we never meet again."

Lucius was about to say something, but he heard Livia continue, "Please don't quarrel. I don't want your relationship with Levin to be awkward because of this matter. Levin can only rely on you."

Lucius clenched his fists. Even after Levin's betrayal, Livia still cared about him.

"Ok," replied Lucius, with a straight face.

Livia did hate Levin very much now, but she couldn't be arrogant to her ex-husband's twins. After all, they had been friends before becoming brother- and sister-in-law.

After that, Livia got into a taxi that passed in front of her and left the house, a place she had lived in for three years.

On her way, she wanted to call someone, but it turned out that her phone had turned off, so she borrowed the taxi driver's phone.

After calling, she asked the driver to take her to National Willberg Airport.

Upon arrival, the man Livia had met before immediately walked up to her when she had just gotten out of the taxi.

"Livia, what is going on? I was so worried when you said you would come with me."

His expression could not be visible because a mask and hat covered his face, but his voice sounded worried.

Livia hugged that man and cried in his arms as she said, "I'm divorcing Levin, Jayde."

Jayde was in shock.

He took Livia to a more private place and sat her down in the waiting chair.

Livia told Jayde what happened to her and Levin without missing a beat.

"Damn! He is a real bastard! He was the one who slept with another woman, but he called my sister a bitch!" He was so angry that it was sure that Levin would get hurt if he was in front of him right now. A second later, however, he sighed heavily before continuing, "But this is also my fault. I'm sorry, Livia."

Livia shook her head. "It's not your fault, Jayde."

"But all of this happened because Levin misunderstood you and thought that you were having an affair with me. I'll talk to Levin. No, no, no, if I meet him now, I will beat him to a batter no matter what. Maybe it's better if I talk to Lucius. He will defend you if someone defames your reputation."

Livia held his hand, who was sitting next to her, "Don't. I don't want to lose you, Jayde. What if an Arley member recognizes you and informs the Rexton family about your whereabouts? I don't want to take a bigger risk, and I don't care about my reputation because I'm not going back to Willberg."

"But what about the babies in your womb, Livia?"

Oh God, how could she forget she was carrying Levin's children right now? Worries ran over her heart. How could she raise them without a father figure?

Livia's hand instantly held her belly, and tears rolled down her cheeks. Besides, she intended to surprise Levin about her pregnancy this afternoon, but because her brother came suddenly, she went to see him first. However, no one could guess the future. Her marriage ended before she had time to tell him, and even scratched a deep wound in her heart.

"Ouch!" Livia held her painful stomach.

"Livia, what happened?" shocked Jayde.

"My stomach so hurts, Jayde! Ouch!" Livia groaned in pain.

"My stomach so hurts, Jayde! Ouch!" Livia groaned in pain.

Livia's feelings suddenly became anxious when the pain was getting worse.

Could she be having a miscarriage? No. That should not happen.

She had already lost Levin. She didn't want to lose her children either.
