Chapter 4 - Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees!

"According to this will, you offered to give me 50 million Yuan, isn't that a bit… unfair, your majesty? As far as I know, the Princess of the Empire is benevolent and lives a low profile life, yet one dress of her costs at least 2.5 million Yuan, the ruby set of earrings she always wears is a gift from His Highness the Crown Prince, that alone costs 4.62 million. The anklets she wears regularly is around 6. 75 million, and the tiara that the Princess uses in special occasions costs more than 700 million because of all the diamonds, rubies and emeralds on it…"

Rui trailed off as she looked straight into Jiang Xun's eyes, "Or is it that the only Princess of the Empire only cost that much?"

Slam!

With a loud sound, Jiang Xun slammed his hand on the desk as he glared at her, gritting his teeth as he growled, "How dare you?!"

She dares to be so arrogant in front of me?!

She was being unreasonable! She wasn't even a child with royal blood, how dare she compare herself to the Princess?!

"Oh, I don't dare at all, Your Majesty. I just want my rights before I leave for good, honestly, wouldn't it be great to separate on good terms?" Rui smiled like a flower as she looked at Jiang Xun, not afraid of his anger at the least.

"..."

"You think you have the ground to male a deal with me?" Jiang Xun wanted to intimidate her as he glared at her.

"I don't think the media would stand around doing nothing after discovering the hidden fake Princesses secret life, would they? Such spicy news, do you think they will be tempted? I bet!" But Rui didn't seem to be the least bit afraid, rather it felt as if she was enjoying this ruckus.

Jiang Xun glared at her for the last time before swallowing his anger as he stared at Rui, "What do you want?"

"Nothing much. In fact, my requirements aren't much to begin with. If you give them to me, I'll leave the palace without a fuss, just like a dead rat." Rui declared as she smiled, saying, "It's really nothing much, or to say, pretty much useless to you, Your Majesty. Please give it to me."

"What is it?" Jiang Xun suppressed his annoyance as he asked, it would be good if she can just disappear from being in front of him as soon as possible.

"10 billion Yuan." Rui Grinned.

"Do you think money grows on trees?" Jiang Xun was ticked by her words as he asked sarcastically.

"They do grow in your business though, Your Majesty. In fact, it's only the bare minimum of the income the Royal Palace deals with every day, isn't it?"

Her cheeky answer left the two grown ups speechless. Because they couldn't refute this fact. The Royal Family indeed dealt with billions of money every day. But how did she know about this information? Which bastard was running their mouth carelessly?

"The East barren land and the Eastern estate, give them to me as well." Rui spread her hands as she said, her eyes never leaving him for a moment.

"And last but not least, I'd like to finish my studies in a University and get my graduation certificate. I already managed to get a recommendation letter, the only thing I need is your signature." Rui spoke in a firm voice, which showed that she already made up her mind.

Jiang Xun narrowed his eyes dangerously as he glared at the unruly girl, growling, "Are you threatening me right now?"

"Not at all, I'm just negotiating with you right now." Rui came off rather calm as she didn't seem intimidated by Jiang Xun even a little, her eyes locking with him without any fear.

"Does it mean you'll go and start living in the East?" Jiang Xun seemed a bit thoughtful as he seemed to be considering the plan, the sound of his fingers tapping on the table filled the room as no one said anything.

"Of course, it's a barren land where no one lives, a calm and peaceful remote countryside. Isn't it just the right place for someone like me?" Rui probed a bit, coaxing him little by little to give in.

It was as good as it sounded, because the East barren land was a deserted place with no people living in it. And in this way, Jiang Xun wouldn't need to think about rumors filling the air of the Capital and the Palace. He can maintain his sovereign while how she lives is none of his business!

This 50 billion Yuan, although it's just a waste of money, it's fine since she wouldn;t live that long in that place anyway.

If this petty money can settle everything, then he better just give in.

"Sounds good to me, but you seem like you have more to ask." Jiang Xun did see through her thoughts by the look of her eyes, or no? Did she do it on purpose?

"Heh, what else can there be? But, if possible, can you give me the address of my parents? The ones who gave birth to me?" A smile flashed across her face as Rui replied.

That's right. All her misfortune, harsh treatment, and neglect she went through, it was all because she wasn't actually Jiang Xun's real child. Not even an illegitimate daughter, rather, she was just a 'fortunate child' who got switched with the real princess at birth.

Soon after they found out that she didn't resemble the Emperor nor the Empress, they went through a gene test in secret. The fact was revealed, but they left it a secret and started to search for the real princess in secret.

After they brought back the real Princess, did they finally make it public.

Rui was never a Royal Member to begin with.

This is also why the grudge runs so deep, because she, a mere commoner from who knows where, is a thief who stole someone else's identity!
