Kaiza walked back into the scene after he had succeeded in securing his uncle a taxi. Also, the taxi driver was waiting for him. He had instructed the driver to wait. He planned to stop by and grab something quickly – the briefcase. Then before he finally exited this place to never come back.
He had several reasons why he wanted the briefcase back. He wanted to know why his father emphasized on guiding it with his life. And two, why just a bag would all of a sudden turn colleagues who had worked together for years against each other?
That meant only one thing. What the briefcase contained was something they couldn't overlook. It was something invaluable and perhaps powerful. Powerful enough to kill the Dowolf? Kaiza questioned
Could it be a weapon built to kill the Dowolf but just one pair of these men wants to have everything in their possession?
Kaiza walked in just after the explosion, hit by the faint smell of smoke. He met with the aftermath of the explosion. Men sprawled across the floor, groaning and rolling to their side. Clutching their wounds. Areas where they have been affected by the blast.
Kaiza then spotted Keaton after a quick scan, near the entrance. He had been moved by the blast several feet back.
Kaiza rushed to him and helped him sit up. Then he noticed Keaton was bleeding from his nose. And in an attempt to speak he coughed out blood. He was losing consciousness. The explosion had a great impact on him because he was closer to the bomb. The blast moved back causing him to land abruptly.
He was almost completely weak. His strength fading quickly.
"Sir, sir!" Kaiza lightly slapped on the man's cheeks, mimicking what he'd seen in movies to keep someone conscious. He continued for a while.
As panic set in. Kaiza's soft pat on Keaton's Cheeks grew firmer, causing the area to reddened.
This was because Kaiza had seen M. Boss slowly standing back on his feet, seemingly less affected by the blast as much as Keaton whom Kaiza was trying to revive.
Kaiza's hand stopped, as soon as he felt a grip on his hand. Keaton was halfway awake and could hear the young man scream in his ear. Then he said "Kaiza!" Keaton rasped, barely audible.
He then moved. His trembling hand reaching under a pile of debris, pulling out a dusty briefcase. He dusted it off and pushed it into Kaiza's hand.
"K-kaiza right?"
With a small nod Kaiza answered. "Here! Take it. Run as far as you can and don't stop until you feel you're safe. Make sure you are safe. Protect it… with your life" Keaton warned. Then stood up collecting a thick stick from Kaiza.
Keaton was familiar with this weapon. It was one of the weapons he and Enzox corporately built.
With a press on a print sensor, the stick transforms into a staff with electrical current running on the upper part.
"I and your father built it," He said after seeing the shocking expression on Kaiza's face. His jaw dropped.
"Run now, while I buy you some time to escape" a grin on his lips staring at Kaiza.
Kaiza nodded, and before he ran out, silently he prayed Keaton would survive his opponent.
"I hope this won't take too long M. Boss," Keaton muttered, activating the staff emanating electricity at its apex. Staring at his opponent grinding mischievously at him.
Out of nowhere, two green-glowing daggers appeared in M. boss hands after he swiveled his index fingers. This dagger had a green aura brimming from the point M. Boss had a grip on it. It seemed like an instrument controlled by magic. But it was a skill weapon
A weapon controlled by one's learnt ability.
Before M. Boss could dash off to take down his only opponent, the guards laying on the floor groaning earlier had stood pointing their guns against him once again. He halted upon seeing this.
"Oh… I thought only Keaton was against me. I totally forgot you guys are on his side." A throaty chuckle followed. "Okay, be ready for this" Just as he finished his words, he got into action. He took a step forward and what happened next was not expected.
In something like a millisecond, the four guards dropped dead to the floor. It seemed like they had no more life in them.
Keaton, who had watched M. Boss addressed this situation and was about to launch his own attack on M. Boss, froze before he could take a step further. He paused, attempting to replay everything that happened in his head to get answers to the questions that had flooded his mind.
But his effort was to no avail. This doesn't make any sense. M. Boss was standing at the other side just now and the guards. They were up, standing against him.
But now, the guards were down to the floor, blood gushing out of their neck that had been split open by an unknown force. And M. Boss was nowhere to be found.
Upon Keaton noticing that he was the only one standing in the room. He felt chills running down his spine. He couldn't comprehend what was going on. With his shattered thinking, he decided to check on the guards who were on the floor now.
When Keaton got to one of the guards nearest to him, he saw his neck split open. Blood gushing out of it nonstop and a soft gulping sound of the man laying on the floor struck a higher level cord of nervousness in him.
This was impossible and this could only mean a thing. M. Boss wasn't just human. He must be a super human or alien. One of the aliens that escaped death?
But how? And what does he want with the briefcase? This should be a human issue. Does the briefcase possess something that belongs to aliens?
Series of questions flooded his mind as he thought about the whole situation he was wrapped in. Just then something crossed his clouded mind that blew away all his unanswered questions that moment.
"Where is M. Boss?" He thought as he squinted his eyes staring around in the dimly lit room.
As he resonated about this he felt a sharp and cold piercing metal laid up against his neck. He froze looking down to take a glance at what it was. But as he had thought, he couldn't see it. It was placed right under his jaw.
He gulped in a load of saliva, his eye widened as the cold metal continued to pierce his skin open and blood streamed out on the metal blade as this happened.
Strangely enough he didn't feel the presence of anyone behind him. It was like some force was used to hold this object up against his neck. Or was it being controlled by magic? That made cold sweat form on his forehead immediately he pondered about this. And his mind couldn't move away from M. Boss
"Hahaha" a soft and throaty chuckle sounded in his ear slowly reverberating the hall as it turned into a loud laughter. It was a mocking one and as this happened the object still pierced Keaton's skin the more.
Keaton was more than scared now, he was losing his mind. He could hear his heartbeat right in his ears and it felt like his heart would jump out of his chest in no second.
As the laugh subsided, it was that moment he felt a figure standing behind him. The smell of the person brushed across his nose. That only got him confused. This wasn't the usual fragrance M. Boss emanated. His smell now was unusually different, it was like someone else was behind him. He gulped again. His Adam Apple came in contact with the dagger this unknown personality was holding against his neck. The metal cut slightly deeper. Then he began to plead.
"M. Boss spare me" He dropped the electric staff he was holding, making a thud on the floor.
"I will spare you on only one condition. Get rid of the boy and bring back my briefcase. Then you are free to go" he said in a casual voice but Keaton felt a load of shiver, tingling as it made its way down his spine.
"I… I'll do it" Keaton cracked as he uttered those words in both pain and fear
"Good boy." The pressure on his neck lessened, but not without a final, deliberate slice. Keaton winced, clutching his neck as blood seeped through his fingers.
M. Boss did this intentionally to inflict more pain on him for challenging him. An evil smile curved his lips up as he walked to Keaton's front.
Keaton was suffering from the inflicted pain on his neck. Covering the injured area with both his hands. Adding pressure to cease the blood from pouring out. Then, M. Boss raised his face to stare into his eyes
He felt this unusually cold finger under his chin as it made him stare into this being's face. Then M. Boss spoke.
"If you really care about the boy, inject him with this," he said, handing over a syringe that contained a green liquid. "He will fall into deep sleep And when he wakes he won't remember if any of this ever happened. Then our little secret will be buried."
Keaton worries diminishes since his reputation won't be stained by this and he would remain a good man to the boy. And also the boy wouldn't be hurt about his parents' painful departure.
He nodded and turned to leave. However M. Boss grabbed his hand off his wound. Then something strange happened. M. Boss brushed his finger across Keaton's injury on his neck. Mysteriously the pain Keaton felt was gone.
"What??" Keaton touched the area to confirm if this wasn't just his thoughts going wild.
Yes, this wasn't his imagination or thoughts. His wounds were actually gone without any trace that he had sustained any injury in that area. His skin had regenerated with just a touch from him.
But Who is he?
Keaton raised his face to stare at the person he couldn't believe was the man he had been working with for over five years now. Once his eye fell on M. Boss's face, his thoughts clicked. This wasn't who he knew; this was actually someone else, perhaps a beast.
M. Boss licked Keaton's blood off his finger that he had used to clean his wound.
Who are you? Keaton thought, his heart beat racing. This surely wasn't the M. Boss he once knew.
