"I'll look at these things when I get back to Los Angeles…" I muttered, my thoughts drifting away as I assessed the gift.

"Everything's okay here now, right?" I asked, turning to Hayley.

"Yes, Clark, I'm much better now. Thank you," she replied, relief softening her voice.

Rebekah crossed her arms, her gaze still heavy. "I still haven't forgiven you for that day. You just left me there for Marcel and that teenage witch to kill me, or whatever."

"Rebekah, my only concern here is her," I said, pointing at Hayley. "If I had helped you get Elijah out of the coffin at that moment, Marcel probably wouldn't have made the deal, and a lot of vampires would still be after Little Wolf."

She was silent, her eyes thoughtful, with no immediate response.

"I'm going to get some air," I announced. "I need to clear my head." I stepped outside, the weight of the conversation following me like a shadow. As I walked through the streets, I heard a distant murmur—someone chanting magic, the subtle sound vibrating in the air.

Inside the house, Elijah walked in with Sophie, the witch, behind him. "How's Hayley?" he asked, concern veiled in his calm voice.

"She's better," I said, giving Sophie a hard look. "I've completely lifted the curse from her, and together, I've removed the binding magic. Tell your witch friends: if they try anything again, I'll know. And I'll tear them all apart." Without another word, I left.

I went to the little witch, Davina. There wasn't much to do around there, so why not? Knock, knock, knock.

"Who is it?" she shouted, her voice strained.

Toc, toc, toc.

She took out a knife and opened the door with a magical gesture. "You?!"

"Hi, little witch," I greeted casually. "Are you busy?"

She stared at me, her face serious. "What do you want here? I don't remember us being friends or anything."

"Want to take a walk around?" I suggested, relaxed.

"A turn?" She frowned. "First, how do you have so much magic? Your power is as strong as mine… if not stronger. How is that possible? Did you also perform a ritual?"

"No," I replied, smiling. "I was born a little special for magic. Let's just say I'm loved by nature."

"Loved by nature?" she repeated, puzzled. "What does that mean?"

"I was born compatible with the magic around me," I explained. "I don't need incantations to use it. Other people recite words, right?"

"Yes, that's normal for all witches," she confirmed. "They have to say the words to use the magic."

"Yeah, but I don't need to," I continued. "I just have to think about what I want to do, and I can use any spell I know. The ones I don't know, of course, are impossible. That's where you come in. Elijah brought you some grimoires, right? Why don't you share some with me? I only have a week here before I have to go back to L.A. I thought I'd learn a few spells before I go." I gave him a friendly smile.

She hesitated, but gave in. "Okay, I'll share it with you… Your name is Clark, right?"

"That's right. Nice to meet you, Davina," I replied, extending my hand.

She smiled and shook my hand. "So you're here because of a woman? You said she's pregnant with your child… How old are you?" she asked curiously.

"Seventeen," I revealed. "What happened between me and Hayley was a one-night mistake, but that mistake had consequences. Now I have to step up to the plate, even at a young age."

"Do you like her?" she asked, her eyes inquisitive.

"Yes, I do, but not romantically," I clarified. "You already know I'm a werewolf. Some of us have something called imprinting. It's like an overwhelming crush—you look at someone and think, 'That's the one. I want to spend the rest of my life with her.' I had that with a girl a while back, and she's waiting for me in L.A."

"So… how did you do this to Hayley?" she insisted, confused. "If you're in love with someone, how could you do this to someone else? I don't understand."

"Only half of my soul was taken by the Imprint—my wolf half," I explained. "The human half is still human."

"This is so confusing," she muttered, frowning.

"Hahaha," he laughed. "Basically, I'm a man trapped in a werewolf body, constantly struggling to keep from going around ravaging women and having children. Unfortunately, this time I couldn't hold back, and all this happened."

Her face flushed. "I see… You're a pervert."

"What can I do?" I joked, with a predatory smile. "I'm a man. Pretty girls like you bring out something in me."

She covered her face in embarrassment. "You pervert! Get out!" She cast a spell, and I was pushed back a few feet.

"Hahaha, so, shall we begin?" I asked, laughing.

"Huh? Start what?" she exclaimed, shocked, stepping back.

"I'm talking about reading the books," I clarified, amused. "What thoughts do you have in that little head of yours?"

Still blushing, she quickly turned away, embarrassed. "You're the pervert!"

"Hahaha, so you are too, huh?" I teased.

"Don't compare me to you, idiot!" she retorted, huffing. "Let's go before I give up. Hmmph."

I smiled. "Sure, let's get started."

A few hours later, I stood up with a groan. "Ugh, that's enough for me today. I've already memorized every spell in this book. I'll come back tomorrow for more."

"What? That's impossible!" Davina exclaimed. "How did you memorize it all?"

"I have a photographic memory," I explained. "But I hardly use it. I basically control what I store and what I access in my brain."

"What kind of cheating is this?" she protested indignantly. "Teach me that too, you cheater! It's not fair!"

"Hahaha, unfortunately I can't teach," he said, laughing. "It's not possible. Sorry, little witch."

She laughed with me. "Okay. So you're leaving now, right?"

"Yes, I have to go. Maybe they're looking for me."

"Okay. Come back tomorrow, Clark," she said, waving her hand.

"Sure," I replied, leaving. This girl is really cute. I like her , I thought.

I went back home. "Hayley?" I called, looking for her. Nothing. "Damn… She's been kidnapped."

"Shit, I forgot about that… Tyler," I cursed, running through the streets, following the trail of her scent.

I spent the whole night searching, but, as always, I found nothing. Until I heard voices in the distance.

"So you killed his mother, great," said a voice.

"He needed a lesson," replied another.

"And what will be your lesson, Niklaus, if he retaliates by hurting Hayley?" retorted a third.

I walked over. "So you're here too."

"Clark," Elijah said, turning to me. "Are you looking for Hayley too?"

"Since dawn," I confirmed, exhausted.

Klaus chuckled. "Hahaha, you spent the whole night chasing her? What does your werewolf sense of smell say, boy?"

"She got lost the whole time," I admitted. "I had to go the old-fashioned way, tracking footprints. Unfortunately, I don't have anything on her to cast a locator spell on."

"Tyler Lockwood is the one who kidnapped her," Klaus said, his tone dark. "I will find him and kill him."

"Tyler… Sure, revenge," I muttered. "What are you waiting for? Let's find her."

We searched together and found her. Everything followed as in the original story—until the moment Klaus bit Elijah. I healed him with my blood, and we quickly returned home. They were surprised to see that my blood could cure a werewolf bite.
