Thankfully by the time Rio was collapsing to his feet he dwindleddow the number of his opponents to just two and the two headed direhog, young as it ws adoign a good job of keeping thm at bay.
Knowing that this was not the time for him to take a break and most imprtnatly show weakness, against the emotiness in his head, Rio rose back to his feet and he attacked.
As Rio had seens when he killed the head of the barbarian group, his strength far outclassed that hos opponets and that did not change even after the serious mentak debuff he had gotten.
Though a but disoriented, Rio fini=ding a sense of balance pushed off from the groudn in a sprint and the next moment he arrived before a one of te two barbarioan, a woman who was furtrated at her just didged attack.
Leaving the last opponent, amn to be taken care of by the direhog, in a bout of curiosity, Rion grabbed the woman's face his fingers clamping on tit;s sides and then he squeezed as hard as he could.
Showing off her poor battle intellect and lack of experience, rather than truy to cut Rio with her blade not that she would have succeded, Immeidatley Rio caught her face and squeezed, the woman let her sword fall to the groudn in pain and desperately trying to pry his fingers of her face.
Keeping his hands clamped on the woman's face, a glint went throigh Rio's eyes and with a nrrow of them he extrted strength in his arms and lifted the woman of the ground.
For several seconds, while Keeping an eye on the fight happning next to him, Rio squeezed as hard as he could wantin to crush the skull of his opponent, but soon je was forced to give up this goal as the woman with all her strength succefully pulled his hand of her face and fell to the grounf.
"I'm too weak" Rio thought.
Testament to her survival instocts thoig, the secpd the woman dropped to the groudn, she immeiatel p9shed off the ground and ran away looking to flee, but unfortunately for her Rio was not against testing out his throwing skills.
Glancing to his right to see that the two headed direhog had it;s opponent continuously retreatinh, Rio lifted his axe and squinting his left eye, threw it.
The red emergency axe which had been doing more than what's it manufatcire designed it for the past days shot throeigh the air, it deadly form spinning till it evetualy foufn the back of it's target.
With a sigh, giving the two headed direhog one more look, Rio sped forward, his form appearing over the body of the woman and his feet stomping down on her just as he had beenabout to get up.
Unfortunately, while Rios axe had hit, it wasn't the edge of his blade that made contact but rather it's flat upper surface and it had only sent the woman falling down.
Pressed to the groudn, the woman spoke a lot of words which were incomprehsnisve could clearly be deciphered as please gven her tone, but unfortunately it didnlt save her from goettignher head spolit in two.
Rio stared at the fountain of blood that gushed put of the woman's split head, staininghos axe and then polling on the floor.
Without a word, he pulled out his axe and turned to retirn to the last oppone,t but as he took step, he stumbld to the left, a kight tremble having gone throigh his head.
Massagign his head as he wondered whther eating flesh would solve the problem of his lght head but could only be repulsed by the sight of human flesh around him, Rio moved forward but just as he was about to offer his help, a growl kept him pausing.
"You actually want to handle him yourself" Rio asked and after a confirmative growl from the two headed direhig, he collapsed on a rock to the side and became a spectator.
The two headed Direhogs opponent was a man who used two dagger and though he held them like an expert, one forward and the other in a revergrip, he fought like an idiot.
Rio wasn't an expert in the use of dagger or any weapons, but just watching the actiosn of a mna he could tell tha he was a total newbiw with thise weapons.
"It would be better if he just held them like kitched knofed and tried his best."
Though the two headed direhog had sustained a fe cuts along it's back in the course of the battle, the fact that the man had still not killed the beat which wasn't even up to a week old ad was covered in sevrla bite marks and cuts spoek badly of him.
"Is it trying to poison him like it didn the other wto men back at the valley" Rio thought but then after obsevrig te man some more his eyes narrowed.
"With how much bites he has on his arms the fact that he hasn't collapsed by now means that either the direhog doesn't want to poison him or the man is immune to its poison."
A look at the anger and frustion on te face of the direhog thoigh told Rio, that the answer definitely wasnlt the former, it was out for a kill in anyway.
"How persistent"
The battle between the beat and the barbarioan lasted for several minutes before eventually the man gre tired became sloppy and was brutally swiped behind his knees.
From there thinsg went worse of the man ad better for the two headed direhig and soon oit;s opponent was dead and it was diggignit;s maws into red warm flesh.
While the beast feasted though Rio, had a contemplative look on his face as he looked around trying to understand why no one had come to save the last man or even check on how the battle had fared it had been sometime since Rio clashed the enemy after all. They were just before the enemy's territory weren't they, just behind the waterfall was the door to their village right.
With the apetite it had shown the previous day, Rio expected the two headed direhog to finish with the man it had kill and move on to the other dead bodied, but instead it came to him with a satisfied look and puffed up it's chest whenhe suggested it eat some more.
"How prideful, it only want to eat what it kills"
