The ground beneath his feet shattered, forming a deep pit. Roar! The lizard howled and pressed harder, forcing Skye’s legs to bend slightly. Limit Removal. The skin on Skye’s arms and legs tore apart as he pulled one arm back and punched forward with explosive force. His entire arm disintegrated upon impact. "Graar!" The lizard’s front half lifted into the air before crashing to the ground. The surrounding sheep seized the opportunity, charging in and ramming into the downed lizard. In the blink of an eye, Skye appeared atop its head, his arms regenerated. He clenched both of his hands together into a fist and slammed it into the lizard’s skull. His arms exploded again. Bam! The back of the lizard’s head hit the ground, creating a crater. "Quite resilient," Skye muttered, repeating the attack. Boom! Explosions echoed across the battlefield. "Baa!" the sheep cried. "Hiss!" the lizards hissed, as the two sides clashed ferociously. Suddenly, a massive body flew through the air and landed in the center of the battlefield. It was the 15-meter-tall lizard—dead. _______ The story follows Skye and the flock of sheep as they continue to grow for billions of years and eventually rule the universe.

The original story will remain available for those who enjoyed it, but I’m taking the narrative in a new direction—one without systems. I’ve come to believe that systems, while popular in fantasy, often serve as a crutch. Concepts like skill points and their effects on characters tend to be loosely defined, diluting the depth of the story and characters. In this rewrite, I’m removing the system elements entirely, refocusing the tale on the raw, emotional struggles of humanity climbing the World Tree. Additionally, the chapters in ATWT Rewrite will be much shorter. Writing 11k-word chapters in the original wasn’t sustainable for me, so I’ll be aiming for 1–2 pages per chapter this time. This will help me create a more consistent and enjoyable writing process. I hope you’ll join me on this new journey. This novel is what I'd like to call a Hero Action Drama. It focuses on heavily on its characters and how this futuristic, but grounded world affects them. TW: Heavy, non-graphic violence, T-rated language. Some intense traumatic topics will be referenced such as torture, abuse, and human trafficking. A warning will be placed before such a scene takes place.
