Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

"Huh!"

"Huh!"

"Huh!"

At the highest point of the Kuruta tribe's settlement, on top of a steep cliff, Rocky lay with a tired expression, his face drenched in sweat. Yet, despite his exhaustion, a smile crept onto his face.

"Finally… I'm up!"

He raised his hand to block the sunlight with the Sword of the Wise King, which gleamed faintly as the light hit it, revealing the white crystal-like fluorescence on its dark blade.

"This is considered a successful development!"

"Flashing continuously! Thirty-seven times! Finally… I'm up!"

Rocky sat up, supporting himself with his left hand. His arm trembled from the strain. His plan had worked, but the cost was heavy. He had sacrificed his talent in exchange for this new ability.

The ability had been successfully developed, but it came with a price: an enormous energy expenditure. Each 'flash' drained a lot of his energy, and with his current reserves, he could only perform the ability eleven times before completely exhausting himself. If the Nen flow wasn't smooth enough, the flash might fail, and the sword wouldn't teleport properly.

Rocky had come up with a method to practice his ability—climbing the mountain. However, he wasn't actually climbing; instead, he threw the sword upward from the base of the cliff. With his current strength, he could only throw the sword a little over ten meters, which was already impressive for an eight-year-old.

Because the amount of Nen required for flashing was so high, Rocky had to reduce the amount of Nen surrounding the sword. This slower, more controlled flash limited the speed and range of the sword's flight.

At this stage, Rocky had not yet developed his abilities as a Transmuter, Enhancer, or Emitter, and this limitation affected his overall power. After eleven flashes, Rocky could only travel a distance of about 100 meters from the bottom of the cliff.

It wasn't perfect. After each flash, he would fall back down before being able to throw the sword again. So, after eleven flashes, he would only reach about 100 meters.

To reach the top of the cliff, he needed five minutes of flashing. Rocky reflected on his progress.

Even for an Enhancer, scaling this cliff would have taken at least ten minutes, even with knowledge of climbing techniques. It was nearly impossible to ascend in such a short time.

Rocky's escape plan was taking shape. If an Enhancer attempted to climb after him, they would face numerous obstacles. The cliff had no places to find leverage, and any attempt to leap after him would result in a dangerous fall.

Looking down the cliff, Rocky noticed that the canyon sloped down on both sides, which was advantageous for his descent. With his flashing ability, he could descend from the top to the bottom with incredible speed. If an Enhancer attempted to jump down after him, they would face a massive height difference and likely injure or kill themselves in the process.

This escape route was perfect, but Rocky knew he needed to keep training. He needed to increase his mental energy and further develop his abilities in Transmutation and Manipulation to improve his range and power.

Rocky sat on the cliff, closing his eyes to recover his Nen. As he rested, he pondered a crucial question: What should he name his abilities?

Now that he had developed the abilities of flickering and controlling the flying sword, they needed proper names. He considered it for a moment.

"The ability of flashing is called Phantom Shift."

"And the ability to control the flying sword is called Phantom Sword."

Rocky smiled. These names seemed right, but they were just individual abilities. They were part of his larger, more powerful ability. He could feel that this was just the beginning.

"My ability is called the Power of the King," he declared. This name would encompass all the other sword abilities he planned to unlock, like the Blade of the Cultivation King, the Lion King Twin Swords, and others. Each sword would have its own distinct power.

But there was still one ability Rocky had yet to fully develop: the Sword of the Wise King. This ability was immensely powerful. It didn't require throwing the weapon—just a simple action would make the blade appear in the desired position, allowing him to attack instantly. It felt almost too powerful to be real.

To develop this ability, Rocky knew the cost would be great. Even after sacrificing his Nen talent to develop Phantom Shift and Phantom Sword, he wasn't sure if that would be enough.

Rocky opened his personal information panel:

**[Nen Talent: Top]**

**[Physical Potential: Intermediate]**

**[Bloodline Ability: Low Level]**

**[Estimated Countdown for Next Modification Permission: 54 (Days): 18 (Hours): 33 (Minutes): 18 (Seconds)]**

It would take a full 55 days before he could modify his abilities again. Because he had sacrificed his top Nen talent for this development, the countdown had reset, and it would take longer to reach the next modification.

Rocky thought about this for a moment. "Is the limit of talent really the top?" he wondered, considering Kurapika's Chain abilities, each with its unique power. Rocky knew his own abilities would continue to evolve, and he might find new limits yet to be reached.

A/N: The original author of this novel probably has no idea about the correct nen system of HXH world. There are a lot of incorrect info about specific nen category and their abilities. So I'm trying the best i can to fix it. So if any of you guys see any incorrect information, do let me know so i can fix it. Byeeeeee👋
