My brief slumber, or attempt to at least, was interrupted by a slight knocking on the door. I groaned. I was not in the mood for this shit right now. The knocking continued about 3 more times. I was curious now.
Who was it?
My father in my old life had abandoned ship. In my old life, even when I was in high school, I had to wake up by myself. No one bothered to wake me up and be subject to me in a foul mood. I hated life at the time.
Honestly, that didn't change much, but I learned to hide it better as the years went by.I remained in my bed, I heard a final knocking, softer than the other times.
"...I'm sorry."
A soft feminine voice spoke and slowly entered the room.I felt exposed. Who the hell was this? There were too many unknowns. Was I even the same person? What was my name?I pretended to remain asleep, hoping that this woman would just leave it be and let me rest.
Wishful thinking I suppose.
"It's time to get up. I know you are sleepy, but you have to start your day."
I opened my eyes. I was greeted to the sight of a woman with a plain yellow apron and long hair in a ponytail. Her sharp eyes and long eyebrows gave her a graceful appearance, almost as if she was a queen.
She was gorgeous, there was no way a woman like this could be my mother. Back in my past life, my mother had never kept her appearance in check. Dad ruined everything. When dad lost his job, he took his rage out on the entire family. He ruined her.
Anything that was left of her was wasted whilst taking care of me. Whatever dad did to her, she couldn't live with it. When I was 4, she took her own life, and I had to live with my aunt. I was not the most familiar with motherly love. The woman in front of me began fidgeting whilst staring into my eyes. Ok, now I felt uncomfortable. What the hell is happening?
