Chapter 2 - Marvel Madness

I AM IRON MAN.

So, the events of Iron Man 1 already happened, Tony announced his identity two months ago.

Rhodey looks like Don, but Tony is not RDJ. He has a similar vibe but a different appearance.

I already know this is not the MCU because mutants exist here. Yeah, mutants. Magneto is infamous worldwide as a top-tier terrorist.

This means I am in Marvel Comics, not the cinematic universe, maybe some alternate version.

And that means my chances of survival just dropped hard, considering the destruction levels and insane events that happen in the comics.

The Fantastic Four is already a thing too. They have been seen saving people multiple times in the past six months. Apparently, they got their powers from cosmic rays, though not much detail is out there.

A lot of people see them as heroes, but not everyone is on board. Some think they just bring chaos and should not be allowed to use their powers.

Mutants, though, are treated like they always are in fanfics, as if they are a curse or a plague. Religious groups call them a disgrace to God, straight-up labeling them as demons. Sure, there are some groups that see them as a gift from God, but the hate is way louder than the support. It is like every form of racism in history mashed together, only worse.

The biggest problem with mutants is that they're so divided. Since they're not united, people don't see how dangerous they could really be if they worked together.

Individuals like Magneto and Charles are treated like godlike figures, but there's a big difference between being seen as a god and actually being one.

Even among themselves, mutants are kind of racist. They think they're superior to anyone whose powers are weak or not flashy. What they don't realize is that those "weak" mutants would still be considered elite by human standards.

Even Charles is guilty of this. He only lets kids or mutants with the potential to become X-Men into his academy. They're all so short-sighted. Honestly, they can't really complain when others look down on them.

Sighing, I scroll through more reports.

Hulk has been spotted fighting, well, destroying is a better word, the military a bunch of times. Some people think he is a mutant because the government is not saying much. They are obviously controlling the media to keep his real origin hidden.

Then there is this short clip of a flaming skull riding a motorcycle. People think it is fake, just some clever editing.

But any Marvel fan would know right away it is Ghost Rider.

Even if I forget about those insanely powerful dimensional lords and cosmic entities, I have still got to worry about Skrulls, Kree, Shi'Ar, Inhumans, and mutants. Honestly, all of that is enough to keep me on edge.

There are also companies like Hammer Industries, Pym Technologies, Oscorp, Frost Enterprises, the Life Foundation, Rand Corporation,Fisk Industries and a few others.

Switching off the PC, I moved to the couch and lay down, rubbing my temples.

At least I do not have to print everything I get from the gacha to earn points. Fan points work collectively, not individually, which is a relief.

After all, if I unlock Marvel in the future, I have no plans to create its comics or movies.

Then there are worlds like My Hero Academia. Their powers could easily be passed off as mutant abilities, so even if someone notices similarities, no one would connect them to anything else.

Being able to choose what I want to show the world gave me some sense of control.

I don't think a manga will attract SHIELD's attention, but if someone with similar powers shows up, they'll definitely notice.

And where SHIELD goes, HYDRA always follows.

The name "Snake Shield" definitely fits.

Someone like Fury definitely wouldn't want anyone outside of his control.

He's all about keeping things in check, especially when it comes to people with superpowers. If he thinks you're a threat or could be unpredictable, he'd want to keep a close eye on you, or even erase you if necessary, unless he can bring you in.

Maybe label me as a mutant and start hunting me down.

I don't think it would be too weird for someone to gain superpowers from manga. I remember there was a mutant who could acquire any power by creating tattoos. He could even give those tattoos to others.

Maybe others will see me as a reality warper, which would only make me seem even more dangerous to them.

Whatever, I muttered, deciding to think about all this when the time comes. Right now, I need to check which world I've unlocked.
