"Aren't they going too far?"
Ersen Aurion bowed her head lower to avoid the gaze of the school's healer, Verlin Syth, who's treating the cuts from her face. She tried to hide the untreated bruises that slightly showed up on her other arm, but the professor was quick to catch it and ripped the right sleeve of her uniform only to see a red patch of boils covering almost all of Ersen's arm up to her shoulders.
It's similar to a third degree burn but much more painful and critical than it. The skin seems to be moving on its own and alive.
"A flesh-eating curse?! What did Alondra do to you?" the professor shouted at her, frustrated that his student is even trying to hide this fact from him.
"She…she's not the one who did this." Ersen answered while trembling, almost like pleading as she held the hem of the professor's sleeves.
The professor tried to cast a recovery spell in her arm, but it disintegrated right away, leading him to the conclusion that whoever casted the curse to Ersen was someone with a higher rank than him.
"That crazy bit–"
"Professor?"
Verlin's words were cut off by a voice, followed by three knocks on the clinic's door.
"Come in," he said, knowing very well that it was his secretary, Magnus. "What brought you here tonight?"
"Sir, the principal told me that I must come here now and that I need to tell you to 'close… your… eyes'."
Verlin Syth immediately backed off and protected Ersen when the last words of Magnus fell down from his mouth as if recorded. He used a shield to protect themselves and the resulting explosion only affected Magnus.
As expected, something flashed out of Magnus' body.
"Hah! To think that you predicted that attack, you're really incredible, Professor Verlin."
"I don't need your praise, Alondra."
The green haired princess from Elyrian Kingdom squinted her eyes at the professor that's loved and respected by almost every student in their campus. She frowned at him and flicked her hands, signaling her guards to show themselves.
"Why are you only protecting Ersen, Professor? Is it because she's prettier than me? What's your standard in choosing who you'll side with?" Alondra questioned the professor. "Did you know what that bitch's family did to my family? Every day and every night, I can still hear the voices of my family that's being tortured by that bitch herself."
"I didn't do anything! You're lying. Don't listen to her professor, you know me. I am the one that's being bullied by her here in the academy," Ersen wept at the professor, pulling herself closer to Verlin to avoid Alondra's direct gaze.
"Hah!" Alondra exhaled disappointedly. "Sl*t," she just whispered and looked at her guards for them to start attacking the professor.
Meanwhile, outside the office, students and faculties are now slowly noticing the commotion that's happening in the clinic.
"What's that?" one student asked her classmate when one of the clinic's windows broke. "Shall we report it to the principal?"
The two students then ran to the headmaster's building to notify the principal and headmaster of the commotion.
However, Alondra seems so fixated in resolving her problems that night. Even though four of her guards are already lying down from Verlin's magic attacks, she's showing no signs of retreating.
"I guess, this is the limit of my patience, Professor," Alondra whispered. "Ersen this and Ersen that. In this place, there is no one better than Ersen in the eyes of everybody and that is because of your influence, Professor. You always make it look like Ersen deserves the praise. Why? I also asked myself. And you know what I discovered?"
Alondra breathed deeply before continuing.
"Do you want to know, professor? Or maybe I can make the whole Academy know what actually is happening behind the scenes."
Verlin bit his lips.
"Don't you dare do anything that you'll regret Alondra. You are just a student, and I am a professor. I'm sure that you know that the authorities won't let you go once they know that you're behind Ersen's curse," Verlin warned Alondra while raising his hand, preparing to cast a magic any time that he thinks that it will connect.
"Really?" Alondra challenged him. "Are you sure?"
Then she showed the professor a recording glass that emanates a green light from within.
"I'll make sure to make it grand for you, professor."
After saying that, Alondra fired three consecutive flame missiles at the window that completely shattered it and left a hole on the wall, big enough for a person to pass through. Then she threw the recording glass in the air and broke it using another flame missile.
The startled students looked up but what they saw now were fragments of the recording glass falling down like stardust in the sky and the recorded scene being shown high up in the air.
It's Professor Verlin talking to Ersen. At first, anyone will think that it is just a common student-professor meeting, but things started to get weird when Ersen started to undress in front of the professor, willingly.
Then she climbed to the professor's arms and kissed him.
Professor Verlin, on the other hand, did not do anything to reprimand his student and received the kiss wholeheartedly, even giving it back to Ersen, which makes the majority of the students, looking at the scene that what's happening is consensual.
And the kiss deepened, and they started making out like pigs in heat on the Professor's desk.
Ersen's face could not be described anymore as her moan echoed and students shy away from her private moment with the professor. She tried to stop the record by throwing magic at it but it's no use at all.
Feeling ashamed that her secret meetings with the professor went out just like that, Ersen's anger towards Alondra increased.
Red as a tomato, she took a step towards Alondra, ready to pull Alondra's hair any time.
"You bitch!" Ersen screamed.
And then she ran to her and pushed Alondra out of the window which she regretted quickly enough.
"Oh, that's too bad," Magnus commented when he stood up again from one side of the room where he collapsed earlier, five minutes after Alondra was pushed outside.
"My contractor's dead, so the curse activated. I'm sorry for your loss," he said blankly and left Professor Verlin in daze, still looking at the dead Alondra lying down on the school grounds and Ersen's corpse that's quickly rotting on his feet.
