A lanky boy with a mop of unruly brown hair stepped forward, his face pale. He clasped the hand of his friend, a stocky redhead named Leo, on his shoulder.
"Wish me luck, Leo," Charles choked out, his voice barely audible.
With a nervous laugh, Leo squeezed Charles's shoulder. "Knock 'em to death, buddy!"
Charles walked into research center, his heart pounding against his ribs as he entered the building.
Almost a minute later, Charles came out with a smile on his face.
"Haha! E-Class Talent! Telekinesis (Rank E)!"
The crowd erupted in a cheer. A E-rank Talent, while not the coveted A or S rank, was still a valuable asset. Charles's chest puffed out with pride. He ran back to Leo, earlier he was nervous, but now he was beaming with confidence.
"See that, Leo?" Charles boasted, a smirk plastered across his face. "Got an E rank talent, seems I'll be more than just a simple person."
Leo managed a thin smile. "Yeah, well, you wouldn't forget your old buddy when you're living the life right?"
Charles scoffed. "Don't worry, bro. We'll find a place for you in my new life, maybe as my Weapon washer."
Leo immediately stomped Charles on the foot, making the later scream in pain while holding his leg with his hand and hopping on one foot.

"Number 2319, Amanda Roselyn. Please head to Injection area 5!"
A girl with reddish brown hair stepped forward, her footstep steady as she walked into the building. Unlike Charles, she was completely calm, seemingly ready to accept her fate, whatever may be.
A minute later, she came out and stated her talent.
"Rank F talent Minor Light Manipulation."
The entire crowd were a bit disappointed. However, most people in the slums couldn't awaken talent at all. For her to be able to awaken a talent meant that she was still destined for great things.
Although F-rank Talent was barely enough to secure a decent job in the city let alone a life of luxury. Amelia, however, remained unfazed. Her eyes narrowed in concentration, and a small brighr light flickered in the palm of her hand, seemingly on the verge of collapsing.

"Number 2320, Astray Brighton. Please head to Injection area 5!"
The speaker called out and the person went to the building as it continued.
Meanwhile, in the buzzing crowd, a beautiful girl with flowing dark hair and black, glistening eyes walked towards a brown hair ruffled young man.
Her footsteps were heavy as they touched they touched ground, making the students nearby turn their heads in shock.
Immediately they saw who it was, the students weren't at all surprised and simply chucked. "The iron lady is here again."
"Haha, Miles' such a pitiful guy to have caught her eye. Haha."
"Shhh! Don't let her hear you otherwise even if you're awakened, she will still beat you to death."
The students whispered admist each other.
"Haha. My dear Miles! Such coincidence meeting you here!"
Miles turned around to look, and saw that it was a girl he had known at his place of work, Morgana. She was smiling brightly with her eyes narrowed.
Seeing the young lady, Miles face changed slightly and he tried to hide but it was too late.
He immediately rolled his eyes.
'Oh, please. You don't even live around this district! Why are you acting like this is all a coincidence!'
Seeing Morgana, Chris immediately laughed out loud and patted Morgana's shoulder as though they were buddies. "Sister in law! You're finally here!"
Morgana also noticed Chris called her sisterin-law and her smile brightened. She also patted him on the shoulder twice and Chris felt as though his kneels were about to give in as he squeezed out a pained smile.
"Haha. Here, here, I brought you some good stuffs. I'm sure you will like it." Morgana checked her schoolbag and brought out an exquisite sandwich with meat made from the flesh of Interdimensional Monster.
"Thanks, sister-in-law is truly the best!" Then he proceed to ewt it without even sharing it with Miles.
Seeing his friend betray him, Miles glared at the food muncher and cursed in his mind.
'Bastard!'
He then turned to Morgana.
"Morgana, just call me Miles!"
The smile on Morgana's chubby face didn't fade in the least as she answered, "Alright, My lover Miles!"
Usually speaking, to have a female who adores you when you'd just transcended to another world was something to be happy about, especially when Miles was someone who hadn't even touched a girl's breast even by mistake.
