Chapter 12 - 12. Golden Eye

12. Golden Eye

The next feeling that came to Eryndor's head was a sharp sting. His eyes shot open as air rushed back into his lungs, the world spun or was his brain the one spinning. He could feel he was soaked in sweat, but how? He could feel the wind coming into his room, it was cool but his body was burning hot.

"Shit!" He cursed. "Did I make a deal with the devil and it's cursing me for it?"

His vision slowly settled, he stayed there for a minute in silence, his brain still catching up to him. From the light that came into his room it was still night, just how long had he been out for?

It only took a while longer for it to come so his mind, memories came rushing back to him causing him to shriek in fear as he clutched to his left eye but did not feel any abnormality. It was fine, perfectly fine.

"Odd?" He doubted his instincts and climbed to his feet, he turned his head in the direction of the mirror that stood in a corner of his room and watched his reflection staring right back at him. It looked very messy like something drawn from the trash, his pointy elf ear barely poked out of his ruffled hair. He looked pretty much the same, the mess aside.

Just then something glintered in his reflection and it came from his left eye, he went closer to the mirror his heart pounding like the drums of war. His eye just like the other eye was blue but now it shimmered with a golden sheen, it would be a little hard to notice in the distance thought. So it was probably not noticeable.

"Shit! What did I do to myself. A shitty demon eye." Eryndor hissed out in frustration feeling he had had just made the biggest mistake of his life.

A moment later all of his anxiety was flushed away by his system notification.

[You have successfully cleared the tutorial and now ready to begin your climb to power. The total estimated time of completion is "7 years". The review is poor. You have received your first title and honour.

System initialisation has begun]

Eryndor looked at the floating silver screen and hissed at it. "What do you mean poor. Holy shit I've been doing a tutorial for seven fucking years, what kind of bullshit is that?" He was extremely discontent with himself more than he was in the system.

He wondered if he had perhaps gone with the main system objective from start if things would have been different now. At the very least he was grateful that even though it took him long he learned his lesson eventually.

[Name: Eryndor Sylvaren

Race: Elf (Holy)

Title: Fallen Prince, Degenerate

Rank: Beginner Mage

Core: Dormant

Attribute: (Divinity), (Legacy Of The Crescent Prince), (Cursed)

Magic Point: 105/1000]

Eryndor's jaw fell wide open his mind struggling to comprehend what each information held. The first thing he put in mind was the fact that he was an holy elf, to that he remarked. "Maybe it's because I'm from the royal bloodline."

["Well that is totally obvious, what are you stupid?"]

Eryndor heard the familiar voice of the foreign entity and jumped back in fright. What had him so spooked was the fact that it sounded too close for comfort, this time it was not carried by the wind but rather coming from his head.

Did that even make sense?

"Is that you crazy ghost?" He glanced around his room, his breath shaking.

The silence only lasted for a moment before it spoke again.

["Crazy ghost, how ungrateful. Refer to me as master!"]

The voice clearly did not sound pleased. "W-where are you?" He asked in a paranoid tone.

["Where else, your left eye? A bit of my consciousness was passed her along with the eye even a baby could tell."]

Eryndor froze in gear, his body trembling as the words escaped his mouth. "Shit! I've got a demon in my eye, I really am cursed."

His left eye beamed a little and then spoke.

["Stop being childish and let me see your ability!"]

He jumped back again from fright, adapting to the fact of a being living in his eye was unsettling. A lot of thoughts started to flood his mind but he pushed them away so he could focus on the problem at hand.

"Why do you want to see my ability?" He asked in a shaky voice.

["How else do you expect me to teach you? With your intellect you won't even know the basics, besides I really want to see the power gotten from the legacy of the crescent prince.]

Eryndor gulped down and thought to himself. "A demonic right eye giving me orders. What's the worst that can happen?"
