14. Parting Between Siblings
The soft knock on his door woke up the degenerate prince from his slumber, he grumbled at the sight of the sunlight that stretched into his room. He had barely gotten an hour of sleep apparently spending the whole night in a whirlwind of activities. Meeting his master, getting the golden eye, exploring the legacy of the crescent prince.
In summary he was still trash, plain as that. He dragged his feet under him as he reached the door, he raised his hand to the door knob and wondered who would be disturbing his day this early in the morning.
He turned the doorknob and pulled it open to see an elegantly dressed elf wearing a flowing blue gown, she had light blue eyes, long white hair that was neatly held to the side by a silver pin. Her face was white as she and beautify, on seeing him she gasped. "Eryndor what happened to you?" She sounded deeply worried.
This was Eryndor's sister Elantha, she was not used to wearing gowns like a proper princess, choosing to go with pants most times so it took him a while to recognize her.
Eryndor was not conscious of his physical appearance not that he ever was but at the moment he looks very messy. His white hair had dust on it and was very shaggy, his face was pale, his pajamas roughened. The one feature of him that stood out more was his face, it was pale and there were evident dark circles under his eyes showing that he had not slept throughout the night.
Elantha thought that he had been up all night crying due to the fact that he would be sent away from the castle that day, whereas Eryndor had forgotten about this due to the events of the previous night taking up al of his attention. To him it was just another day in the castle.
Feeling the silence linger longer than expected he gave his sister a wide smile and said. "Hey, Elantha I thought you hated gowns."
Elantha had been distraught that she would not see her nosy little brother for possibly a long time, she chose to wear her gown as per royal customs to see him off. She was surprised by the confidence her brother showed on the morning he would be sent off. "Oh, Eryndor!" She cried as she lunged forward and threw her arms around him, pulling him into a warm embrace.
Eryndor was first taken by surprise by her strange behaviour, the bond between him and his sister might have been the strongest one he had in the whole castle. A reason was due to the fact that she was also a troublemaker like him but she had her limits, another reason was that she was the only one who ever truly understood him. She was responsible for giving him advice and warnings, lots and lots of warnings.
"I can't stand to see you go Eryndor." She cried into his neck uncontrollably.
Eryndor felt warm tears roll down from his cheek to his neck, it was in tha moment he remembered. The events of the previous night came rushing back through his head, the fact that he would be sent away to meet his uncle who lived quite far from the major regions of the elf empire. Away from the family he had grown up to love.
He clutched tighter to his sister in the first and maybe last huge they would ever share as siblings. "I don't want to leave you Elantha."
They stayed there for a while longer, Elantha was the first to pull away. She smiled and ruffled his head. "Did I raise you to be a cry baby? Go clean up, dad wants to see you in his throne room. Don't keep him waiting."
She turned to leave only for Eryndor to hold on to her hand, the feeling of losing someone so precious to him was heartbreaking.
["Let her go kid. This is your cross to bear"]
The voice of his master was low, since Elantha did not react that must have meant that only he was able to hear the voice.
He sighed and reluctantly let go of her hand, doing so made his heart feel heavy. "Don't worry I won't keep dad waiting, nice hairdo by the way."
His sister snorted and then laughed for a short while before turning to face him with a weak smile and worried eyes. "You rascal." She walked back to him and leaned over their face inches away. She reached around her neck and took off her necklace which was a gold string with a long golden gem attached to the middle. In one swift motion she slipped it around his neck and pressed it to his chest.
"What's this?" He asked foolishly and cursed himself for it.
She smiled and said. "A good luck charm." With a heavy heart she turned and left him there.
He wanted to thank her, to say he would return a better person but he was too weak to. He did not feel he had the qualification to make such a statement. Pressing his hand on the gem he squeezed it tighter and said.
"Thank you Elantha, I won't ever forget you." But she was already gone. If it was indeed lucky he knew he would need the luck.
Then the legacy activated again:
[You have received an item]
He looked at the screen and sighed.
["What are you doing kid. Focus and check it out"]
"Oh, right!" Eryndor snapped out of his trance and shut his door gently before willing the screen of the legacy to appear, he was not sure if others could see it but there was no way he would take the chance.

Eryndor almost screamed in surprise. "Another divine thingie? What are the odds?"
His master commented.
["Even with your cursed attribute this is surely good luck. I knew the necklace was special"]
Eryndor shrugged. "Sure you did!"
["Hey what's with that tone?"] The eye barked at him.
"For a monarch you sure are noisy." Eryndor said as he undressed and made his way to his bath. "Did she really give it to me knowing what it was? Or did she know I might get into trouble that might kill me? No, that can't be right. If she did then she would have told me what this was, she gave it to me out of the goodness of her own heart."
["Don't go crying on me kid!"]
Eryndor screamed at the eye. "Who's crying?
