"So you chose me because I have a unique ability and power called Devouring Soul and Body?" Daniel raised his eyebrows. "Also, there's no one left of the Dragon Clan in this world?"
"Yes, this is so," the Dragon God said sorrowfully. "I can't sense any of the Dragon Clan, except if they are locked away by someone stronger than me—which I don't think is the likely case."
"Aren't you the Dragon God? Who would dare…" Daniel trailed off as realization struck.
*No one would dare kill someone under a god's protection… unless it was another god.*
"You caught on quickly," the Dragon God chuckled. His response confirmed Daniel's suspicion.
"Hell no! I disagree with this. Just send me back to Earth!" Daniel said hastily. *No way I'm making a god my enemy before even being reincarnated.*
One might think Daniel was fearful, but this wasn't about fear—it was about foolishness. Gods were incomprehensibly powerful.
"You can't go back. You will either be reborn or sink into oblivion," the Dragon God intoned.
"Let me ask a quick question: After I'm reborn, will I be a god or what?"
The Dragon God sighed. "You will begin from the very start."
"Why can't you just give me your strength? That'd make building my harem easier," Daniel pouted.
The Dragon God stared, speechless. *We're discussing saving my clan, and he's fixated on a harem?*
"Don't you need me to have kids to continue the Dragon bloodline?" Daniel grinned.
"You don't need to. Giving you my power would also hinder your comprehension of the Origin Dao," the Dragon God replied, leaving Daniel perplexed.
"Don't worry—you'll understand in time," the Dragon God added, amused by Daniel's confusion.
Daniel sighed. *This would've been easier if the Devouring Dragon God were alive…*
It felt like leaping into a grave he'd watched others dig.
"Don't worry about gods sensing you," the Dragon God said, reading his thoughts. "Your soul will remain human, even in a dragon's body."
"What do you mean?" Daniel frowned.
"You'll understand later," the Dragon God replied cryptically.
"Ugh, 'later' isn't an answer!"
"I won't simply grant you power and send you to die," the Dragon God continued. "I will fuse with your soul, transforming you into a true Devouring Dragon. You'll be the Dragon race's last hope—the final legacy of the strongest clan to exist. Your enemies will fear you, and in time, you'll surpass even me."
*"That's only when I'm strong,"* Daniel thought. *Without power, why would anyone fear me?*
He considered the offer. It *was* tempting. No anime/novel/manga lover would skip a fantasy-world rebirth.
Still…
"What's in it for me?" Daniel asked.
The Dragon God chuckled. "You are bold."
"I prefer realistic," Daniel corrected. "So far, I see a lot of risks. But what about the benefits?"
The God's smirk widened. "Then let us make a deal. You may ask for three things before your rebirth."
Daniel's eyes lit up. "Anything?"
"Within reason."
Daniel smirked. "Alright, first wish—I want unlimited wishes."
The Dragon God stared at him. "Denied."
Daniel shrugged. "Had to try."
The God sighed. "Make your real request."
Daniel rubbed his chin. "Alright. First wish—I want to be the most handsome, majestic, awe-inspiring dragon ever."
The Dragon God blinked. "…Out of everything, this is your first wish?"
"Do you know how many ugly monsters exist in fantasy worlds? Have you seen some of the hideous creatures people call dragons?" Daniel shuddered. "Nah, if I'm gonna be a dragon, I'm gonna be *the* dragon. The kind that makes goddesses swoon and enemies bow in awe."
The Dragon God sighed. "Fine. Your dragon form will be unmatched in beauty and majesty."
Daniel fist-pumped. *Step one to the ultimate harem: complete.*
The Dragon God gestured for him to continue.
"Second wish—I want a summoning skill," Daniel said. "Something that lets me call upon powerful beings to fight for me."
The Dragon God nodded. "Granted. You will receive the Dragonoid Summoning Skill, allowing you to summon powerful dragonoid beings from the remnants of our clan's will."
Daniel grinned. "Excellent. Minions acquired."
The Dragon God rolled his eyes. "And your final wish?"
Daniel's smirk widened. *This was the big one.*
"I wish to learn how to create my own system—and I want all the materials to do it."
The Dragon God went still. His celestial eyes locked onto Daniel's, filled with something unreadable.
Time itself seemed to pause.
For thirty whole seconds, they stared at each other in complete silence.
Finally, the Dragon God sighed. "Denied."
Before Daniel could even react, black flames surrounded him.
"WAIT, OLD MAN! YOU DIDN'T EVEN NEGOTIATE!"
"I have tolerated you enough," the Dragon God muttered. "Now, be reborn."
"YOU CAN'T DO ME LIKE THIS!"
"Good luck, Daniel."
"Old man, may your dick never stand up again! May it burn into ashes! Even if it stands, may you never cum!" Daniel cursed as he disappeared completely into the black vortex.
The Dragon God shivered upon hearing these wrathful and wicked curses. He quickly checked his "brother" down there and sighed in relief when he saw that everything was still intact.
If Daniel hadn't already disappeared, he would have beaten him black and blue, oath or not.
He sighed. "This brat is really going to cause trouble… and might just become the enemy of the world."
In an unknown place where cosmos spread like stars, destruction and rebirth are witnessed here, and the creation and death of life are shown like on television.
"Where creatures were surplus like water, everything still felt unreal yet real; it was as if this were the Origin of the whole universe."
An unknown being opened its eyes. "A variable has appeared in the universe," it muttered softly.
