"I'll pay," Eveline said without thinking through anything. She only wanted to get to know the person who was ugly enough to be the first person to ever be hated by her, also the prime numbers conjecture wasn't exactly simple. How did he find another way of solving it. Whatever way it was, he was going to tell her.
"Am starting, to think you're in love with me." Aurmin nonchalantly said before continuing;
"Aight, let's go on that date you are talking about." Aurmin looked absolutely cool when he was saying this not cause he wanted, but he just didn't know how a panicked expression looked like or how it sounded like. So he simply went ahead with his normal self. What was so bad about the date? The worst that could happen was Eveline saying she was joking.
"I was joking," Eveline rashly said and ran passed Aurmin.
"Sometimes, I wish my thinking could be wrong." Since she bailed, he was going to go and continue with what his day was supposed to be like.
Aurmin pocketed his hands and began Walking to the basketball field. He found a few people playing. It was not the day for his team to train, he just came here to pass time. His estimate was he would spend an hour here. Although it was sunny it wasn't so hot that he couldn't bounce around a ball.
He sat on the bench watching. He lifted his head up and saw an impressive seen. A girl with short black hair, with a light brown skin tone as if a product of a Canadian and an African. She wore a big white basketball vest. The chest beneath the shirt wasn't hidden in the slightest. Her tight white short added to her clothing.
She bounced the ball past four of the opposing players. And pretended to shoot, when the last player of the opposing team jumped a smile creeped onto her face. With the ball she came back down landed and bounced it then dunked after the opposing last player landed.
She held onto the net laughing. Then she let go and landed on her feet, she stood at a height of 5'6.
"That makes it 80-3, I guess my team wins again," she jumped down and walked back to her teammates who were cheering for her.
"Wow, Chelsey you showed them who's boss around." The four friends hugged Chelsey.
Chelsey found a way and slipped away from her active friends and walked to the bench Aurmin was now seated on. She had put her towels in the bag under the bench.
Aurmin watched her until she sat next to him on the bench.
"Am pretty cool right?" Chelsey asked as she pointed for him to pass her the bag underneath the bench. She could have done it herself but he was closest. She was slightly wary of her sweaty self, she didn't want to sit close because she didn't want him smelling her.
"I suggest, you stand up and come get it on your own. Also yes, you were pretty call going up against those whinny guys." Aurmin spoke truthfully. A term losing that was an armature team. According to his logic that was the only accurate guess.
Chelsey got annoyed by his response. Not only did he not want to pass him the bag, but he also could there opponents trash. A being so disgusting existed?
"You're such a gentleman," she said sarcastically as she walked close to Aurmin and pulled her bag from under the bench and began wiping the sweat from her.
"Flattery won't take you anywhere." Aurmin got up when he noticed the team that lost was leaving. So were Chelsey's teammates.
"Are you challenging me?" Chelsey put her towel back in the bag then looked at the ball on the middle of the court.
"congratulations you figured it out. But let me warn you. With your skills this is a 50-0 You're agreeing to," Aurmin fixed his head sock and walked to the ball.
"Are you a prophet? Or you have foresight as your super power?" Chelsey walked back into the court and watched Aurmin pick up the ball.
"Prophet? No, I also don't have super powers. It's just that one can't escape reality." From there he shoot the ball and performed a three pointer.
This shot caught Chelsey by surprise. Did this just perform a half court score? How good was he?
"Let's make a bet?" Chelsey suggested.
Aurmin with his gloomy expression stared at her and said;
"Okay, am up."
Chelsey walked and picked up the ball with a smile;
"The loser will be the winners bodyguard and will not deny anything the winner ask them to do for a whole month. Still up?" She picked up the ball.
"well, I don't mind. Because I know I won't lose. What I told you will happen." After hearing Aurmin's words she started bouncing the ball while running towards Aurmin.
...
Twenty minutes later, Chelsey sat on the ground feeling embarrassed and angry. How did this happen? She was the best basketball player in the school team, So she heard. But now? Now she had been completely destroyed by this unknown person. Was he a first year? That would make her feel more embarrassed.
"I told you this would happen." Aurmin passed her the ball and walked away;
"Am Aurmin by the way." He announced and kept walking.
"Am Chelsey. Wait, how do I contact you?!" She questioned now wondering if he took there bet seriously.
He ignored her and walked away.
Even more frustrated she punched her soft arm on the ball.
"Damn him," after being angry for a few minutes she realized something. The name the boy said.
«he is Aurmin? Is he the guy who would have completed university in her first year? I also heard he was good with sport. Damn such a genius exists? Am a freaking third year for gods sake.» she sat there questioning her self before getting up.
"I'll defeat you one day Aurmin!" She vowed to herself.
