Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

'Hmm, maybe beasts are actually ahead, since any beast that cultivates has this suppression. It only strengthens after they awaken their intelligence, and from then on, each realm has a stronger suppression, until it reaches a level of complete supremacy.

Humans, as an example, have to specifically cultivate their will to defend against this… probably the only that can rival it somewhat are the imperial cultivators that absorb the fortune of the country to cultivate… still, there are only so few imperial cultivators, while every beast has this effect…'

Lu sat down where the young man sat previously, took out a simple cloth and put in the six, four and two vials one behind the other.

He took out a pen with ink, both of which are mortal items. He simply willed his spiritual power into the items and wrote in clear words 'Poison' on the bottom of the cloth. In fact, if one wanted to use this ability of controlling items properly and better, one would have to learn a technique or have extremely good talent in using spiritual power.

Naturally if one only does simple tasks such as the one Lu is doing now, there is no need for this.

He closed his eyes and waited without saying anything. Anyone who had a discerning eye in the market would quickly look at the new arrivals, so it wouldn't be long before people would look at his items.

And it indeed didn't take long until four people arrived, two in the middle stage of qi refining and one in early and late stage respectively. Others also glanced at his stall and when they saw what was written, they distanced themselves directly.

The four waiting in front without saying anything. When Lu saw that no one else was coming, he opened his eyes and said slowly "The six are of lower quality, work slower and are very visible, can be used as a powder. The four are don't have a taste, only a slight colour, and a slight smell. They work well when added to drinks or put on weapons, the effect works fast on open wounds.

The two are gaseous, have no smell nor taste, but any experienced person will detect them after short contact with it. All three are the same poison with the effect of numbing the nerves and killing them slowly, the last is the fast to react and they need ten, five and one minute based on an average late-stage qi refiner."

Yong Lu didn't plan to hide the effect of the poison. In fact, even if he hid it, it didn't matter. The poison wasn't his strongest, and in the end, even if one knew of this poison, he doubted whether one could effectively find an antidote.

Although he didn't say it because he isn't sure, and he doesn't know how far this world is in poison research, Earth itself is very advanced technologically. Although he was young and only a junior researcher, he saw many documents and knew that most poison was curable as long as it is cured early enough, yet still his mutation of the poison dart frog didn't react to the antidote at all.

In fact, he suspected that the antidote sped up the poisoning, it might be because antidotes generally also consist of poison and the normal poison dart frog antidote might've boosted the mutated one. All these things weren't stuff he knew, since he had died already. These were only guesses that would have to be further verified by him.

The early-stage cultivator looked at him weirdly "How can this poison be so effective? Do you have proof? Why should we believe you?"

Yong Lu looked at him weirdly. He might be new to this world, but from the memories he got, he knew that this was definitely not something you'd ask at a black market. Here there was a general rule: if you want it, buy it, if not, fuck off.

Anyways, he was curious, although all his knowledge came from the depth of his mind, he didn't verify any of it just yet. It can be understood that this knowledge is an inheritance of sorts in this world, from Yong Lu's memory, this was something that would occur to every beast as long as they awaken their intelligence.

In fact, Yong Lu was curious whether this data could be trusted. A heavenly gift that suddenly came with his memories, he accepted it like it was nothing, but now that he is contemplating on it after being confused about many things, he feels that this world is really magical and might be more biased towards beasts than he thought.

"Do you want to test it?" Yong Lu asked as he took out a little vial. "It's similar to the one in the six vials" he said, thinking that he should probably give it a name. He might do so later on, but in his current situation, if he followed the naming rules he was used to, he'd just name them all according to their effect, visual, and add a number on top of it. MutatedPoisonDartFrogPoisonPowder 1.0 is somewhat of a long name even for him.

The early-stage qi refiner looked excited. 'Was this his goal, getting a test vial?' Yong Lu didn't care and said, "You have to test it here if you want it."

The cultivator looked a little dissatisfied, but he still took out a little power and poured in into his hand. He didn't smell nor taste it, only looked at it for a second before saying "I will take it with me to test it-" he was just about to go away when his hand numbed, which dropped the poison on the ground.

Yong Lu shook his head and waves his hand; the powder that nearly landed on the ground was gathered into the little vial which flew towards him again.

The cultivator was shocked, but he wasn't able to say anything, in just a few more seconds, his mouth numbed, followed by his other limbs, and slowly his whole body was numb and only his eyes darting around were visible. If he didn't have the body of a cultivator, he would've fallen down, but now he looked like a statue made of flesh.

The other three looked at Lu with a bit of shock, and sneered at them "Who is so stupid as to 'test' a poison by themselves?" He really didn't think he'd use the small vial. The other three didn't say anything. It was a stranger to them anyways and they were happy.

Since it had such a strong effect on the early-stage cultivator, it was likely that the late-stage cultivator would also be affected. As for the ten minutes Yong Lu said, they thought that this was likely the time it took for the body of a cultivator to die, but the early effect of numbness is strong enough.

Anyways, they were many things to consider, and they weren't willing to sacrifice themselves to test this. The minimum to test it would be a cultivator of this stage or a beast a small stage lowers with a strong body. The cost of this was too high.
