And so, Tang Xi defeated the Nine Supremes but not without a price; he was low on health and energy.
He limped his way to the nine Supremes and his figure soon loomed above them. He gazed at them, his eyes filled with a mixture of amusement and a tinge of pain.
"Who will believe that the great warriors of the council, the legendary nine supreme were defeated by me?"
I guess it sounds impossible…." Tang xi mumbled to himself.
Vorgath groaned, and rolled over facing upwards.
"Go on son of a bitch, go on. Kill us to avenge your shitty clan. You will not gain even a single thing from us." Vorgath chuckled.
"I will when I want but before I do, Let's have a little chat."Tang Xi paused, allowing his words to sink in.
"On the day you destroyed my clan, the Tang clan because of our heirloom, I was right outside the window listening…watching as you killed my father, the clan head and the rest of my family. "
"I guess you are one lucky bastard then." Sera cursed.
Never did they imagine that the only survivor they were searching for was right outside the window, maybe less than fifty meters away from them. He is really a lucky bastard.
Tang xi shook his head, knowing what he went through after the destruction of the Tang clan.
"To hell with luck" he thought.
"I achieved everything on my own."
Nevertheless, he continued.
"On that day, you took away the God Saber from our clan and for all I know, only a member of the Tang clan can wield the God Saber. I'm sure I overheard you say you were going to leave someone alive…someone who would wield the God saber for the council." He paused.
He continued after a moment lapse into silence.
"As far as I know, I am the only one who survived your onslaught but your plan says otherwise. Now tell me who is the motherfucker that is wielding the god saber ?"
Gareth, also one of the nine Supremes chuckled…well, not exactly a chuckle but a laugh of pain.
"You think you are the wise one. You will never guess who the survivor is not until he reveals himself." His voice sounded hoarse as he spoke.
"Well, you can take your secret to hell. I won in the end and will still win in the future…"
"Who said that you won?" Vorgath spoke, standing up weakly.
"What?"
Is something wrong with these fools?
If these is not considered a win then what is?
His eyes roamed their faces; each of them wore a smug expression. What the hell?
No matter how he tried to reason it, he couldn't decipher the intent behind the smug look on their faces. And then, the answer struck him like a lightening and his face turned ashen with dread.
Damnation…
"You must have realized it…"
"The palace master is here."
Tang xi turned his face and stared into the distance and a figure flying in the air entered his line of sight.
The palace master was flying in the air with the true grace of an expert. His aura felt attuned to nature and each step in the air made the atmosphere ripple with energy. Yet, Tang xi couldn't see a speck of energy in him however his presence made him unable to breathe.
He didn't realize it but his heart was racing furiously with fear. It wasn't his fault though, anyone in his position would definitely be.
Who in the world wouldn't be scared if a sage tier expert was coming to hunt him? A sage expert was at the top of the cultivation chain as the sage plane was the peak of cultivation in their world. Though, it was a realm above the immortal plan, the difference was just too vast. The difference between them was akin to the chasm between heaven and earth. Tens of immortal…no, hundreds of immortal wasn't a match for a true sage realm expert.
The palace master hovered in the air above them; his eyes fell on the eight Supremes and contempt flashed in them. The eight supreme bowed to the palace master in deference with a tinge of embarrassment on their faces.
"I assume you have destroyed one of my lackeys" the palace master spoke to Tang Xi upon seeing eight of the nine Supremes.
The palace master hands were behind his back like a Buddha priest. His white hair glistened in the moonlight and the lines etched onto his face were juxtaposed to his divine appearance, making him appear like the angel of death.
"It's just because he is weak." Tang Xi responded,
"Hmm…I understand he is weak and so are you. Since us both understand each other, spare me the trouble by killing yourself."
Tang Xi was flabbergasted.
Are you serious? Spare me that crap."Tang xi harrumphed. A black voice transmission jade was hidden in his left palm and was giving off a subtle glow.
Common.... Krad, I need you to come to the northern plain at fastest speed.
He infused his thought into the jade card. The jade card was like akin to a modern day phone. It is used to transmit information into anyone who has his energy signature on the card.
The palace master gazed at him, his face solemn.
"I wonder where your confidence comes from."
Tang Xi chuckled.
"Stop blundering before me. According to the rule of sages, no sage must kill an expert below the sage realm. So I guess you should be leaving."
The palace master's solemn expression cracked into a wonderful smile and for once, the nine…sorry, the eight supreme were thrown into confusion.
Heck, has the palace master gone crazy?
"I can't kill you..."the palace master began. "But I can restrict you and assist in the killing. As long as I don't kill you directly, then there is no problem."
The smile drained off Tang Xi face and without hesitation, he fled. The palace master scoffed, and Tang xi was slammed into the ground.
The sages were capable of using the world's energy, turning into their own and here he was thinking of fleeing from a sage. Moreover, he wasn't in his peak state.
Come on Krad…come assist me so that I can escape"
Krad was his guy and best buddy and both of them hated the council to the very core. With the help of his friend, he hoped to escape because killing a sage realm expert was impossible.
He gripped his katana tightly and faced the palace master.
"Don't expect me to go down without a fight."
Mustering the last energy he could summon, he swung his katana, releasing a furious roar.
"Endgame"
A dazzling bright light erupted from Tang Xi's katana, obliterating the surrounding space and leaving a void in its wake. Although, it was not as powerful as the first time he displayed the technique having lost much of his energy, it strength was not to be underestimated.
The eight Supremes paled in fright and subconsciously, they moved behind the palace master.
A diabolical smile formed on the edges of the palace master's lips.
"Break" his voice sounded ghostly yet the immense power it carried made the surrounding quake, obliterating Tang xi's attack.
Tang Xi fell to his knees, his breath rising and falling in great gasp.
"Feel the might of a true sage" the palace master pointed finger at Tang Xi and a huge amount of energy gathered like a storm. Tang Xi's sense screamed of danger but poor him, he couldn't move. Quickly, he summoned all his defensive treasures…at least he should survive the attack.
Boom…. Space shattered like glass and Tang Xi was sent five hundred feets below the sea level.
Five minutes later, he crawled out of the deep crater and slumped to the side. His breath was ragged and weak and he had sores for tattoo.
However, his eyes burned with the resolve to survive.
"I…I must avenge the T…Tang clan. I mu..st not fall to the council" he mumbled.
Standing up weakly, he leaned on his blade.
Where the hell is Krad?
Before he was imprisoned in the immortal dungeon, his buddy is Krad. The two were famous for their perfectly joined combat. The bond between them was strong; a bond forged from the blood of their enemies and Tang Xi hoped to survive the onslaught of the palace master with the help of his friend.
As if to answer his unspoken thought, a shadow was seen fleeting across the sky and landed near them.
Fortunately…Tang Xi groaned. The chances of escaping the palace master had increased from zero to two percent.
And that was the last thing he remembered before a huge wave of dizziness struck him like a bolt of lightning and his mind slurred into slumber
….a slumber forever.
Even at the time of his death, his diabolic grin remained.
His lips moved weakly as if to say.
"I will return."
