"I'll get the revenge I want," she answered with so much hurt in her eyes.
"You're foolish for thinking you'll get anything after doing that when the blunt truth here is that you'll lose far more than you bargained for." With that, Psalm turned and walked away to Kervin's surprise.
"Wait!" The woman stopped him and got up on her feet with tears in her eyes. Psalm stopped and faced her with a calm look.
"What then do you suggest I do?" She asked, to Kervin's dismay.
"Don't listen to his advice! He'll lead you astray," Kervin warned her but the woman ignored him.
"I suggest you continue to live your life even though it's going to be difficult. And, take your time to heal until you find it within yourself to forgive him…. However, don't take too long." Psalm advised and walked away in confidence because he knew deep down that he was able to convince her.
"Are you seriously going to listen to that rubbish? Forgive him? After everything he put you through?" Kervin angrily tried to poison her mind and Patricia became conflicted.
"I want to be alone," she said instead and it annoyed Kervin.
"You summoned me so I can't leave just like that," he tactfully said and she faced him in shock.
She actually didn't really think a demon would show up after trying to summon one but shockingly, here was one.
At that shocking revelation, she turned to look at the other person who was walking away.
"If you're a demon… then what is he?" She asked but Kervin didn't answer, rather, he vanished in annoyance because she wasn't ready to give in.
Her eyes widened as she staggered backward in shock while covering her mouth to stop herself from screaming.
It was real!
He really came.
She stood there staring at that spot until it finally dawned on her that since she met the demon then the other person must be an angel.
*******
By the time Psalm got to the roadside, Kervin materialized himself beside him.
"Did you manipulate her back there?"
"Why would I do such a thing?" Psalm casually asked without looking at the demon.
"You know I can easily report you to heaven for breaking a rule right?" Kervin threatened.
"And who told you that's a rule in heaven?" Psalm inquired and faced the demon while arching an eyebrow in a questioning manner.
"Let's make a deal."
"I don't do deals, Kervin," Psalm said and was about to leave when Kervin appeared on the other side he wanted to follow.
"Then what do you do? How about a competition?"
"No," Psalm refused and teleported himself out of there.
"What an annoying human being," Kervin hissed and teleported himself to another location.
When he went back to the orphanage home, a different Aunty answered him and let him in. This time she didn't ask him who he was looking for since she already knew.
Kervin casually moved to the corner Hazel usually sat and ran his fingers along the armchair while smiling.
"Kervin."
At the call of his name, he smiled and turned to face her. She had her arms folded against her bosom as she gave him a stern look.
"How about we start afresh. Will you go out with me?" He politely asked and Hazel narrowed her eyes at him in suspicion.
"Before you refuse, how about giving it a try. I suggest you don't judge me by what Psalm might've told you. Judge me when you get to know me," he suggested and the frown on Hazel's face vanished.
"Fine. But if my instincts still don't feel right about you even after getting to know you, you'll have to stop," she said and he smiled without bothering to nod or answer.
How could he agree to that?
"One more thing Hazel."
"What's that?" She inquired with a frown on her forehead as he approached her.
"I'm not a gentleman and I don't wait until I'm permitted to do something, rather, I just do them."
At his words, Hazel frowned and was about to say something when he unexpectedly leaned in and kissed her.
