The hushed conversation between Sophie and Elisabeth brought awkwardness to the table, Raiden on the other hand didnt know what to do or how to help. So, he focused on his meal, which was more important at the moment. Though he did feel bad for Sophie's father, based on her mumbling and her angry expression, he figured that Mr. Turner would probably be sleeping on the couch that night.
Sophia, the little girl looked a little distraught, she knew that she had done something wrong. But her small brain couldnt comprehend what she had done wrong.
"Eli... Did I say something wrong?" Sophia asked.
Immediately her babysitter replied with a forced smile, "No dear you did not." While gnashing her teeth, Elisabeth continued, "But Papa did.. And he would pay for it." She mumbled the last part in a low tone "He would pay for it with his life." But Raiden heard it.
Sophia looked a little relieved hearing this, she then turned towards him, "Mr. Hampshire, do you mind if I ask you a question?"
Gulping the spoonful of stew, he smiled, "What is it dear?"
"You are an Inspector right?" He nodded, "Then what do you do in your job?"
He shifted in his seat, "Well.. I will have to do a lot of things. My job would be to oversee and catch any troublemakers around the town. While also, protecting the town from any Aether Beast attack that might take place."
"Woah!" She exclaimed excitedly, "So you would be like a Hero Adam, going around helping people and defeating bad people and slaying monsters."
Raiden smiled, "Yes, you can say so. I might not be as strong as Adam, the Great… But I am strong enough to handle anything that means harm to the town."
Sophia then bloomed with a smile on her face, "Mr. Hampshire, do you know the story of Adam, The Great?"
"Of course, I know it. Who wouldn't?" It was a very famous fairy tale, one of his favorites when he was a kid. He vaguely remembers a kind voice of a woman, probably his mother, who used to recite the story to him.
"Then do you believe the Hero defeated thousands of demons, fighting continuously for three days? Because I have this friend named Jacob, he says that it is not possible to do so. Even a aether wielder wouldn't be able to fight continuously for that long."
Raiden didnt know what to say. According to the story of Hero Adam, it has been written that he indeed fought his enemies in that manner. The story tells the tale of Adam, who fought the world's natural enemy, The Demon King's Army, for three days, continuously. He didnt know whether this tale was true or not, after all, it was just a fairy tale.
"Sophie," Elisabeth spoke, "How can Mr. Hampshire tell you that?"
"But he must know, right? If he is an Inspector then he must be an aether wielder. He must know"
He then took over, "Well, aether wielders are known to be known for their physical prowess, so it might have been possible."
"Might have been?" Sophia asked confusingly, "Are you not sure? You are an aether wielder as well right? How are you not sure?"
"Eh.." He mumbled didnt what to say, but Sophia was done yet, "When I become an aether wielder when I grow up, I will be just like Adam. I will fight the evil people and protect everyone!"
He smiled, and Elisabeth also smiled hearing her words. Raiden then looked at Sophia's mother and subtly asked her, "Does anyone in her family… have.. Pure blood?" She subtly shook her head.
That did break his heart a little bit. Sophie's intentions might be pure, but there was little chance that she would become an aether wielder in the future. It is a noted phenomenon that the ability to wield aether is passed down the lineage through blood. Normal beings can never awaken as an aether wielder, that is the truth of the world. In his case, his mother was an aether wielder, and so was his father. That is why when he was little, his mother was sure that he would surely become an aether wielder one day.
Raiden talked to a little girl a little more and ended their conversation when he noticed how close he was to the 100% download completion. He didnt know what would happen when installation would be complete, but he figured it would be for the best if he was in an isolated place when it happened, rather than to be out here…
When he entered his inn's room, he ignored everything in the room and came to sit down on his bed. And as soon as he sat down, the golden window enlarged itself, covering his whole sight.

Welcome Raiden Legovich Dyrion.
______________
Ayo! What? He was taken aback, his name was Raiden Hampshire, not Raiden Legovich Dyrion.
Why is a Legovich after my name? I am not a noble, my mother was just a mercenary. And Dyrion? Does it mean to say that I am related to The Dyrion Family, one of the Imperial Clans of United Clans of Arcane?
His reaction was normal for a person like him. Legovich on the continent of Arcane is used by heirs of the Nobles Clans, to distinguish themselves from the other lesser cousins or siblings who share their family name. The word Legovich had a lot of power in this world and possessing the word in one's name is considered a very big thing.
According to the window, his family name was the same as the one of the Imperial Clans of his country. Which seems impossible to him.
Before the country of UCA was formed, their country was divided between 7 clans or seven kingdoms, but to find peace, all clans came together and formed the country today known as the United Clans of Arcane. Possessing the family name of an Imperial Clan is considered very important, even if he is the most backward member of the Imperial Clan is treated with respect in the society.
He didnt know whether this window was a prank, or something more sinister was at play here. But he didnt take any information from the window to heart, after all, how can he be a noble? There was just no way…
