Chapter 17 - Vyrax

Lex gritted his teeth as he clutched even tighter

to the staff. This weapon, right here...was supposed to grant him immense power. However, even after he went through to acquire it, it had dared to still not accepted him for some damned

reason.

He had awakened into a One Star Cultivator, with four stars to go. But he was still very much behind, so far that every other Deity In this realm was at least three Stars.

It didn't seem like much, but the amount of time it would take him to get to Three Stars was just so much. Almost too much.

So for the mean time, he had to use the power of the Staff and his breathing technique to make up for the huge difference. Even that, wouldn't be enough to battle the real power houses.

Lex was surprised at the form that materialiazed in front of him.

"What is that..." Lex swallowed.

The huge man was just as big as every other Celestial, but he seemed to have been corrupted as Lex couldn't sense Divine energy in this being that gave off an evil Aura. The mere thought of it sent chills down Lex's spine, this was nothing but evil, pure evil.

"W-Who are you?" Lex asked, surprised. No one had warned him of this. The Huge man laughed,

revealing a tongue that was as black as death. Slowly, he spoke.

"I... Sense... Fear."

Lex frowned, he clutched the spear closer to himself, placing it in front of himself, as if preparing to battle. The Huge man laughed.

"Ah, pardon me.... My lord..." The Huge man started to a take a step further, a smile still spread out on the darkness he called a mouth.

"Stop!" Lex yelled, a wall of fire suddenly appearing between he and the huge man. If Lex had a phobia, then it was probably cacophobia, and the irritation that this man came with.

The Large man stopped, his smile suddenly clearing as he saw the familiar blue flames.

"You... You are his Successor. aren't you?" The large man spoke.

Lex furrowed his brows. he didn't quite understand, but he could totally guess what the man was getting at. "I am Vyrax, the Sixh Supreme Deity of the kingdom Of Heaven, and you.. must be... the eighth?" The man spoke, startling Lex.

Lex frowned deeply. "Why was a fallen Supreme Deity here? I mean, their remnants or Souls could

be here, but this..."

Lex took a step backward. The Huge man stepped forward. "You, You are... a mortal, a mere Human"

Lex bit his lips, staring at Vyrax.

Vyrax's gaze narrowed. "You... You fear. You don't even have the courage to face an enemy, and yet, you are here. Why?"

Lex was starting to get annoyed. "I don't see how it concerns you."

Vyrax chuckled. "So finally, you dare to speak reasonable words...? Unfortunately...not smart ones"

Lex took down the wall of fire and took a step closer to Vyrax. He had been taking his time before because he thought the corrupted thing standing in front of him had been part of the test, but clearly... it wasn't. Lex stood right in front of Vyrax, highlighting the humongous size difference between them. Lex stared up at the fallen deity. His expression cold, serious and fearless.

"Hey, Mr. Vyrax, how about you don't get involved in the affairs of the heavens realm anymore? I don't think you should, after all... You have nothing to do with them any longer. You are now...a washed up Deity, a corrupted entity, a demon...perhaps?"

Vyrax chuckled slightly, then his face suddenly turned serious. "Don't adorn me with your puny mortal titles!"

With that, he grabbed Lex's neck, but the little human was very quick. Lex tilted his head out of the way and threw a fire-propelled blow at Vyrax, the impact sending Vyrax flying a small distance away.

Slowly, he stood up, a mirthless laugh escaping his blackened mouth. "You have readhed one Star already... not bad for one of your kind. A million others of your race won't be able to!"

Vyrax lunged at Lex, a dark mist forming a sword that he swung quickly at Lex's head.

Lex was stunned for a moment; that was a great sword, and it was even bigger than the titan-sized Vyrax. It was coming at him with such speed and power—how was he going to dodge that? The sword was on him in a heartbeat.

Lex quickly raised the staff, using it to parry the attack. Unfortunately for him, he still couldn't access the divine powers of the staff, so the staff didn't absorb the dark attack. But it was still strong enough to keep Lex alive for now.

Vyrax raised his free hand and landed a blow on the staff that was on Lex's hand.

The impact was floor-shattering, no it really was...
