Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - I Love You, Truck-kun!

"My Lady! My Lady! Wake up!"

My eyes shot open at the unfamiliar voice as I jerked up from a soft mattress I could never afford in my lifetime.

My head was pounding like I'd been hit by a cart, and the moment I looked around, I froze.

Gone were my peeling wallpaper and squeaky bedframe of my apartment. Instead, I was in some ridiculously ornate room dripping in gold and velvet—like a palace threw up on itself.

Everything in the room screamed rich.

Where the f**k did I land? I still need to cut that bast**d Wei's little d**k for cheating! Ugh! This pain...

Just when, I thought I could sleep in the luxurious bed for a moment longer to reduce my headache. A low shrieky voice made me aware that I had company.

"My Lady!" The voice belonged to a tiny woman,b probably cosplaying as a maid in a frilly apron, her face twisted in pure panic as if I'd asked her to set the world on fire.

The poor thing looked ready to faint, her hands clutched together so tight her knuckles were white.

"You're awake!" she gasped, and then she added in a trembling whisper, "I-I'm sorry if I was too loud, please don't punish me."

Punish her? Why would I do that?

Wait. My Lady? Did she just—oh no.

I scrambled out of the bed, nearly tripping over my own legs because what the actual hell am I wearing? A gown? With enough lace to suffocate a small village?

I somehow dragged myself to the mirror.

"No way," I muttered, gasping. "No freakin' way."

But it was unmistakable.

The absurdly large mirror in the corner that showed my reflection must be laughing at me. Because I was her!

Black hair cascading down like a waterfall and greenish blue eyes... so clear as if they were waters of a freshwater lake.

A gasp left my lips.

Truck - kun... May you live a long and happy life!

There was no doubt in it. No doubt that I was Evelina Duskthorne. The villainess of my bestselling novel - Flowers And Dragon.

Just when I thought my life came to a stop with that jerk Han Wei cheating on me. God gave me a new life! Now! Now! I can meet my bias... Witness my story... Oh f**k! I need to make a bucket list... There are so many th-

Wait... Evelina is executed on 56th Day Of Imperial Year 287 for the import of forbidden substances. It wasn't Evelina who imported them. But, the white-lotus heroine's lover who did it to frame Evelina.

No! No! I can't just die yet! Truck-kun, finally chose me! The opportunity shall not be wasted.

"Umm... What date is it today?"

"73rd Day Of Imperial Year 279, My Lady."

My heart sank like a stone tossed into a bottomless well.

Eight years. I had eight f**king years to stop myself from becoming imperial history.

Tomorrow is my debut in the royal banquet. Prince Adrian will fall for me and the heroine will start getting jealous...

Ugh! Crazy people... Wait! I wrote those crazy people. Does that mean I'm crazier?

I guess it does.

Not like I have any problem in being crazy.

Out of syllabus, Ji-eun! Focus!

Information! First, I need information. If I was going to survive, I couldn't just live as Evelina Duskthorne. I had to become her.

In transmigration novels, the stories have more background apart from the story written. I need a way to get that background information.

I turned back to the maid, who was still trembling like a leaf caught in a hurricane. "What's your name?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm, even though my insides felt like they were staging a mutiny.

Calm down, Ji-eun. Slowly. First, we need to recall everything from chapter one.

"L-Lila, My Lady," she squeaked, wringing her hands.

"Well, Lila," I said, straightening my back and channeling every ounce of authority I didn't feel. "Get me a notebook and a quill. Now."

Her eyes widened, and for a second, she looked like she might faint. "Y-Yes, My Lady!" she stammered before scurrying out of the room like her life depended on it.

Good. I have to be very careful. The Duke doesn't like Evelina. If he suspects I'm possessed, he'll waste no time in killing me.

I sank back onto the ridiculous bed, the lace of my gown puffing around me like a suffocating cloud.

Eight years.

Eight years to rewrite the my destiny in this story. But... I didn't even complete the story. Truck-kunnnnnn! Couldn't you at least transmigrate me into a completed novel of mine.

Ugh!! Forget it, Ji-eun... No. Eve. You get to meet Kael! That's more important. Oh god! I'm going to meet the hottie I wrote! Ahhhh!

The door creaked open as I tried to maintain a neutral expression. Lila shuffled back in, holding a small notebook and quill like they were holy relics. "H-Here you are, My Lady," she said, bowing so low I thought she might tip over.

"Thank you, Lila." I gave her a smile—not too warm, not too cold. Just enough to keep her from running out screaming. "Stay nearby. I'll might need you again soon."

"I... My Lady..."

"Yes?"

"Thank you? Are you going to kill me, My Lady?" Tears appeared in Lila's eyes as she crashed down on her knees.

"No? If you want to die then let me know. I just have to issue an order, right?"

Lila froze, staring up at me like I'd grown a second head. "My... My Lady, please spare me! I have a family to take care of."

"Then, act normal." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose as Lila stared at me confused and scared to the core.

"Lila," I said slowly, crouching to meet her eye level, "you're not dying today. Or tomorrow. Or any other day unless I decide to burn this house down with everyone in it. So, stop this over-acting. Are we clear?"

Her face turned pale, and she nodded so frantically I thought her neck might snap.

"Good. Now, get up. I have a little amnesia, you see. So, start vomiting what happened to me. Before, I decide to take your life."

Wow... This is more fun than I thought. I love you, Truck-kun!

"Y-Yes, My Lady!"
