The two of them ate their food and got into the carriage. They didn't feel sleepy because none of them was afflicted with the side effect of the blood pill. But the carriage was still silent.
The only thing that could be heard was the sound of intensive breathing and a dog occasionally barking. The sound of intensive breathing was the sound of the two of them training their breathing technique.
The two of them don't take breaks using their breathing technique while Ruff barks at the birds and other animals they pass by in the carriage.
They were so focused on what they were doing that they didn't realize that they had gotten home. The driver had to call out to them to inform them.
Arthur opened the door and dropped out of the carriage. He thought to himself, "I'll take some blood pills and sleep. Then I'll wake up, kill a sheep, and butcher it before exercising again."
He has his day completely planned. The only free time he has is when he eats and when he wakes up early to acquire donations of bread from his neighbors for distribution. The rest of his time is mostly spent training.
It reminds him of the lives of high-achieving children on Earth who are always busy with homework or extracurricular activities. He was never such a kid in his past life. But he has become one in this life.
He grumbled inwardly. "Not that there is anything fun to do with my time here. This place is boring. I miss Earth so much."
The main thing he misses about Earth is the various ways to entertain himself.
He used to miss his family when he first came to Ethera. But he is over that now. It is mainly because he was mostly detached from them. That detachment has only been exasperated by the fact that he hasn't seen them in years.
He was too busy with his business empire and didn't spare much time for his family. Even when he was with them, he was just the guy that lived in their house and paid their bills.
Woek was his mistress, and he enjoyed their dalliance too much. He has replaced work with physical backbreaking work now, but he isn't enjoying it.
Thinking about it made him chuckle. Ruff perked up and barked at him.
He chuckled harder and rubbed Ruff's head. "Of course there's you. How could I forget you?"
He went into the house, had his bath, took a major blood, ate some more, and then went to sleep. Then he woke up 3 hours later to finish the rest of his day.
He repeated this schedule with few pauses. The only time he paused was during family events that he needed to attend.
He didn't stop when he had his fourth transformation after six months of intensive training. He continued to train as if he were a soldier preparing for war.
He didn't even stop when he became eight years old and celebrated his birthday. But he had to pause when the training facility was having its graduation ceremony.
Lady Vena made sure that he was dressed. Then she got into a carriage with her maids and him.
The carriage took them to the training facility where the graduation ceremony would be held. The day was hot, so the insides of the carriage had become an oven.
It was so hot that it made his bad mood worse. He said to no one in particular, "We could be sleeping right now. Or even relaxing in the shade of our house. Instead, we put ourselves into stuffy clothes and entered a carriage that I am willing to bet can cook chicken only to go and watch a day of pageantry."
Lady Vena was being fanned by the two maids, but she still felt hot. So she was willing to concede that he had a point.
She said, "You're right, but we have to go. The graduation ceremony is the biggest event in the outer court. It is one thing that we didn't care about it when you were not a student. But it is customary that every student and their parent attend it whenever it holds."
He countered by saying, "But I won't be attending the training facility anymore. So there is no need to do this."
Lady Vena didn't concede. She said, "We still need to put up a show for them. Today is a good day to do so."
Then she said to tease him, "Who knows? You might even find a pretty girl you like there."
He rolled his eyes and said, "I'm eight, mother."
She scoffed. "No one will believe that."
He truly didn't look like he was eight years old. He looks to be at least fourteen. His body transformations have caused his body to develop faster than normal.
He also doesn't speak or act like an eight-year-old boy. That had been the case since he was three. So no one was going to believe that he was eight.
Be that as it may, he wasn't going to let his own mother lead him astray. He only had one thing on his mind for the moment. That is to return home to continue training.
He wondered to himself, "What should I do next? Which aspect should I focus on for now?"
He looked to his system for the answer.
