Poppy's eyes ping-ponged between the two, and she jolted once the assistant shut the office door.
This was... awkward. Who was the woman? His lover?
"Um…Mr. Winslow, I can leave and come back if—"
"Who is she, Xav?" Vivien repeated, and she looked at her, then at Xavian.
From the look in his eyes, it was obvious he was pissed off, and now Poppy wasn't sure why he stood up and began stalking straight towards her, ignoring the woman whose expression was…furious?
"Mr. Winslow…?"
She could feel the heat of his glare even as he hunched and leaned in, whispering, "Go along with it."
"Huh? Go along with wha—"
Xavian grabbed the back of her head, tilting her face up and crushing their lips together.
The pills she held slipped to the floor.
Shock was an understatement of what Poppy felt, body stilling completely like a statue, the sound of her beating heart fading in her ears.
