In a luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom, Long Feng Jian and Long Haitian were seated in the backseats as the chaffeur drove to their location.
Long Haitian kept peeping at his brother with small glances while trying to be careful not to be noticed.
He pretended to be absorbed in his game on the phone but he was actually wondering what was going through his brother's head most of the time. He was serious, always.
"If you want to speak, speak. Stop peeping, it's annoying." Long Feng Jian spoke while glancing calmly at Haitian.
Long Haitian scratched his head awkwardly "It's nothing brother but—sometimes I wonder if you ever do anything other than look like you're about to wage war. Relax a bit. It's good for you."
Long Feng Jian raised a brow. Long Haitian smiled and continued on seeing as he was still safe.
"Look at brother Ten. He's as—he's almost as serious as you but he still knows how to have fun. Come on brother. If you want, I know some really beautiful friends who'd like to meet you."
The moment the words left Long Haitian's lips, he felt like digging his grave before Long Feng Jian's gaze burnt him to nothingness.
"What was that?" Long Feng Jian questioned slowly, calmly and intimidatingly.
"I—uhhh." Haitian realized that he had said something he shouldn't have said. He swallowed seeing his brother's gaze.
"It's nothing brother. I over talked." Haitian waved dismissively but his heart was running a race seeing that his brother's expression didn't change.
"Start explaining." Two simple words and Long Haitian felt like his seventeen year old existence had ended. He wished he didn't talk so much but he knew his brother would ring his neck if he didn't start talking.
He swallowed and shifted. He looked at his brother apologetically while feeling like his doom was near.
"Well, Big brother. Ummm, you see. This was ahhh—Brother Ten may or may not have taken me a long to one of his clubs. I didn't do anything OK but he did introduce me to some of his uhh–female friends."
Long Feng Jian's gaze chilled.
"I leave you with him for a day and now you're clubbing and having women around you." Long Feng Jian questioned.
Long Haitian backed up on the chair while shaking his head.
"It's not what you think brother. I'm responsible and would never do that. Believe me."
Haitian felt like bolting out of the car but he'd be long dead before he escaped from his brother's scrutinizing gaze.
Long Feng Jian was about to say something when his phone rung. He paused. He glanced at Haitian once before turning his attention to his phone.
Long Haitian held his chest and he could feel his heart beating like crazy. 'Brother is too scary. Maybe I should rethink this whole staying at his place thing but—he's the one who controls my finances. Urgh, still have to cozy up to him to increase my allowance.'
Long Haitian glanced at his brother with a calculative gaze.
Long Feng Jian answered his phone after seeing it was his assistant.
However, there was a slight shift in his expression as he listened to what his assistant reported.
His gaze turned a shade darker and an aura of sharp unsheathed danger oozed out of him freezing Haitian who had finally relaxed from being under his brother's scrutinizing gaze only to be chilled by his cold twist in mood.
Long Haitian looked at Long Feng Jian wearily.
"Have you looked into it and found the parties behind it?" Long Feng Jian asked calmly but his aura was still sharp.
He kept tapping the armrest on the car door listening.
"So far sir. We've traced it back to one of your secretaries and the CEO of Zhou Group of Companies. Still looking into it but it seems that it was a combined effort with backing from higher government officials."
There was a momentary silence of contemplation and Long Feng Jian only hummed thoughtfully at the end.
"Hmmm"
But that one hum was packed with thick danger signs.
"Send me a detailed file on all the people that took part in this little scheme. Don't leave a single detail out and prepare to respond accordingly."
"Right away sir. I'll get it done and send you a PDF of the file in at most one hour."
The person on the other side of the line responded calmly.
Long Feng Jian tilted his head slightly. "Thirty minutes at most. I want the file in thirty minutes."
There was a second long silence before the other person responded.
"I'll do my best. I'll get on it right away and send you the file in thirty minutes."
"Hmmm." Long Feng Jian hummed in response before ending the phone call. His gaze remained cold and unreadable.
What he was thinking, no one knew but the spark of ruthlessness that flashed across his eyes was enough to chill hearts.
'So someone is finally brave enough to start a head on fight with me.' Long Feng Jian thought to himself. One would think he was interested but truth to be told.
He was more irritated since dealing with such small fries was a waste of time but if he didn't deal with such ants, it would become annoying having to spare each and everyone of them a thought when they decided to act stupid.
So he was gonna use this moment to pass on a very clear warning to everyone that wanted to play brave with him.
Long Haitian swallowed.
'Soo scary. Boy am I glad I'm not brother's enemy.'
....
The weekend flew in a flash but what happened the day after the Sun Auction House left many in the business world shocked.
The invincible Long Comonglerate had faced a set back though they had managed to deal with it very effectively, the damage had actually been done.
Everyone was stunned.
Who would dare to go against the giant known as Long Comonglerate and its even worse hellish CEO and board chairman, Long Feng Jian.
It had hit Sunday like a storm when the ever careful, confidential and seclusive company had some crucial company information leaked.
It wasn't anything scandalous but important information on upcoming major projects the company was going to take part in had been leaked to the public.
This was dangerous since any one of their rivals could use this to sabotage their projects or even steal major ideas.
And indeed some bold companies had dared to try and poke at the tiger but they'd found that Long Feng Jian was a deadly dragon ever on the ready.
He silenced and crashed anyone who dared to bare their teeth at him.
Currently, the only thing in people's minds was who the hell had done this and what would Long Feng Jian do to them.
At Zhou Group building, Han Ziyou sipped on a cup of black coffee as she read the news on her phone.
She was in deep thought as she thought of the situation happening in Long Comonglerate.
'I wonder whose actually crazy enough to go against Long Comonglerate so recklessly and stupidly.' Han Ziyou wondered.
She set her phone down and decided to focus on some work but barely had it been ten minutes into her work mode when she heard a frantic knock on her office door.
Han Ziyou frowned lightly at the impatience but she spoke calmly "Come in."
Barely had the words come out when a frantic Qin Jun walked in. He paused by Han Ziyou's desk and looked at her in a bit of half alarm and half hope.
Han Ziyou was intrigued by his expression so she asked. "Do have anything to say?"
Qin Jun finally got back to his senses and said wearily.
"I just received a call from Chen An, the personal assistant of Long Feng Jian." Qin Jun paused and he could see the surprise in Han Ziyou's face clearly.
Qin Jun sighed heavily and continued "He says that his boss, Long Feng Jian expects you at his office in no more than half an hour."
Qin Jun was so nervous and jittery that he was unsettled. Better than Han Ziyou, he had a lot of insight on Long Feng Jian's character from his older brother who briefed him very well.
Han Ziyou was successful and capable yes and even Zhou Group was prominent to some degree but not enough to catch Long Feng Jian's attention to such a degree that he would impatiently ask to meet up with Han Ziyou.
Scariest of all, his assistant had sent the invitation with the tone of it's not an option and you have to show up.
Han Ziyou raised a brow at the unexpected "invitation". And the words and time frame given were so unreasonable.
Soo bossy, soo condensing and soo unnerving.
Han Ziyou shifted uncomfortably. Something felt off. She knew she was talented but she knew that a man such as Long Feng Jian was definitely not short of talented people so what the hell was up with this meeting.
She didn't know him well and he surely didn't know her well enough to want to meet her. This whole meeting felt too planned, too behind the scenes plotting.
Seriously, first Long Comonglerate meets some trouble and now the the CEO wanted to meet her.
She felt really bad energy from it all. What did this man want from her?
Han Ziyou looked at Qin Jun and now she understood why he had been frantic and impatient to come in and inform her about this.
Anything concerning a man such as Long Feng Jian was never to be handled recklessly.
Han Ziyou knew that well. She wasn't at the level where she could anger and ignore the enigma known as Long Feng Jian.
"Is it a must?" Han Ziyou asked gravely. Her heart was worried but she forced herself to be calm.
Qin Jun nodded unsurely but then he added "I'm guessing here but judging from the words his assistant passed on. It is clear that it isn't an option and this may not necessarily be a friendly meeting though I can't say for sure."
Han Ziyou bit her lip hard.
Qin Jun had also noticed the abnormality in the whole scenario and unlike with her dad where she could move with guards to threaten him, she wouldn't dare show unnecessary violence towards Long Feng Jian if she didn't have to.
Han Ziyou sat tense and conflicted in thought but after endless thoughts of how to avoid this meeting, she came to no solution.
She finally sighed helplessly and stood up.
She looked at Qin Jun and spoke.
"Let's head over. You'll join me. I don't know why someone such as Long Feng Jian would want to meet me but I can't ignore him easily especially when I don't know what he even called me for."
Han Ziyou came to a conclusion though it was one she felt like she would soon dread.
Qin Jun nodded.
Han Ziyou stood up and picked her phone. It was the only thing she was going to carry.
Han Ziyou took a deep breathe and left the office. After leaving everything in the general manager's hands, she left with Qin Jun.
Qin Jun drove, their destination being the headquarters of Long Comonglerate.
—Long Comonglerate—
Located at the heart of Beijing's bustling business center, Long Comonglerate's building headquarters consisted of three conjoined towers.
It was a magnificent and imposing architectural wonder.
The center skyscraper was the highest with enough floors that all of Beijing could be viewed from the top most floor.
The other two side skyscrapers were shorter but their imposing height could still overshadow some buildings of major companies.
The two side skyscrapers joined to the center one making anyone who looked at it stare in awe.
However, that was but one of the most magnificent features at the Long Comonglerate headquarters.
The other eye catcher was the prominent water feature at the front of the center building.
About twenty meters from the entrance doors of the building was a lifelike statue of a Chinese dragon. All black in color with eyes of gold. It was a very lifelike, intimidating and imposing statue, big too.
It sat at the center of the circular fountain and water sprouts on the walls of the fountain spouted water towards the center onto the statue giving it a glossy and shiny look.
It surely must have cost a very good some to put up such a fountain but alas that was Long Comonglerate, it never failed to leave a big impression on everyone.
Plus, anyone who knew the Long family well would understand that their family crest since before had that dragon. Symbolising their family name, Long, the great dragon.
Even their company subsidiaries had a statue of this similar dragon.
All in all, the place spoke volumes in terms of Long Comonglerate's magnificence and power.
Also the security was tight.
Getting past the gates was one thing but being able to meet even one of the workers would require a prior appointment since every employee was busy as hell.
That was courtesy of their workaholic employer Long Feng Jian. Slacking off on the job was akin to saying you were tired of it so everyone was serious during working hours.
Any drama and gossip they wanted to share could wait for the break hours or after work.
Han Ziyou and Qin Jun didn't face much of a problem at the front gates after passing the security check but disaster was bound to happen when you met an overly proud receptionist.
