Han Ziyou couldn't help it as her gaze perused the Long Comonglerate building appreciatively.
They had truly put in effort.
The reception was even very stunning and organized with a maintained color tone of whites, blacks and greys.
The reception desk sat where all could see and at certain points, comfortable waiting chairs were organized for those waiting to meet someone.
Classy and elegant without being impractical.
Han Ziyou and Qin Jun walked towards the reception and Han Ziyou sighed ever so slightly at the peaceful environment.
Unlike in other places where her feats shook the business world, here at Long Comonglerate, her achievements were nothing much.
No one even spared her a glance. Of course there was the occasional look but that was it. Anyone who would dare to step in Long Comonglerate was sure to be a genius to some degree so these geniuses didn't spare her much thought.
Everyone was busy.
Han Ziyou wished people would pay her less attention like this everywhere she went—atleast when it most mattered to her.
The two finally stopped before the reception desk which was quite long with about four receptionists sitted behind the desk spaced from each other.
It was understandable since very many people visited Long Comonglerate and having just one person handle the people would be inefficient.
Han Ziyou stopped before the last receiptionist from the roght. She was a beautiful lady in her late twenties.
She smiled at those of Han Ziyou warmly.
"Good morning. How may I be of help to you?" She kept her tone calm and professional without being overly detached.
Han Ziyou smiled at the lady admiring her professionalism. Very rarely did she find receiptionists from such big companies who new how to keep things smooth and professional.
"Good morning. I'm Han Ziyou, the CEO of Zhou Group of Companies. I have an appointment with the CEO, Mr Long."
Han Ziyou stated calmly but despite her keeping her voice mild, her words still caught ears.
In an instant, a good number of eyes darted in her direction looking at her in surprise.
What caught everyone's attention was 'appointment with the CEO, Mr Long'.
Doubt and almost audible snickers filled the room. Everyone started gossipping abruptly.
They kept talking in whispers while pointing at Han Ziyou.
It was understandable that everyone was doubting the eligibility of her appointment.
Long Feng Jian was like a phantom. Never seen or met easily. If meeting the most basic employee in the company was hard, you could not start to imagine how hard it was to meet Long Feng Jian.
He had such a tight schedule that one would have to make prior appointments months before of which your application for an appointment with him could even be rejected.
So not many had met him in real life. Not even some of the employees of the company.
However, the receptionist Han Ziyou had approached remained calm unlike everyone else.
She knew how to remain professional in such times. She had dealt with enough people who claimed to have meetings with the CEO when actually they didn't.
Those people usually learnt that you don't come to Long Comonglerate to play.
They were either kicked out if they tried to be stubborn or even blacklisted from anything to do with Long Comonglerate.
"Let me check the system." The receptionist said but just as she was going to check, a clear sneer from the lady's right drew both her and Han Ziyou's attention.
It was another receptionist.
She glanced at Han Ziyou measuring her up before scoffing. She glanced at the receptionist who was handling Han Ziyou and spoke mockingly.
"Why are you wasting time checking anything? She's probably just another one of those useless people that come here to waste our time. Just send her out."
"There are actual people with appointments today and not just some made up stunt to meet our boss."
The receptionist handling Han Ziyou frowned lightly while looking at her coworker disapprovingly. She was being very unprofessional. It was not in their place to theorise whether a person had an appointment or not.
Their job was to check the system and there after follow necessary and set protocols.
Han Ziyou also frowned ever so lightly before returning to her cold, aloof self. She didn't pay the blabbering receiptionist another glance and instead focused on the receptionist before her who was still checking the system.
She first glanced at Han Ziyou apologetically. "Pardon my colleagues unprofessional character Mrs Han. I'll continue checking for the appointment."
Han Ziyou nodded appreciating the fact that at least this receptionist was level headed.
However, it seems her colleague was persistent.
"What a joke! You're not going to find any appointment. Your just wasting the time of the people waiting behind her."
"You've worked here so long and you still can't tell the difference between an actual client and a fraud." The lady sneered.
The people around glanced at Han Ziyou and though they didn't say anything, they somehow agreed with the receptionist.
Han Ziyou probably didn't have any appointment with Long Feng Jian. It was no secret that usually when people had appointments with Long Feng Jian, they would be received by any of his personal secretaries and the very important ones would be received by his own personal assistant.
If she had an appointment, why wasn't she received by any of the people.
The murmurs increased.
"Come on lady, if you don't have an appointment. Get out of the way." A plump man in a suit complained. He looked money.
At his words, everyone also expressed disatisfaction.
Han Ziyou turned her head around and glanced coldly at the people behind her. They all felt a shiver at her gaze. It was calm but a deadly threat lay silent in that calmness.
A few people finally noticed that it was Han Ziyou. The demon lady of the business industry.
People instinctively backed off as they felt an innate fear for their companies.
"Isn't she familiar."
"Oh my, yes! She is that Han Ziyou girl who took over Zhou Group of Companies."
"You mean the company thief girl."
"Yes."
The murmurs became more prominent.
Han Ziyou however didn't say a single word to them.
The receptionist who had been working on Han Ziyou finally glanced back at her but she looked apologetic as she said.
"Sorry Miss Han. I've checked but there is no appointment between you and Mr Long stated in the system. I'll—"
But barely had the words left the assistant's mouth when her colleague sneered and then laughed mockingly.
"I told you there was no appointment. What a waste."
Everyone looked at Han Ziyou disapprovingly.
Han Ziyou raised a questioning brow.
What was up with this Long Feng Jian. He called her to hurry over to his office only for him not to even put her in his schedule.
What did he expect her to do? Just waltz up into his office like they were best buds.
"Come on get out my way." The chubby man from before commanded as he stepped in front of Han Ziyou.
Han Ziyou looked at him coldly before she shook her head.
"You better move out of the way so that our actual clients can do business. Time is money here you know."
The proud and arrogant receptionist just didn't know when to give up.
Han Ziyou stared at her before a mirthless smile graced her lips.
"Sure. I'll get going but please do remember that if Mr Long asks me why I didn't show up, I'll use you as collateral."
With that Han Ziyou turned around to leave not even paying attention to the low sneer from the receptionist.
This was good anyway. She had a bad feeling about this whole meeting with Long Feng Jian anyway.
At least now she would have an excuse for not coming.
All eyes were on the departing Han Ziyou but barely had she taken five steps away with Qin Jun when a voice called out to her.
It wasn't too loud but it was clear, calm and sure.
"Miss Han. You've kept time. Mr Long asked me to come escort you to his office."
All eyes instantly darted to the source of the voice and everyone's faces morphed in shock.
Chen An!!!
Long Feng Jian's personal assistant.
A young and handsome man with a mature demeanor seemingly in his late twenties.
Tall with a physic of a person who knew how to keep himself looking good even with the tedious amounts of office work.
Striking hair, a shade of brown nearing red and calm and reliable ice blue eyes. Rectangular framed spects that were black with signatures of gold sat on his nose bridge.
There was an aura about him that gave off sophistication, collectedness, maturity and dependableness.
He approached Han Ziyou and for a short barely noticeable moment, his gaze flashed with surprise at the sight of Qin Jun. Obviously he recognized him.
He gave Qin Jun a slight nod and Qin Jun returned it.
"This way please Miss Han." Chen An spoke calmly, not rushing things.
Han Ziyou however didn't move immediately, she glanced at everyone and it was obvious they were shocked from the sudden turn of events.
Obviously none of them had thought she actually had an appointment with Long Feng Jian.
Han Ziyou's gaze first landed on the chubby man from before who looked a shade paler than before.
He was panicking thinking he had insulted an important person to Long Feng Jian.
Sure he had an appointment but there was no way he could ever have the privilege of meeting the real big shots of Long Comonglerate.
Meeting Long Feng Jian was an impossible dream.
That made the man panick even more. What if Han Ziyou decided to express her grievance to Long Feng Jian and he decided to cut off ties with his business.
He would be doomed because being cut off by Long Comonglerate was as good as being blacklisted in the business world.
However, the man was overthinking it. If only he knew that Han Ziyou was more nervous and honestly hoped to dodge whatever this meeting was, he wouldn't be nearly as scared as he was.
Han Ziyou never even paid attention to him.
Han Ziyou glanced rather at the troublesome receptionist whose previous arrogance had disappeared as fast as her previous confidence and smile.
She was shaking not believing her eyes but indeed Chen An had come to escort Han Ziyou. Regret and fear started to blossom in her heart.
Han Ziyou's gaze flashed with a ruthless glint. She wasn't letting this ant go without teaching her a lesson.
If she didn't, people would think she was a pushover.
"I would love to come with Mr Chen but I was asked to leave by your receptionist. I know I can't compare to the great Long Comonglerate but at least hire capable staff."
"Mr Long called me over in a hurry so I came in a hurry but inform him to come to me personally the next time he wants me because I can't waste my breathe on an incapable receptionist."
Han Ziyou's words stunned everyone. Sure they knew she was bold but not this bold. Who would ever dare to ask Long Feng Jian to come to them so bluntly.
Chen An looked at Han Ziyou in surprise and then interest. The reports seemed to be true.
Han Ziyou was fierce alright. Chen An would eat grovel the day someone ordered Long Feng Jian around and he actually obediently did as asked.
However, he also noticed a problem. He glanced at the receptionist Han Ziyou was looking at with a calm gaze.
Then Han Ziyou glanced at him with this look that said. Either you deal with the receptionist or I leave.
Qin Jun looked at Han Ziyou in admiration.
'Totally fierce boss. Even domineering in Long Comonglerate.'
Qin Jun (- _ -*)
Chen An knew better that regardless of what his boss had planned for Han Ziyou, keeping an incompetent receptionist was not even an option.
Chan An's gaze didn't betray much but he gave out one statement.
"I'll expect to find your resume at the HR office. Pack your things and move out by end of the day. You no longer have anything to do with Long Comonglerate."
"As for everyone else, get back to work. If the boss finds out your slacking or misbehaving, I'm sure you know better the end result."
Chen An was decisive and cold.
The receptionist who had just been fired looked terribly pale. She didn't even move for a while.
All the other receptionists didn't even dare look at her lest they got implicated somehow. They focused on their work as if a colleague had not just been fired but she had it coming to her with her uncontrollable tongue.
Once again, order returned though many people had grown increasingly weary of Han Ziyou. They had no idea what she was going to discuss with Long Feng Jian but still, everyone decided to increase the space between themselves and her.
The more cunning, decided that if Han Ziyou had some good connections with Long Feng Jian, they would surely cozy up to her.
Back to Han Ziyou, she knew that now she had no excuse. She had to follow Chen An to meet Long Feng Jian.
Han Ziyou felt unnerved but she decided that come push, she would still remain standing. No one was going to intimidate her, not even Long Feng Jian—right???
She found comfort in knowing that she hadn't done anything to anger the man.
