The night was young and starry with nothing extraordinary out of place.
Beijing city was once again just being any other exotic nightlife city.
However, our focus tonight isn't on how lovely the city was.
In the luxurious presidential ward of Beijing International Hospital, a youthful lady was calmly seated upright on the king-sized bed.
Her slim but amply curvy and plump body was sporting comfortable pink pajamas that had pictures of squeaky rubber ducks all over.
It was a cute sight except it seemed a bit ridiculous with the serious expression she had on.
However, her expression couldn't mask the fact that she was an outstandingly beautiful lady. She had a soft gentle appearance at first sight but her sharp pale green eyes were a heart stopper.
Her luscious dark coffee brown hair flowed graciously to her waist and she flicked a stray strand to the side using her finger as she listened attentively to the young man reporting to her.
"And that's it. After the investigation, we've found that it was the fourth son of Elder Zhou who directed your accident this time. His name is Zhou San."
The young man with ink black hair and dark brown eyes framed by classy specs elaborated calmly but he was anything but calm on the inside.
He was angry on behalf of his awesome female boss.
'These idiots must have a death wish.' the man thought to himself in righteous indignation.
Abruptly though, the lady on the bed smiled. Her smile was cold and indifferent while still holding a breathtaking charm that would stun any man.
"Zhou San. Isn't he the one in charge of the company's major branch in the United States?"
The lady asked in a gentle but amused tone. Her voice just as beautiful as her with a lightly obvious American-British accent instead of the full Chinese accent.
The man who went by the name Qin Jun who served as the lady's P.A and secretary nodded.
"He is Mrs Han." Qin Jun replied.
"Hmmm." The lady hummed in deep thought.
"This ridiculous family is getting even more ridiculous by the day. So they couldn't hurt me while in the country so they tried from all the way on the other side of the globe. Tsk–what idiots."
The lady spoke with ridicule but she was obviously angered by it.
"Tell me Jun, how is Uncle Gu? The accident yesterday must have been worse for him considering he was at the driver's seat."
The lady's voice was laced with worry as she thought of her driver. She looked at Qin Jun whose face softened.
'This boss of theirs was an angel despite how the business world perceived her as the she devil of modern economic times. She was a saint that cared for her people.'
"He's doing better. You know how Gu Shin is. He's a tank despite his age. A little impact won't shatter his bones."
Qin Jun said lightly hoping to soothe his boss' nerves.
The lady nodded but then a ruthless light flashed in her eyes that had Qin Jun 's back stiffening and straightening up.
"I'll make them regret from even across the globe" the lady muttered as she glanced at Qin Jun through her dark lashes.
Qin Jun could only suck in a cold breathe discreetly both from fear and awe of his stunning boss lady.
Qin Jun could only internally sigh in loss. 'Ahh boss lady. If you didn't have a no men rule, I'd kneel right now and propose to you–how unlucky I am.'
"Jun are you listening?"
The lady questioned and Qin Jun quickly returned to his senses.
"Yes Mrs Han."
The lady who Qin Jun addressed as Mrs Han but whose full names were Han Ziyou gave a light nod and became serious.
"Since Elder Zhou gave me the position of acting chairman of his company and gave me the get go to discipline his family without restraint, then whom am I not to oblige."
Han Ziyou chuckled as she said.
Qin Jun felt excited at the prospect of teaching someone a harsh lesson.
Those idiots would soon realize that his boss lady was not your typical push over boss lady.
She wasn't a helpless female lead anymore. No, she was a dangerous female lead and she would return ten flod the retribution to her enemies attacks.
Qin Jun adjusted his specs with a sharp gaze.
"So, what's the plan boss?"
Han Ziyou smiled.
"Since our dear Zhou San assumes that distance and a little bit of power can keep him safe from me. Let's snatch both from him."
"Suspend him from his duties as the branch head in the States and make a few calls to my friend in the immigration office in the States and have him deported back home."
"When he arrives, welcome him warmly and return to him his intention to me but—make sure he doesn't die OK Jun."
Han Ziyou kept a straight face as she explained her intent to Qin Jun who had already grasped his boss' intentions.
He nodded.
"I'll get on it right away boss."
Han Ziyou relaxed once she knew Qin Jun would handle everything.
Then a sudden thought flashed in her thoughts and she asked gently with a little worry.
"How are the twins Jun? I hope you can keep my accident a secret from Bei Huan or she'll abandon her work and come back here."
"They're doing good boss. Uncle Mo said that they've behaved despite your two day absence and you don't have to worry. If you don't need me to inform Miss Bei about the accident I won't but I need you make me a promise too boss–"
Qin Jun said with a serious expression.
"And what's the promise my dear bold Jun?" Han Ziyou smoothly questioned and Qin Jun instinctively felt the need to run.
Intimidating boss indeed.
"I want you to stay in the hospital until your fully recovered boss. I know you plan on leaving tomorrow now that you see your awake but that doesn't mean you're fully recovered."
"You need to rest or I don't think I'll stay quiet to Miss Bei boss."
Qin Jun spoke seriously and Han Ziyou giggled at his half serious and half cautious expression.
She leaned back on the pillow.
"Am resting, don't worry."
Qin Jun frowned knowing he was speaking to a lost cause. She wouldn't listen to him.
Qin Jun flung his hands in the air.
"I give up. I know you won't listen to your helpless assistant."
Han Ziyou laughed at his words but he was right. Her workaholic mode wouldn't rest easily.
"Goodnight Jun my sweet caring assistant." Han Ziyou hummed to satiate her dejected assistant's mood.
However, Qin Jun felt even more wronged. 'Ohh come on boss. Don't give my single heart such wrong and misleading clues. Sweet assistant and nothing more–am truly unlucky.'
"Goodnight boss." Qin Jun waved as he left the hospital room.
Han Ziyou shook her head feeling amused by her assistant. If her heart wasn't so guarded, she would consider flattering and entertaining his cute interest. He was a good man. Funny too.
Han Ziyou gazed at the ceiling of the presidential ward but her thoughts were far from the classiness of the room.
'I'm tired of dealing with this crazy family but–this is the only way I can increase my scope of search.' Han Ziyou thought to herself.
'As long as I remain alive. I have to remain alive and find them.'
There was a flash of discreet sorrow in Han Ziyou's eyes at the last thought but it quickly faded.
She took a calming breathe.
'Tomorrow–Yes, she'd continue looking the next day and the next and the next until she found them.'
It wasn't long when finally sleep cast it's charm on Han Ziyou and she finally got the much needed rest.
.....
The sun was just rising and it's warm rays just barely splashed themselves all over the place.
A dense fog enshrouded the whole residence and the tall bamboo trees acted as a mask for the simple old fashioned wooden cabin that was definitely bigger than average.
It was a mixture of ancient and modern architectural aesthetics.
The whole place kept a serene quiet calmness with only the occasional sound of birds chirping, insects and water flowing from one interconnected pond to another.
It was truly a place one came to relax.
Currently, an elderly man likely in his late seventies was dressed in simple attire and also wore gardening attire on top.
He was solely focused on watering the near mature Da Hong Pao plants in his small garden.
The plants looked healthy and only an ignorant person would be unaware of the true worth of those seemingly normal leaves.
The elderly man wore a contented smile seeing his plants grow. He whipped the little sweat off his forehead accidentally brushing some dirt on his face but he didn't seem to care.
"This is how retirement life should be spent don't you think Old Hao. Ahh-I don't have to think about worthless children and conniving plotting family members who can't wait for me to enter my death bed."
The elderly man tending to the plants said with a booming laughter that disturbed the quiet of the garden.
The equally elderly man standing beside him in attire akin to a butler's uniform nodded lightly.
"Indeed Old friend. Only you can consider leaving your family to their own horses as a form of retirement."
The butler by the name Old Hao was surprisingly blunt and unafraid but the old friend he spoke to didn't seem to care.
Infact he laughed more.
"Indeed Old Hao. Only a man such as me, the great Zhou Ren can do that."
"Tsk–if those good for nothings can't even survive on their own, how do they expect me to trust them with everything I have. Tsk-what a joke. They can't even handle an outsider so let them struggle on their own."
"I've already done enough." Zhou Ren spoke as he set the watering can down and stood still taking in the lovey tea plants.
He'd enjoy these ones for a good while.
"But tell me, how is the girl? The one that still thinks I'm out to trick her. Han Ziyou–a good child." Zhou Ren asked as he turned to look at Old Hao.
"As a matter of fact sir, there is some news." Old Hao spoke getting serious.
Zhou Ren noticed Old Hao's serious expression.
"Well, the fourth master, Zhou San. He ordered for his people to attack Miss Han and she got in an accident two days back but she awoke yesterday."
Old Hao explained carefully.
Zhou Ren's eyes darkened just lightly before returning to normal. He nodded and after a moment of thought, he said.
"I won't interfere with anything just like always but I do feel a bit of pity for that idiot of a son of mine. I don't know what that little Ziyou will do to him. Hahaha..."
Zhou Ren laughed in amusement as if it was not just his son he was talking about.
He shook his head.
"I already warned all of them that regardless of whatever nonsense they do, I will never be held accountable for them or have to clean up after them."
"If they don't learn to bear the consequences of their actions on their own, sooner than later I will have thousands of enemies waiting at my door step expecting me to answer for any foolish child I own."
"I'd rather not stress like that."
Zhou Ren explained.
"If Zhou San calls seeking my help, tell him to bare the consequences of his actions on his own."
Zhou Ren coldly stated.
Old Hao nodded and just as he was about to say something, the landline started to ring.
"Please do excuse me sir." Old Hao said with a slight bow before heading to answer the call after Zhou Ren's go ahead.
Zhou Ren focused on pulling out some weeds in his vegetable garden next.
Old Hao picked up the phone and answered the call.
Sure enough, speak of the devil and he appears.
