Synopsis
When an ordinary fan of Mob Psycho 100 and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. meets an untimely end, he finds himself face-to-face with a benevolent god. Rewarded for his good karma, the fan is granted three wishes to shape his next life. For his first wish, he chooses to become the fusion of Mob Kageyama and Saiki Kusuo, combining unparalleled psychic power with a calm, yet deadpan personality. His second wish is to have the body of Toji Fushiguro, granting him immense physical prowess and a warrior’s instincts. For his third and final wish, he requests to be reborn in a crossover world of Marvel and DC Comics as a Japanese transfer student. Reborn as Kaito Takahashi, he finds himself navigating the halls of Midtown High School and Happy Harbor High School, where he quickly becomes an enigmatic figure. Kaito's first day at school coincides with the moment Peter Parker gets bitten by the radioactive spider, setting off a chain reaction of events that intertwine his life with the heroes and villains of both universes. Armed with psychic abilities, incredible physical strength, and a sharp intellect, Kaito must balance the challenges of teenage life, forge unlikely friendships, and deal with the rising tide of super powered threats in a world teetering on the edge of chaos. As Peter Parker begins his journey as Spider-Man, Kaito struggles with his destiny and the burden of wielding power from both his psychic lineage and Toji's body. With a mix of humour, action, and heartfelt moments, Psychic Vanguard explores themes of identity, responsibility, and the pursuit of balance in a world where heroes and villains clash on a cosmic scale.

Chapter 1 - Chapter One: A Deal with the Divine

Kaito had always considered himself an average guy. Sure, he spent hours pouring over episodes of Mob Psycho 100 and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., debating which psychic protagonist he preferred. And yes, he had an unhealthy obsession with anime and manga, but didn't everyone? What made him any different? That question haunted him, especially now.

Now, as he floated in a shimmering void, staring into the radiant eyes of a god.

"So, let me get this straight," Kaito said, folding his arms, trying to keep his voice steady. "I died? Just like that?"

The god smiled warmly. "You've earned a unique opportunity, Kaito. Your life, while seemingly ordinary, was filled with kindness and integrity. That's why I'm offering you three wishes before you reincarnate."

Kaito blinked. "Three wishes? Like, anything I want?"

"Within reason," the god replied, their voice resonating with an ethereal hum. "But be wise in your choices. Your wishes will shape your next life."

Kaito rubbed his chin thoughtfully. His heart raced. This was like one of those isekai setups he'd read about a million times. If this was his shot, he wasn't going to waste it.

"Okay," he said, his voice brimming with determination. "For my first wish, I want to be a fusion of Mob Kageyama and Saiki Kusuo. Their psychic powers are off the charts, and having both… Well, that's a no-brainer."

The god chuckled. "An interesting choice. Granted."

Kaito felt a sudden warmth envelop him. In an instant, he sensed a shift—a wellspring of psychic energy surged within him, limitless yet controlled.

"My second wish," Kaito continued, grinning now, "is to have the body of Toji Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen. You know, peak human condition, a total beast in combat."

The god's smile widened. "Ah, a physical complement to your psychic abilities. Very well. Granted."

The warmth intensified, and Kaito could feel his body transforming, muscles rippling with strength. He flexed instinctively, marvelling at his newfound physical prowess.

"And for my final wish," Kaito said, excitement bubbling over, "I want to be reborn in a world that's a crossover between Marvel and DC Comics. And let's make it interesting—I'll be a Japanese transfer student attending Midtown High School and Happy Harbor High School. Oh, and I want my first day to coincide with Peter Parker getting bitten by the spider."

The god clapped their hands together. "How delightfully specific! Granted."

Before Kaito could say another word, the void dissolved into light, and his consciousness faded.

Kaito woke with a start, his head buzzing with residual energy. He was lying in a bed, sunlight streaming through the window of a modest room. Posters of various Marvel and DC heroes adorned the walls, and a school uniform hung neatly on the closet door.

He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. His reflection confirmed it: he was no longer the ordinary fan he once was. His hair resembled Mob's simple, bowl-cut style, yet faint pink streaks ran through it, reminiscent of Saiki's iconic color. His eyes glimmered with an otherworldly intensity, and his physique… well, Toji Fushiguro's reputation didn't do it justice.

"Okay," Kaito muttered, clenching his fists. "This is real."

His mind buzzed with psychic energy, and he instinctively focused on a nearby book. It floated off the shelf effortlessly. A small smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth. This was going to be fun.

Later that morning, Kaito found himself standing in front of Midtown High School, a modest building bustling with students. His schedule included alternating days at Happy Harbor High School, but today he'd start here.

He adjusted his tie and stepped inside. The chatter of students filled the air, but something felt… off. Kaito's psychic senses flared. As he walked toward his classroom, he spotted a skinny kid with glasses and a nervous demeanor fumbling with a camera. The boy's name tag read: Peter Parker.

Kaito's eyes widened as he watched Peter follow a group of students into a lab marked "EXPERIMENTAL SCIENCE EXHIBIT." A faint, tingling sensation rippled through the air, and Kaito's smirk returned.

"Looks like destiny's already in motion," he muttered. He didn't know what adventures lay ahead, but one thing was certain—this world was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
