A City in Ruins
Kaito stepped out of the portal into chaos. His once-peaceful city was in ruins, the skyline marred by smoke and flames. Buildings lay in crumbled heaps, cars were overturned and ablaze, and the streets were filled with the sounds of battle—explosions, screams, and the relentless blaring of alarms.
Above the city, massive alien warships hovered ominously, unleashing swarms of Chitauri soldiers through shimmering portals.
"What the hell happened here?" Kaito muttered, his eyes scanning the destruction.
In the distance, he spotted heroes locked in desperate combat. The newly formed Avengers fought valiantly, with Captain America leading the charge alongside Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow. Nearby, the Justice League held their own, Superman's heat vision tearing through Chitauri ships while Wonder Woman and Batman coordinated ground efforts.
Among them, Kaito spotted Spider-Man swinging through the chaos with Spider-Gwen by his side, their movements graceful and precise. The Defenders—Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist—protected civilians, their efforts heroic yet dwarfed by the overwhelming alien invasion.
Kaito dropped his bag and sighed. "Guess my quiet day at home will have to wait."
Summoning the Storm
He closed his eyes, his psychic energy surging as he tapped into his arsenal of abilities. The air around him crackled with power as he activated Vortex Creation. A colossal whirlwind began to form, spinning violently in the middle of the battlefield.
Next, he layered Electric Manipulation into the vortex, arcs of lightning flashing through the storm. The ground beneath him trembled as he used Gravity Negation, nullifying the gravitational pull around the vortex.
The result was a towering, electrified storm of wind and energy, a deadly vortex that defied the laws of physics.
Kaito floated into the air, his psychic aura glowing as he unleashed a more powerful form of Telekinesis. His energy surged outward, wrapping around every Chitauri soldier within range. Thousands of them—ground troops, hovercraft pilots, and even a few Leviathans—were yanked from their positions, helpless against his overwhelming power.
"Time to clean up," Kaito said with a smirk.
With a flick of his hand, he sent the entire swarm hurtling into the vortex. The aliens screamed as they were drawn into the spinning maelstrom, torn apart by the combined forces of wind, electricity, and nullified gravity.
Turning the Tide
The heroes on the battlefield paused, their attention drawn to the swirling storm that consumed their enemies.
Spider-Man landed next to Gwen, both of them staring in awe. "Uh, did we just get some major backup?"
Gwen pointed. "Look! It's that guy… the psychic one."
Iron Man, flying overhead, scanned the vortex with his suit's sensors. "Whoever this guy is, remind me to buy him a drink."
On the ground, Captain America shielded his eyes from the glowing storm. "Who's responsible for that?"
Batman, standing nearby, narrowed his eyes. "I don't know. But they're on our side—for now."
As the last Chitauri disappeared into the vortex, Kaito landed gracefully on the ground. The storm dissipated behind him, leaving only a crackling silence in its wake.
Thor approached, his hammer still in hand. "Well met, stranger! Your power is most impressive."
Kaito shrugged, brushing dust off his jacket. "Just doing my part. You guys looked like you could use a hand."
Superman floated down, his cape billowing in the wind. "Who are you?"
"Kaito," he said simply. "And you?"
"Superman."
Kaito raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Figures."
A Moment's Rest
The battle wasn't over, but the tide had turned. With the Chitauri forces significantly reduced, the heroes regrouped to plan their next move.
Spider-Man swung over to Kaito, landing with a dramatic flip. "Hey, thanks for the assist! That was some next-level stuff back there."
"Don't mention it," Kaito replied.
Gwen landed beside them, tilting her head curiously. "Where've you been hiding? Someone with powers like yours would've made headlines by now."
Kaito smirked but didn't answer, his eyes scanning the battlefield for any lingering threats.
As the heroes prepared for the next wave of the invasion, Kaito stood apart, his mind racing. This wasn't the homecoming he'd expected, but he couldn't deny the thrill of being back in action.
"This is just the beginning," he muttered to himself, clenching his fists. "Let's see what you've got, universe."
