[Advanced Year 2097]
"Alright guys get home safe."Â
"Ay Airon you sure, you dont wanna kick it at my place for the night, it's close and I don't mind the company. Especially after how much we drank tonight." Alexander, well Al for short, was kind enough to offer me his place for the night but.
"I appreciate it but I'm good like I said earlier just worry about Tyreke.." I won't be able to fall asleep unless I'm in my own crib.
"Alright man, be safe." Al helped Tyreke walk straight as they head back to his place while I head back to my own.
Plus I like these kinda walks when the night is out and their barely anyone walking in the street, It is much quieter and more than one might assume well maybe only I see it that way, as I can put up a decent fight if someone were to randomly try to assault me or something like but that as never really happened, of course I occasionally run into your average lunatic here and there, though they more just like a bunch npcs. For what it's worth, I enjoy it.
And these blocks which seem to go on forever, are crossed in an instant, under the night sky where the lamp posts are lighting the way, verges with various trees along the way to form the path, and multiple that are either shops or the ones that are opened for 24 hours that give off a vibrant warmth. I enjoy it all as a breath of fresh air.
I also like to think that I can fight for myself when I need to, I don't work out often but I have a fairly good build, I've been in fights before and won half of them.Â
And in the midst of being lost in my thoughts I made it to the train station, finally.
"I should've stopped at the store to get something to drink but I wasn't even paying attention. This is gonna be such a long train ride…."Â
As I walk down the stairs I'm greeted by a putrid scent that can easily go unnoticed if you come here often, obviously I haven't but I'm too drunk to pay attention. Just my cotton mouth to think of… I do feel a bit queasy, weirdly enough.Â
After I went through the turnstiles, I headed down to wait for the train. "15 minutes?! I gotta be too drunk to see, why do I have to wait so long-" In the middle of my cries, a kid suddenly tugged on my shirt.
He had a younger sister too. These children looked to be at least 4 or 5 years old. What the hell are they doing here by themselves, they're both wearing weird hoods too. "Where's your parents? Are you lost?"
Should I take them to the nearest police station? I feel they would be safe there, maybe their parents may even go pick them up… What if their orphans and don't have anywhere else to go?
"We are lost but we don't know how to get home, can you please help us." This child actually sounds mature.
"Umm, you know going to the police is much easier and safe as well." Why would they just randomly ask me, I'm a complete stranger. Is this some kind of trap or scam?
"Well you seem like a trustworthy person, you wouldn't let us walk alone at this time of night would you?" He seems too smart for his age but he's right I couldn't let them go alone.
"Well… If you know where to go then I'll help get you there." My drunk ass couldn't ignore them, and my sober self wouldn;t be able to live with myself if something were to happen to them.
"You hear that Rebecca, he's gonna help us get home!' He was definitely excited and happy, they even ended up showing his face, and no doubt it. They look just like kids, blonde hair and green, both of the children shared that feature.Â
His little sister wasn't as extroverted as him, she seemed more shy than him but she was clearly relieved with my words. Still for some reason.
"So do you know where your house is, I can probably search it up on my phone and I could get you there." I'm getting a weird vibe from them.
"Well we have to go to Saint Charles street." The kid randomly snapped his fingers.
"Oh crap… My phone is dead." I felt defeated and embarrassed in front of these kids, I don't know how to get to random spots without this hunk of junk.Â
"We only need to take this train, my father takes this one all the time whenever we have to come back home." The train suddenly arrived, despite it saying 15 minutes, maybe I am a little too drunk.
"Then let's get on this one, do you know which stop do we have to get off?" I walked onto the train with them but only after the doors closed did I realize that I've heard of a train with these lettering, "F1Am3z" They were glowing blue light as well.Â
"We have to stop at the Wizard's Place." His little sister looked at him as if she was worried about what he said.Â
"There's a place called the wizard? I've never heard of that place before. Are you sure it isn't called anything else like West Point or something like that?" He must be pronouncing it wrong.
"No, I mean the Grand Wizard wishes to see you-"Â
Just as those words left his mouth, my body felt lighter than a few seconds ago and the train's walls fell outwards as if it was being pulled apart like a cardboard carton.Â
I wasn't even in the train station, I'm probably nowhere near earth. "This looks like space. Where are those kid-" It felt as if I was being pulled away by some strong force of gravity, moving so fast everything became a blur, not even being able to move my limbs.Â
Then it was as if I was stopped by an invisible cushion? I couldn't tell, I don't even know how I'm breathing in space.
Then it was as if I was being turned around by gravity itself but where is it even coming from?Â
"I am the source of gravity you're thinking of." There was a man with a light blue coat and eight golden rings floating around his body, he had a large pointy hat resembling a wizard's attire and a thick book in his hand. Yellow eyes and long gray hair that matched his gray beard that reached down to his stomach.Â
"Is this a wizard? I probably drank too much, wasn't I just on the train."Â
"You are not drunk, I cleared your body of all toxins on your way here."Â
He must be lying, this must be some dream.Â
"I tell the truth, this is no dream. I mustn't waste too much time-"Â
"Prove to me this is real and I'll listen to every detail you have. I may not be drunk but I can still be dreaming, probably knocked out on the train." Hopefully I wake up soon, I don't know what could happen-
"The children are right here." The two kids that I was helping earlier flew out from behind the wizard's back. "If this isn't enough, then wait till you return to your home, you will see the truth then."Â
"… Fine, I'll listen to what you say but remember I'm on a timed schedule." He's reading my mind!
"Good." He took a slight moment to adjust himself. " I am the Grand Wizard, last of all wizards in the planet Aszvulth. I, the wizard of all magic and power, have chosen you to be one of the participants in a tournament to be my successor. You will be given a magical element I personally chose based on my perception of you, do you accept this invitation?"Â
What? A tournament to become his successor, is this real. "What's in it for me?"
"You will gain ultimate power, to do whatever you could ever imagine… I suppose I could also add another reward. I can grant you any one wish you may have."Â
"Any wish?" What could I-Â
Then just as I thought of those words, I remembered my younger brother.Â
"Then that means, you can help my younger brother's body, can't you?!
"I can do whatever you wish, if that is your wish then you must only win the tournament." I know what I need to do. This must be a blessing.Â
"So do you accept?"Â
"Yes I do!"Â
"I shall give you an emblem and in three days, it will start. Be prepared." The Wizard snapped his fingers, before I lost consciousness.Â
