[Chapter: 103 Second Mutation of Nemesis]
Alice was grasped by William, her neck caught firmly by his left hand, rendering her unable to move.
"Ahh," the Nemesis let out an angry roar, turning toward William, clearly wanting to attack but hesitating, afraid that William would harm Alice.
"Let her go," Carlos demanded, aiming a gun at William.
"Oh, and what if I don't?" William replied with a sly smile, his face moving closer to Alice's.
"Don't touch me," Alice snapped angrily.
Jill maintained a calm demeanor. "William, why are you doing this?"
"If you ask why... it's because I want to. Do I need any other reason? Remember, I'm someone who could never be reasoned with—unless the reason happens to be a very sexy one. If you want to leave here, you'll have to bring me down," William said with a grin.
Terry shook his head. "William, how could you change like this? You're not the same William I knew. This isn't you. It's not like this."
"Terry, this is me. People are the most unreliable. The ones you trust the most are often the ones who will betray you at the most critical moment," William said coldly.
Terry shook her head repeatedly. "I don't believe it. This isn't you. You're not like this. No, you're not."
"Beauty, face reality," Lj interjected. "This guy's clearly the final boss."
"Let her go," came the hoarse, unpleasant voice of the Nemesis.
"Yo, you can actually talk now?" William looked intrigued. "But you've become a monster. Why bother with rationality? Wouldn't it be better to just keep being a mindless beast?"
"Roar!"
"Don't get too excited," William taunted. "Let me completely unleash your violence. If I kill this woman in front of you, I think that would really get your blood boiling." He tightened his grip on Alice's neck.
"Ugh," Alice groaned in discomfort, struggling violently as her breathing grew labored.
"Roar!" The Nemesis bellowed. "Tear you apart! I'll shred you!"
Bang!
Carlos fired, and a bullet flew toward William.
"Why are people always so disobedient?" William's expression turned cold. The bullet stopped one meter in front of him, then suddenly reflected back.
Bang!
The bullet ricocheted toward Carlos, piercing through the back of the gun and into his shoulder.
"Ah!" Carlos screamed, dropping to his knees and clutching his wound.
Alice's struggles became more frantic, her face turning pale as she gasped for air. But William showed no mercy, his grip unrelenting.
The Nemesis let out a furious roar, "Tear you! Shred you!"
In his rage, the Nemesis's body began to mutate, his skin squirming grotesquely.
William tilted his head and smirked. "Ah, a second mutation—just as I thought."
He released Alice, letting her collapse to the ground. She coughed violently, gasping for air. "Cough... damn you..."
"Aaahhh!" The Nemesis howled, his body expanding as his transformation continued. Long bone spurs jutted from his back, one arm split into three writhing tentacles, his teeth grew sharper and more pronounced, and his entire body turned blood-red. He had fully transformed.
"Matt!" Alice cried out. "What have you done to him?"
William chuckled. "This wasn't my doing—it was his choice. Isn't it fascinating?"
"Hou!" The Nemesis stopped mutating, now larger and even more grotesque.
"Now he's a complete zombie," William said nonchalantly. "There's not an ounce of rationality left in him. A perfect little monster."
Alice glared at William furiously. "I'll never forgive you. I'll kill you myself."
"But right now, you're as weak as a worm to me," William sneered. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. After all, if the heroine dies, the Resident Evil series wouldn't exist. You need to stick around to move the plot along." He squatted down and lightly patted Alice's face.
Alice turned her face away, trying to strike him, but she lacked the strength.
"Hou!" The Nemesis growled, advancing toward William. "Tear you apart!"
William stood up, unfazed. "It seems even in your mindless state, you remember how great I am."
The Nemesis's tentacles lashed out suddenly, aiming for William.
William sidestepped the attack with ease, the tentacles slamming into the ground and leaving deep holes.
"This strength and speed… how delightful!" William grinned, rushing toward the Nemesis. Despite William's smaller size, he showed no hesitation.
The Nemesis roared, swinging its massive arms and tentacles at him repeatedly.
"Such speed for a creature your size… it's exhilarating," William said, dodging every attack effortlessly.
Boom!
William leapt into the air, landing a powerful punch on the Nemesis.
"Roar!" The Nemesis howled in pain, stumbling backward and crashing to the ground.
"Holy crap," Lj exclaimed. "Just how strong is this guy?"
William approached the fallen Nemesis calmly. "Don't worry. I'll make good use of you."
The Nemesis suddenly swung a massive fist at William's stomach.
William raised his hands to block, but the sheer force sent him flying, smashing through several steel columns before crashing through the wall of a nearby building.
