[Chapter: 104 Alice's Anger]
Watching William's body fly away and collide with the walls, Terry yelled, "William!"
Jill's face tightened as she opened her mouth to speak but made no sound.
"Roar!" The Nemesis let out an enraged roar, standing up and walking toward Alice, who was sitting on the ground.
"Matt!" Alice exclaimed, using her hands to push herself backward on the ground.
"Roar!" The Nemesis's three tentacles suddenly lashed out, stabbing toward Alice.
Alice rolled quickly across the ground, narrowly avoiding the Nemesis's attacks over and over, shouting desperately, "Matt, wake up! Matt!"
"Roar!" The Nemesis stepped forward, throwing a massive punch at Alice. If the blow connected, Alice would be reduced to nothing but a bloody pulp. But would that really happen?
Alice's eyes widened in terror as she stared at the grotesque fist barreling toward her.
Boom!
A small shield smashed into the Nemesis's body. Though the shield was small, it carried immense power.
The Nemesis howled as the impact sent him flying past Alice, tumbling several times across the ground.
"It's useless. He's a monster now, and monsters remain monsters. They only kill and devour," William said, catching the rebounding shield in his hand as he walked toward Alice.
"Nothing at all... Is he made of steel?" Lj muttered in disbelief.
"He's a real monster," Jill said, shaking her head.
Carlos slammed his fist against the ground in frustration, wincing from the pain in his shoulder. "Even that didn't kill him!"
Alice looked up at William, her voice filled with confusion. "Why... why save me?"
"Because you can't die," William replied flatly.
"Hmph. Don't think I'll be grateful to you. If I get the chance, I'll kill you," Alice spat coldly.
William spread his hands nonchalantly. "If you have that ability."
"Roar!" The Nemesis stood up again, roaring with fury as he rushed toward William.
William's expression darkened. "It's time to send you to the other side."
The shield in William's hand split apart, transforming into a sleek black longsword. Without hesitation, William charged toward the Nemesis.
"Roar!" The Nemesis swung a massive punch at William's face.
William leaped into the air, and the black sword in his hand flashed as he slashed downward. A cold glint flickered in the dim light before William landed behind the Nemesis.
"No!" Alice cried out.
"Roar!" The Nemesis froze in place, its body trembling. Slowly, it fell to the ground. A massive, jagged crack ran from its shoulder down to its waist, splitting its body in two.
William turned back to face the fallen creature. "Living as an irrational monster is a painful existence. I merely helped you end it."
Alice glared at William, her expression filled with rage as she slowly stood up. "It's you... It's all because of you!"
"Sure, you can say that. But what can you do about it?" William asked indifferently, his tone dismissive.
The black sword in his hand dissolved into a silver needle, disappearing from sight.
William approached the Nemesis's corpse, inserted the needle into its heart, and began to extract a glowing blue liquid.
"The best part of your body can't just go to waste like this," William murmured, watching as the transparent fluid filled the tube. The liquid was none other than the evolved T-virus.
Once the needle was filled, William pulled it out and smirked. "I'll make good use of this."
"William!" Alice screamed. "I'll kill you—I want to kill you!"
William turned to look at her, noticing her hair beginning to sway unnaturally, as though caught in an invisible wind. An unseen force surrounded her.
"I didn't expect this... You've awakened the power of your mind," William muttered, his eyes narrowing.
Alice's pupils suddenly darkened, expanding into a triangular black pattern—shimmering with an eerie kaleidoscope-like design.
"Ahh!" Alice cried out, clutching her head in agony.
Bang! Bang!
A powerful pulse of energy erupted from her, lifting the floor beneath her in waves and sending debris flying toward William amidst a thick cloud of dust and smoke.
"Seriously, does everyone get superpowers these days?" Lj exclaimed, his mouth agape.
"I can't believe it… She really has this kind of power," Carlos muttered, his disbelief evident.
Asiford watched with excitement. "It's the T-virus! This has to be the power of the T-virus!"
Boom!
William was blasted backward, crashing through a steel door and landing deep within the building.
"Ahhh!" Alice screamed again, writhing in pain. She clutched her head as she collapsed to the ground.
"We need to get out of here!" Carlos shouted. "Hurry up, get her to the helicopter!"
Jill and Lj rushed to Alice's side, helping her to her feet and guiding her toward the helicopter.
"William..." Terry whispered, staring at the hole where William had disappeared.
"Leave him! That guy's no hero," Lj snapped.
"No! In my heart, he's a good man!" Terry yelled back.
Lj shook his head, sighing. "Fine, if he's such a good guy, then you can stay here with him."
Asiford, whose legs were paralyzed, called out to Lj. "Help my father!" Angela added urgently.
"Fine, I'm coming," Lj grumbled, heading toward them.
Just as they prepared to leave, a voice echoed from the rubble.
"Others can leave, but he... He stays. I'm in urgent need of a good doctor."
Everyone froze, turning toward the source of the sound.
"What is this guy made of?" Lj muttered, stunned. "He just doesn't die!"
Everyone had these thoughts.
