Adyah gazed at the bluey sky laying down on the grass field, his expression calms yet profound his childish eyes appeared as deep as the horizon itself seemingly having no end to it. Such a world view was hard even for a sage who have roamed throughout the universe for centauries and yet Adyah despite being only thirteen possesses such frightening ability to him.
At once no one would make big of a child gazing at the horizon enjoying some summer breeze although this had been Adyah daily routine for a week now, he cannot even remember when it all started, the premonition. As if someone or something was telling him for a possible mishap that have yet to happen and yet despites all his tries and methods, he got nothing. His life has been ordinary and simple, the way it meant to be.
The current him might appear careless and oblivious to the upcoming threat but that was just because he has already narrowed down the perfect moment when someone could possibly pose any harm to him a week from now, the mana Awakening Ceremony.
Despite that he was not truly concerned about it as even if some harms were to be caused it possibly can't hinder his future path. it wasn't because he was oblivious or being ignorant to the latent threat but due to his confidence in himself. After all even Sages would think twice before harming a Divine being much less some mortals.
Divine Being akin to God someone who could possibly perform any action imaginative. The only true powerhouses of the universe, someone who can annihilate planes with his fingers motion. Adyah was once such a being and he stood on the pinnacle amongst all the other.
It has been a month since he returned to the past for reasons unknown. Fortunately, his spirit was not at all dampened because despite being one of the most powerful magic users at his prime there was still somethings he could never truly finished off, some regrets as well some heavy mistakes but now he could do all that right.
Thinking of all the beautiful future possibilities and meeting his old acquittances again, a subtle smile gradually formed on Adyah's face. The smile not only shows his excitement toward the future but also his confidence after all he was hailed as almost a god once.
Now maybe a mortal only and not as powerful but only a handful of things can possibly harm him.
Above all the second and most important thing he was most fortunate and thankful about was being able to be with one person he lost in the past and could not regret enough. Despite being at the at peak of humanity once he still felt all alone as the only person, he set out to achieve all this was nowhere by his side, that one person he has ever loved, Sophie.
"Adyah why are you always looking at the clear sky?" a sweet melodious voice called him from behind, almost instantly Adyah immediately lost all his interest to everything around him.
The vast cosmos, the peak of the world even being a world conqueror amounted to nothing but fleeting moments that he would live through his life and yet he only wanted to experience this next moment again and again in a loop for eternity.
Turning around Adyah saw a girl of his age with nothing extra ordinary feature but to him she shined with brilliance she wore a simple floral frock suit which not only displayed her simplicity but also unmatched beauty. His eyes that was once listless even gazing at the cosmos now shined twinklingly with pure innocence.
"After all these years, I am finally able to see her again. This sight was something I have dreamt thousands of times but never thought it would become reality someday." He stood there motionless gazing at the girl before him not daring to even blink scared to lose the sight of her. Numerous emotions were going through his mind tough his eyes remained unchanged even his expression did not flinch at the slightest.
"What? you just going to stood there and stare at me listless? Aren't you going to jump on me and ambush me today." Sophie annoyed voice resounded the field bringing Adyah back to reality. She appeared vigilant but mostly was annoyed due to Adyah gaze, this was her first time she could not comprehend what was going through the boy's mind.
'He is somewhat different today.' Sophie thoughts.
'She is still the same as always.' Adyah muttered to himself before standing up he then patted off the dust on his clothes.
Smiling he turned to the girl and said "what are you talking about miss beautiful, who would dare to harm the Lord's lovely daughter. only a mad psycho probably?"
Sophie already aware of the tactics could not even mouth out a single word before Adyah closed the distance between them. She was surprised at first but instantly turned to battle mode with both her arms in front her stance perfected to defend as she waited to fend of the opponent.
'He is coming.'
Adyah wasting no time at all advanced toward Sophie. Mind it Sophie was famed as Generational genius since birth someone who would only appears once in a generation as such it was very hard to even withstood her attack much less fight her. In the past Adyah was always beaten by her badly but in exchanges he learned various martial arts and techniques that was almost impossible for someone as poor as him.
Eventually they both profited Sophie got a sparring partner who would always do his best to get one above her without caring about her status and Adyah got a genius instructor who would help him solidify his foundation further, this was how they even get acquainted in the first place six months ago.
'The past me would thoroughly get beaten here even though I would hold my ground for the longest time in the past six months training period but in end Sophie would still beat me like a dog but that was something in the past today I have to leave a lasting impression on her by hook or crook.' With a mischievous smirk Adyah appeared before Sophie as expected there was no opening almost immediately a flying punch welcomed him, he dodged it with a few margins and twisted his body like a ghost as if he teleported, he appeared behind her and straight went for the knees hoping to disbalance her.
Sophie who was somewhat impressed by this new move but the very next second, she kicked with full force without even turning back. seeing this Adyah expression became grim he put both his hand in front to block but then he opened a small gap between them and also position both his hand in a circular position bracing for impact.
The moment Sophie kick grazed his hand skin he instantly closed the gap between his hands reducing the force by a lot, but the impact still reached his chest fortunately the momentum was reduced to minimum else he would have suffered a major injury. His hands have turned fiery red with brunt skin on places but despites all that Adyah face wore a smile, he succeeds.
Sophie on the other end felt gob smacked she stood there petrified unable to process what just happened but above all she was surprised by the sacrificial tactic of her opponent.
'What just happened? Did he just lured me in for victory putting himself on backfoot eventually getting a major upper hand. The current me is defenseless and caught in a very awkward position forget attacking even getting out of this is hard not to mention his grip on my leg has not lessened at all even after such an impact.'
'I am sure I used all of prowess in that kick so even if he tried to hold it with his sacrificial strategy, it should still be able to reach him blasting him into distance unless…'
Sophie eyes become sharp suddenly as something dawn on her though the possibility was low it was not unheard of with a questioning gaze she asked, "when did you break through to the ninth apprentice level?" her voice was full of unhidden surprise.
Just a month back on their last training session Adyah was only a fifth level apprentice far below the high level as well as the last hurdle before becoming a mage but now that same person had advance not one not twice but four freaking levels in just a month span.
This was something only heard in legends as so and yet Sophie was about to witness something similar right in front of her very eyes. It was also because of her disposition and her trust in Adyah that she appeared so calm, if there was any other person on her place, they would have already dragged him to an alchemist for any sign of evil or unorthodox practices.
And yet Sophie remained unperturbed waiting for the other party response yet all what transpired today has long changed her view how she viewed Adyah in the past.
A beautiful smile blossomed on Adyah face as he loses his grip on the leg letting go, he closed the distance between them merely stopping an inch away from her "How was it? did you like your student gift teacher." At this moment Adyah let out a heartfelt smile full of innocence with mission accomplished he was truly happy at this moment.
Sophie who was caught in a stupor and nodded unknowingly there was something about that childlike smile that seems to bewitch her, a very foreign felling she was never privy to rose within.
"What did I made you fall for me or something?" seeing the little girl flushed face Adyah went a bit further and teased her, but he regretted his action the very next moment. As he was punched straight to the face blasting him into distance, but it did not stop there Sophie who was already frustrated enough due to today's surprising event let it all out by beating him for ten minutes straight before leaving with a satisfied smile on her face.
"Fuck I still couldn't escape the beating, and it seems she thrashed me more thoroughly than the last time."
