Chapter 1 - Sura village

It's another dreary night in Sura village and despite the cold all the saurians were warm thanks to their habitation.

Their village resides and depends upon a hillscape and the area that surrounds it, they have their general jobs and other structures on and around the hills while they sleep inside of the hill itself. They had dug into the them and using cedar wood as stability, they managed to make a spacious and reliable living quarters where the 580 saurians of Sura village call home.

The early morning comes around and it's just as cold as the night, many of the saurians awake early to prepare food and stalls for the upcoming Ualoo festival. It's during this festival that they celebrate the construction of their village from a 5 years ago.

As some of the saurians leave the hole the sun causes a glare and ripple effect as it touches upon their scales. The scales of the saurians vary in shades of green from a light oriental green to a deep terre verde, the muscle underneath their scales slightly secrete a wet liquid similar to sweat during the day as a cooling mechanism due to having heightened sensitivity to hotter temperatures.

Few hours after many of the saurians started to set up for the Ualoo festival had led it to be completed and organised. The village chief, Prodion, walks towards the center of the square where there is many people waiting for him to speak and is followed by his 5 guards. A small saurian, who seems to be no older than 2 looks up from the crowd and his deep brown and scowling eyes lock onto Prodion's generous and kind eyes.

Prodion smiles at the boy saurian and starts his speech.

"Saurians of Saru village. We stand here today in commemorating the 5 year stature of our village. We carved our home with our own labour. We rebuilt our families from the depths. We are stronger and happier than we ever were in the Saine village. Good riddance to them and we should be proud of ourselves and how far we've come!" Prodion says this in a very loud yet kind demeanour.

As the loud voice lower signifying the end of the speech the crowd cheer and express admiration towards Prodion. The young saurian continues to glare at the chief yet seems to approve of Prodion's speech, as if he was a judge and proceeds to walk towards Prodion.

"That was a nice speech Uncle Prodi" the boy says with the same glare but also smiles.

"Thank you Dax, I appreciate you coming to listen to my speech instead of going to the graves. I know today is a very important day for you"

"The graves... I'm going to see them soon" Dax expression gets progressively more dull as they keep talking

"Do you mind if I join with you this year?" Trying to lighten Dax's mood by keeping him company, he tended to be alone on this specific day

Dax looks to another direction and nods. Without anymore words he walks stiffly towards the gravesite.
