Raze could feel the Mana from the crystal entering his skin, it was a nice sensation to experience.
"5 Mana, so they aren't even classified as F-tier, at least I now know how absorption works"
He continued forward; the forest was really quiet, with nothing moving, and the path he took was different from the one they took when they encountered goblins.
After walking for some minutes, he finally saw the first significant thing, a big rock that was drawn on the map he was given, meaning he was on the right path, and he continued forward.
Next was a large tree that was close to the dungeon; if he got to the tree, then he was just steps away from the dungeon; Raze continued forward, looking around, making sure not to miss anything.
He also kept his eyes on the trees he walked by not to have a repeat of the goblin Archer that attacked earlier; he didn't come across any other beasts till he got to the large tree, which was possibly the largest tree in the entire forest.
"Oh, maybe from here I can scout the entrance of the dungeon," Raze thought as he began climbing the tree; it had sturdy branches that he could easily climb, and from where he was, he could finally see the dungeon.
"Well, it's 2 Silver coins, so what do I expect?" Raze mumbled as he saw the entrance of the cave, which had two wolves lying down.
The wolves weren't asleep, just lying down as he could see them turning around; Raze sat there for a minute watching them, and like it couldn't get any worse, another wolf emerged from the cave.
"What that?" Raze was shocked as more and more wolves came out from the entrance. Now there were ten, including the two that were there in the beginning, but soon, all the wolves began moving away.
"Oh, they are going hunting, this is a good chance." Raze smiled as slowly all ten of the wolves began moving away and spreading out, but one of the wolves was heading directly to where he was.
The wolf slowly moved closer and closer to Raze till it was inches away from the tree he was, and the wolf stopped sniffing around. It could smell him, but it couldn't see where he was.
[Black Wolf]
[Level 3]
Since it was level 3, the same level Raze was, he couldn't tell what HP the wolf had; he would have to find out by himself, but with his spell [Fireball], two shots could be fired simultaneously, so he wasn't worried.
The wolf kept sniffing around, and Raze positioned himself with his back resting on a branch. Then he pointed his hands towards the wolf, careful not to miss any shot, and he wasn't aiming for the body of the wolf; instead, he was aiming for the head.
Wolves were quick, and for a mage to face two at once, it was harder; if he was a knight, then fighting two wolves wouldn't be hard, but he wasn't.
The wolf finally got into a good place where Raze wanted, and with the wolf still sniffing, Raze struck.
[Fireball]
Two fireballs shot from Raze's hands with a loud whoosh. The first fireball hit the wolf right on the side of its head, making it yelp and stumble back. The second fireball struck its chest, scorching its fur and knocking it off balance.
The wolf whined, struggling to stay on its feet, but Raze wasn't taking any chances. He quickly cast another fireball, this time hitting the wolf straight in the face. The wolf collapsed with a final whimper before its body started to dissolve.
[You've defeated Black Wolf]
[15 XP gained]
Raze let out a breath of relief. First, he looked around to make sure none of the other wolves were around before climbing down from the tree carefully.
"That was close… If it howled, the others might've returned," Raze muttered, wiping his sweaty palms on his robe.
He was nervous. His palms had begun to sweat; the game was so accurate it knew he was nervous; he wasn't nervous because of the wolf but the fact that if he missed, then the other wolves would be alarmed, and then he would have to deal with 10 of them.
Since the wolves won't be able to climb up the tree, he would have to stay there, and he wouldn't be able to log out. If he died, then he would have to wait for three whole days before being able to log in.
He walked towards where the wolf was and picked up the crystal along with a fang dropped, he quickly placed both of them in his inventory.
The wolf was F-tier, and one fireball wasn't enough to take it down; he just hoped he wouldn't come across anyone higher than this.
He glanced toward the cave entrance. The wolves were still gone.
"Alright, time to grab the Moon Glow and get out of here."
Staying low, he moved toward the cave, keeping his eyes and ears alert for any signs of the wolves returning.
He arrived at the dungeon entrance and walked in, the dungeon was big enough to let four people walk side by side.
[Dungeon Of the Steel-Fanged Lycan]
"Well, isn't that just great hopefully we don't cross paths till I get out of here"
