Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Moon Glow

Raze continued forward, and slowly, the light coming from the entrance wasn't reaching inside of the cave, but another light slowly began illuminating the inside of the cave.

From the wall, light blue crystals began illuminating the rest of the cave. As he walked further in, Raze's eyes were peeled, looking around; from the ground of the cave, different grasses were growing, but there was just grass and not what he was looking for.

After walking further in, he was met with two paths leading different ways, one to the right and the other to the left; both of these paths might lead him to the moon glow, but one of them might also lead him to the dungeon boss.

The dungeon boss was going to tear him apart; a level 20 beast facing a level 3 player is out of the question; he wasn't the main character and, therefore, didn't have plot armor.

His fireballs won't be able to damage the body of the wolf so it was sure death.

Raze followed his gut and took the right, heading deeper into the dungeon. Luckily, he hadn't encountered a single wolf, but he was still cautiously looking back each time.

Raze stopped as his eyes caught something: a plant with a glowing flower. He immediately looked at the drawing he had in his hand, and it matched the plant perfectly.

'I'll be damned; I found it' Raze immediately used his hands and began to dig the area surrounding the plants, the roots weren't deep and soon he had the plant in his hands.

[Moon Glow]

The information appeared in front of Raze, and a smile formed on his face; he actually found the plant; all he had to do now was to walk back and exit the cave, but of course, why want 2 silver coins when you can have 4?

Since the dungeon was quiet and he made it this far, what was stopping him from going further?

'I'll stop in exactly 30 steps if I don't see another moon glow,' Raze said in his head, and he continued walking forward.

"My instincts are fucking amazing," Raze muttered, not wanting to make much noise as he saw the second moon glow. After walking for only 24 steps, he quickly did the same and dug it out.

Now he had two moon glow plants in his inventory, and he wasn't dumb enough to continue; this was exactly the kind of trap for a player; the girl that gave him the quest told him he was lucky enough to find two, but he found two without walking that far in.

This means that if he indeed continues, there is a possibility of finding more moon glow plants, and then he might find trouble.

Raze turned around, walking back the same way he came; this was already enough, more than what he wanted; with 4 silver coins, he could buy two spell books and maybe save up for something else.

It didn't take long for him to reach where the path got divided, but then he heard a sound and quickly moved back from where he was. Even if a beast came out from the left side, it wouldn't see him, but he knew wolves had a good nose so he was already prepared.

During his fight with the first wolves, he used up 15 Mana with three first balls, and 5 had recovered. Raze heard the sound getting closer, and soon he knew the beast was just on the other side.

Before Raze could turn and peek, the sound was already coming towards him, and boom.

[Fireball]

He quickly shot a fireball at close range, but he missed as the beast he was aiming for was not a fully grown wolf but just a pup, and the fireball passed right on top of it, hitting the walls and making a loud sound.

The pup quickly turned around and ran, tail tucked and ears flat. Its paws stumbled as it fled, whimpering and glancing back with wide, scared eyes.

"Shit, it's just a pup, I've got to get out of here"

Raze needed to leave immediately, with the sound he made with his fireball and a wolf pup running only meant one thing, more wolves were soon to come.

It didn't take long for Raze to appear at the cave entrance, and from there, he took the same way, first going towards the large tree, but he didn't stop there as he continued running.

After a while of running, he stopped breathing heavily and slumped to the ground; he was out of breath, with his stamina at 10, this didn't surprise him.

'At least I'm not close to the dungeon, I can walk back...' Raze stopped as in front of him were three wolves.

It seemed they couldn't find any prey to catch, so obviously, they were going to go for the one in front of them, which was him.

Raze quickly stood up; now there was no tree for him to climb on; he was already exhausted from running, and wolves are faster, so that's out of the equation.
