His brow raised as he contemplated the descriptions.
'Other than the skills being good….and different, the descriptions…are also peculiar'. He found it interesting, but his attention was drawn to Something else.
'Generic skills'.
Paxton's character speciality was a Brawler, something that was different from class and profession but had some things similar to it.
The major difference would be specialities were grouped into seven.
Brawler, Caster, Gunslinger, Battlemaster, Utility, Summoner and Swordsman.
Their differences were in their speciality on the battlefield, and it made up their peculiarity.
They had generic skills which were obtainable for all characters within a specific speciality.
For example, the skill SLAM was a generic skill meant for Brawlers, Battlemadters and Swordsmen.
However, these skills weren't obtainable at the same period but over the course of their occupation as players.
Other than that, their characters have special skills that belong to them thanks to their properties.
A character whose property is fire is most likely to obtain skills related to fire, and so on.
'It's a good system, to say the least'.
He was satisfied with his line of skills, though, for a Novice, he had to imagine he was given a lot.
Ten skills to start with as a Level Five Player was difficult to find unless you purchased skills cards from the Item shop or General Market.
Skill cards were broken into six categories, beginning with Common, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black and Red.
After checking his skills, he picked out the costume cards, tapping his inventory with his intent.
It caused three cards to materialize on his hands.
One a plain grey colour and the other a bright bronze colour. There was a doodle image of a shirt and houses on two and a sword on one.
He tore off the three together and the familiar voice of the server rang in his head.

[CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE COMMON PROP, MIMIC HEAD SET]
[CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE COMMON PROP, MIMIC TUNER]
His brow raised at the statement and he quickly summoned his first props by tapping his intentions on their names.
Both props materialized one over his head and the other a metal face mask, over his mouth.
'Oh?' He thought, standing up from the bed and walking towards the broken mirror.
He couldn't get a good look over it since it was shattered but he got a general overview.
The mimic headset, just like the name, was an iron headphone with a music note rod sticking at the sides of the ear-like horns.
He touched it slightly and noticed the ear pads were actually wheelers. He spun it around when He noticed a significant change in his hearing.
'Oh?' He thought, glancing at the status to read the descriptions.
MIMIC HEAD SET(clothes)
Item Description; Made from a folklore creature of sound and iron.
You can change the frequency and wavelengths of the sounds you hear.
MIMIC TUNER(clothes)
Item Description; Made from a folklore creature of sound and iron.
Can change the frequency, pitch and wavelengths of the sounds you say.
It was a straightforward description, something he understood instantly.
He tapped the mask on his face, his gaze lingering at the sight of it.
It was an impressive work of art, with fangs protruding at the mouthpiece while its iron parts stretched towards his ear.
He trailed his finger across it and noticed its connection with the headset.
'Hm? What if I?'. He thought as he attempted to speak.
"Aaargh~" He muttered, his words coming out in incoherent language, though it was no longer a pitch.
He placed his hand on his right ear pad, and turned it around, like a radio, checking for the best frequency for his speech. As he did so, he continued to mutter incident words, his language slowly coming back to him as he did so.
"AaaRght~"
"AaaRRRRTTT"
"Aaargggh~ttt"
He felt a slight irritation as he continued, attempting to spin the left ear pad, but that only changed the effect of his hearing. With a click of his tongue, he focused on the right once again, his fingers turning it over, as he found the right pitch and tone slowly.
'Almost there'. He thought when his words finally came out right.
"Art".
He froze for a second, his fingers sticking to the part where his pads had turned to while he glanced at himself in the mirror.
"Nice". He said, a satisfied smile spreading across his face though it was covered by his face mask.
"Now, it's time to see what I'm capable of'.
The rooms provided were of fortified steel, so he could display most of his abilities, but a different function was also provided for when they decided to train.
He simply walked to the door and tapped the scanner with the button that said training facility for the room to change.
The bed shifted back to a corner and a metal training dummy emerged from a hole in the floor.
Other than that, the walls seemed to have fortified themselves and the doors locked shut. All this occurred noisily, with a mix of humming and vibratory sounds.
"Alright, then".
He walked over to the dummy, his fists clenched and slammed into it with all his strength.
A slight grunt escaped his lips as he did, and a brief sigh of relief followed after as he withdrew his hand to observe the damage.
The metal dummy had bent from the brunt of his attack.
"65 strength for you".
From what he observed, his status levelled up with his general level. He had obtained an additional 5 points and 50 for speed.
'Though, the reason for speed is uncertain'.
There were often times characters were granted specific stats peculiar to their properties.
Characters with sound and lightning tend to have speed stats or dexterity, especially if they require it.
He pulled his fist backwards, and aimed a punch again, sending a chain of attack soon after.
He slammed it with his fists and legs, causing a loud thud to echo as his strikes came on impact with the training dummy.
He seemed persistent and relentless until his gaze suddenly flickered with intensity.
[SMASH]
His fist bore a hole through the metal dummy, a rattling sound project throughout the walls of the room.
He froze, his gaze fixed on his fist as he pulled it out from the dented dummy. A fist-sized hole was left behind on the dummy.
"I see….but if I were to spread the surface area, would it still have the same influence?" He thought, his fingers placed under his chin as he stared at the dummy.
The object began to self-repair itself, regaining its former pristine nature right before his eyes. He chuckled a little, and a smile formed on his face.
'Let's try the weapon'.
He materialized the bat and gong, and just like the material said, they were metal.
'Wonder what I do with the gong' he thought as he returned the gong to his inventory, leaving just the iron bat.
He grabbed it and swung it around, adjusting his arms to the weight.
'It feels just right….' he thought, his gaze shifting from the bat to the dummy.
A moment of tension ensued before he suddenly took a step forward, lowering his centre of gravity and boosting himself as he swung his bat through the air. A whistling sound broke the silence as he slammed it against the dummy.
