Chapter 1 - Prologue

If you had a chance to stop time for everyone except yourself would you? Say there's no downside and everything will return to normal after a certain amount of time, would you? There's a reason I'm asking this question and it's exactly what you think. Currently, I'm sitting in class pondering this question which I've been wondering about for some time now. For most people it would be an obvious yes, without a doubt, but if you think about it the loneliness and solidarity would be disheartening and overwhelming for a lot of regular people. Though... Not to brag but I'm kind of a loner. It's not like I don't have anyone to talk to or hang out with but I just don't want to, it's just easier to be alone, for me at least. Well back on track to the question at hand. To go into more detail about the time stopping I only have a couple of weeks to decide and the set amount of time is unknown since the thing that offered it said it was a "lifetime" assuming we're going off the average in the United States that's about 77 years... Quite a long time. They did tell me that I would be able to choose two out of five things they'd offer me but didn't say what and that somehow the Internet and electricity would still work normally. Honestly, what would I even do for 77 years? I could beat all the games I haven't had time for, work out, maybe learn some new languages even, learn to draw. Uh... Yeah, maybe if I were to travel the world it'll work out. But even then will that take 77 years? Very debatable in my opinion. Maybe it will since I don't know how to pilot an aircraft but even then driving-wise it usually doesn't take long. I haven't thought long and hard about anything recently so maybe I'll just accept to get it over with, I mean what's the worst that could happen?
