It was just another nice and peaceful day after school and I was walking home at my usual slow pace, by myself. Being careful to not hit anything while reading on my phone I raise the volume on my earbuds as I reach a green light. While waiting for the light to turn red I look around making sure to be aware of my surroundings, although I look like an idiot it's just something I do, a habit. Not seeing anything out of place or anyone looking at me suspiciously I turn back in time to see the light turn red and cross the street. "Mm to think it's already wintertime... Well, I like the snow and honestly, I'd much rather it be cold than hot..." With another quick look around I continue my walk home without any problems I arrive a short 40 minutes after school. Taking my keys out of my pocket and opening the door I close and lock it as usual before taking my shoes off and heading upstairs. Since my mom and dad work almost every day usually I just do my own thing for food and stuff but I'm feeling extra lazy today so maybe I'll just snack on something and lie down. Makes me feel like a slacker but I do decent in school and don't get into trouble so no complaints from anyone so far. Sitting on my bed I lay down and close my eyes enjoying the chill EDM music from my favorite artist. After fully settling in I sit up and turn on my monitor and pc seeing it boot up and load into the sign-in screen I log in as usual before I hear a loud bang downstairs. "What the fuck?" Taking out my earbuds and throwing them on my bed I head downstairs carefully not making much sound and lean my head out to see if anything is amiss. Seeing nothing open or on the ground from where I am, I stop being a wuss and walk down the stairs before entering the kitchen and picking up the little frog light my mom bought for the sink. "This little thing?" About the size of my palm, the light is in three pieces which I quickly toss in the garbage. "That was weird as fuck, I thought someone broke in..." As I turn around and start walking back to the stairs I hear a knock at the door. *Knock* *Knock* "Coming!" Not suspecting a single thing after a weird event like that probably wasn't the best idea because as soon as I opened the door I was greeted with a masked man...
