She is not actually scolding Maya only. With a tongue in a volcanic crater, the elf girl starts her morning sermons, uttering no word without spitting out hot lava.
"You, you, you, and you! You are all nothing but burdens for society!"
"Two days from now, they'll send me to Flemur to carry out a C-rank mission. This is a mission with a level of difficulty that I can actually complete by myself with three of my team members without any help from anyone!"
"But it seems like the Academy intentionally places useless burdens like you as part of the test before my graduation!"
Who knows what personal issues she has with Maya, she then stands so close in front of the timid girl just to insult her personally.
"First, they put a healer who doesn't even have endurance in my team! What a burden! I'm sure, after two years here without any progress, the Helzenski family must be ashamed to have a useless descendant like you! It would be much better for you to stay at home and learn how to be a good housewife! With the little stamina you have, at least you can satisfy your husband on bed!"
No one could follow her in this fierce vein. The tears that have previously welled up in Maya's eyes now spill down her cheeks. But Elea only gives a short shrift to the girl's fragile heart, and simply continues her insults towards the Seed D student next to her.
"Here's another one. And to be frankly, I'm sick when I do look on you, an ugly elf with the dirtiest blood in Bastardia, a mage who almost has no mana! Useless!"
"Tch!" Unlike Maya, Lily doesn't hide her hatred at all.
The two elf girls from two different tribes stare at each other for a while, before Elea glances at the man standing to Lily's left. She finds the pervert guy's face flushed, with his gaze clearly directed at her sexy boobs.
Without holding back anything, she smacks the man's head and shouts loudly in front of his face. "How dare you look at my boobs so openly like that? Are you taking me as a dumb girl like these two useless harlots?"
Worse, this pervert guy still has the audacity to argue. "I'm a healthy man! And it's normal if I'm attracted to such a beauty you have over there! After all, what's the point of wearing such a getup if you don't let people see those damn boobs?"
"What did you say?"
"It would be better if you just go naked, so everyone knows how amazing the girls of the elf race are!"
Unable to stomach the insult, Elea grabs the pervert dude's neck and squeezes it hard. "You filthy human really know how to talk with your foul mouth! All in your head is only about sex and procreation! Like animals!"
Again, Aezel the Silver Witch interferes with her just like last night. She holds Elea's left shoulder and spreads cold to cool the back of her neck down.
"Please! Let me take over from here!"
"Tch!"
Elea releases the pervert guy's neck. She then glances at Irvine, and unlike before, now she finds Irvine has the courage to look her in the eye with hatred.
"What? Not satisfied that I haven't said anything about you? You are not even worth another second of my time even if it's only for another insult!"
Unlike Elea, Aezel has a calm personality, looks mature not in appearance, but in the way he carries herself. Before giving sermons to those four lower grade students, she calmly responds to the pervert dude's insolent attitude like a genuine mafia boss.
"Jack! I acknowledge your ability as a sharpshooter. But you lack focus, easily distracted, and careless. You are sharp, but fragile like a thin glass."
The pervert guy no longer utters a word to refute. Afterwards, Aezel explains their purpose gathering the four of them there. This is related to Elea's doubts about their ability to survive out there while carrying out a C-rank mission. And indeed, it's very rare for Seed E students to be involved in a mission with this level of difficulty.
"We have discussed this before with Head Master Rugal, and he has accepted our request to give you a simple test. If you fail, we have the right to refuse you from joining our team."
"Can we voluntarily withdraw?" Maya asks.
"Of course," Aezel replies. "But you will get a 0 score for this one mission. The same will apply if you fail the test we give. That's not good at all for a Seed E student like you. So I suggest you take it."
"The test is not that complicated," Elea chimes in. "You just need to swim from here to the small pier over there!"
Elea points to a pier on the eastern edge of the lake, almost 400 m away. There's a spiky-haired guy named Cody Oughan - still in the same team as Elea and Aezel - already standing at the pier holding a small red flag.
Seeing the distance of the pier, Maya's face is immediately filled with despair. But it's different with Jack. The pervert guy smiles amusedly with whatever wild fantasy he has in his mind.
And then, it is Lily's turn to raise her voice to argue. "Why didn't you tell us from the start that we had to swim? At least we could have gotten here in our swimsuits."
Soon after Lily expresses her complaint, Jack immediately pinches his nose. His face has even turned so red.
Knowing what might be inside the dude's mind, Aezel simply smacks his head before responding to Lily's complaint.
"Do you think the monsters out there will wait for you to change before you escape from them? Besides, after crossing the lake, you still have to run around the circle road clockwise, and return here via the northern overpass. And you have to do this five times in two hours."
"That's too much!" Maya whines. "The road alone is more than two kilometers. There's no way we can make it in just two hours. Beside…"
Annoyed by her weak-minded personality, Aezel immediately cuts her words. "The average speed of a marathon runner nowadays is 6 minutes per kilometer. You should be able to do better than that. And you should be able to reach the pier in less than 10 minutes! If you can't do that much, better pack your stuff and leave this academy. No offense intended! I'm telling you this for your own good."
"Ah! Please keep in mind," Elea interrupts. "During this test, Aezel and I will attack you with our magic from here."
"Eeeeh?"
"If you get hit and still alive, you have to repeat the test from the beginning. Now get ready! We'll give you 10 minutes to warm up!"
