The water shot out and it was definitely more than the amount that was poured in. A miracle. If Jamie hadn't seen super powers fighting in the apocalypse, she would have also marveled at this spectacle like everyone else.
But she knew how it looked when the Water lineage superpower person used his power. Exactly this scene. There were some minor changes because this wasn't the same as when a water user uses a water jet.
Water jets were lethal. Water was the life-giving, eternal, and calm element but water jets were, destroying it. Water jets could give its bruises in the lightest.
Jamie had fought many water users so she knew that the calm and gentle-looking water element user was a person to look out for. Who knows what would set them off and make them shoot water?
"Woe, captain, you shot water."
The zombie that was reduced to an angry mess was seething but no one was paying attention. Everyone looked at the guy with adoring eyes. He was a celebrity now.
"How did you do that?"
The guy looked at the water gun with fascination in his eyes.
"This gun is magical."
He answered.
"There's no such thing as magic!"
A girl replied.
She took the gun from him and tried.
"See, nothing happened."
Everyone calmed down thinking that the one-time use was just a miracle.
The guy looked at Sawyer as if he was making an appointment to talk later.
The zombie moaned as if making its presence known.
"Whoa, we didn't kill this one yet."
They then started attacking the zombie once again. Finally, after having their attention, the zombies started fighting them. It was a full-on battle scene now.
"They are weird!"
Jamie nodded. The girl was right. She sat up wiping her face and looked at them fight.
"Can I go and fight?"
Jamie shook her head. Her injury wasn't healed. There were internal injuries that could get better with professional help.
Sawyer found Jamie heartlessly talking with the injured girl without being concerned that her water gun would be considered a special item and she could be caught.
A stupid girl!
"Whoa!"
This solved his dilemma.
Everyone looked at their captain in shock. He used the water gun and shot water again.
The zombie felt the tearing skin and howled. The zombie was taking lessons from wolves, it seemed.
"So, the water gun isn't special."
A person muttered.
"But our captain is special!"
"Wow!"
Sawyer was worried that they would all corner Jamie because she took out the water gun. And think that she was the one who controlled the water gun. That would make her a really important person and others would want to keep her under their control.
Sawyer didn't want that. She was in his guild and he didn't want others eyeing his guild members. Even if he asked for her help, he needed to keep her safe. Away from the prying eyes of these idiots. He had verified his conjecture and now he was going to get her to help him.
"It looked like your captain is the first person to awake superpowers for the first time in our history."
They all cheered and danced. The zombie was forgotten once again. If there were other zombies with the same level, they wouldn't be so casual. But this zombie wasn't a threat so they weren't that worried. It was unprofessional but they didn't change.
"Hey, you idiots. We can't publicize this matter."
The girl who had interrupted the captain before interrupted them again. They looked at her in confusion.
"Why?"
"You all are really idiots."
She rolled her eyes.
"If you broadcast this, won't we be hunted?"
"Ohh!"
A person jumped and his knife flew up and hit the zombie in the heart. The zombie died easily.
No one paid attention to the zombie except Sawyer. The gossip eyes were all focused on the captain and the girl who was speaking. Even Jamie was involved in their drama.
She realized the zombie's condition later so she felt sympathy for the zombie for the first time. Because when a zombie is killed, most people celebrate their chance of living and then focus on the crystal core. But for the first time, there was something that was more important than the zombie.
It was the emergence of a superpower.
This opened new doors for them.
"Yes, Goldy is right!"
The captain spoke and then he leveled a look at all of the team members. As if trying to scare them.
"Boss, I won't speak of this even in my drunken ramblings."
"I won't think of it in my wildest dreams."
Were they seriously fighting over a stupid reveal scenario?
Jamie felt that this team was really awesome. Sawyer felt that they were nosy and tended to distract themselves easily. He wondered how they managed to stay alive for so long without getting hit by other teams.
They were just so naive.
He was sure that there should be something he was missing. Otherwise their guild couldn't employ them, right?
Jamie was not concerned at all. She didn't wonder whether she was becoming a variable in this plan. No one paid attention to the water gun she provided.
"So, it's decided that this will be our top secret number one now."
They all nodded.
"Then boss, what about our previous secret number one?"
They all looked at him.
Sawyer was exasperated.
He wanted to facepalm but he had to see how the captain would react.
"Well, it's secret number two now."
The captain was okay. Sawyer decided to not interfere more lest he became brainless like them.
"Here, your water gun. Can I buy it from you?"
Jamie looked at him with surprise evident on her face.
"That, I know, but thus gun was the thing that made me realize my power. It is special to me. Can I buy it from you?"
What was she supposed to tell him?
Jamie looked at Sawyer!
