Chapter 16 - Hunting the Monsters-[2]

"Let's see who kills more monsters, Arvian! Yohoo!" Jaxyn shouted with excitement.

"Let's go!" Arvian responded, determined.

Arvian gripped his sword tightly and charged straight toward the front monster.

He swung his sword, aiming for the monster's massive, thick legs. The blade struck, but it hardly seemed to scratch the monster's hard skin. It wasn't enough to take it down.

When Arvian realized that his current strength was insufficient to defeat these monsters, his heart began to race.

'Dang, I should've bought some strong abilties...'

The massive monster turned with a roar and swung a powerful punch toward Arvian. He barely managed to dodge before the punch smashed past him, sending air gusts that almost knocked him down.

"Holy smokes... think, think...'

His chest was thumping with his heart. He hurriedly took a few steps back, looking around for any openings.

Instinctively, his hand went to the system inventory, and he flicked his wrist to bring the Celestial Chain into his grasp.

With its eyes blazing with rage, the unrelenting monster charged at him with amazing speed. With a concentrated effort, Arvian gripped the chain tighter. The sharp end of the chain crackled with a dark energy as he swung it like a whip.

With a powerful snap, the chain wrapped around the monster's ankle, and Arvian yanked it toward him with all his strength. With a loud thud, the beast fell to the ground after stumbling. However, it roared angrily and made a hasty attempt to stand again despite its tangled leg.

Arvian tightened his jaw. "I can't let you do that." He knew he needed to act fast before the monster could recover.

Arvian hurried to the monster's head and slashed his sword directly into its eyes with lightning-fast accuracy. The monster let out a deafening roar of pain, thrashing violently.

But before Arvian could take another step, another monster lunged at him from behind. He barely managed to dodge, rolling to the side just in time.

'Agh... How am I going to defeat this many monsters?' he thought, frustration building up.

Suddenly, a chuckle escaped his lips. "How foolish, Arvian," he muttered to himself, realizing he was forgetting something.

With renewed confidence, he charged toward the monster that had just attacked him. As he leapt into the air, a red orb of magic began to form in his hands, growing larger and brighter.

"Fireburst!" With a shout, Arvian slammed his hands into the monster's chest. The orb exploded on contact, sending the monster crashing into the nearby wall with a deafening thud.

Jaxyn, meanwhile, was enjoying himself immensely. He moved quickly and fluidly, leaping and casting spells with ease to bring down monster after monster. His excitement grew as each beast fell before him.

"Hauh! You go!" he cheered, clearly enjoying himself. He was much faster than Arvian, having already taken down nearly half of the monsters on his side.

But then, a large group of monsters suddenly charged at Jaxyn from all directions. Without hesitation, he smirked, raising both of his arms and crossing them in front of him.

"Mmuh," he murmured with a grin.

With a surge of energy, he enchanted a powerful wind spell. His hands shook violently, launching the group of monsters into all directions and sending their bodies tumbling to the ground in a heap of vanquished creatures.

"That should do it," Jaxyn said, his eyes shining with anticipation as he wiped his hands in satisfaction.

On the other hand, Arvian's just remembered that he had mastered all four elements already. Now, with a surge of confidence, he began taking down the monsters one by one.

He swung the celestial chain, its links shimmering as they sliced through the air. Half the chain disappeared into thin air with a snap, then reappeared around the ankle of a huge monster .

The monster roared in surprise as the chain yanked tight, pulling its legs from under it.

It fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Arvian's heart raced. Without missing a second, he lunged forward. His hand went to his blade, but he quickly realized the better option. With a swift gesture, he summoned his Fireburst spell. Flames begun to form around his palm, crackling with energy. The flames grew into a ferocious explosion as he thrust his hand forward, roaring in the direction of the monster's head.

The monster roared and thrashed wildly as the fire consumed its face. However, it was useless. The monster's struggles slowed and its body went limp in defeat as the flames grew hotter and more intense.

Arvian stood over the charred remains, breathing heavily, the adrenaline pumping through his veins.

He had done it.

He could feel the power that was increasing inside him as he leveled up.

"HUF! HUF! HUF!"

Breathing heavily from the battle's exhaustion, Arvian hunched over with his hands on his knees.

Both he and Jaxyn had cleared out the monsters, and now only the boss remained.

"Oi, Arvian! It was fun killing the monsters..." Jaxyn shouted, but he wasn't exhausted at all. He was walking forward casually, as if he hadn't broken a sweat.

"I really enjoyed... watching," Declan muttered from the ground, laying with his hands behind his head, clearly amazed by the battle.

Out of nowhere, with a deafening roar that shook the ground , the ogre boss emerged from the shadows, it was masive and looked more stronger than the others.

Fueled by pure rage, its bloodshot eyes glowed with fury as it charged forward, each step sending shockwaves through the ground.

"Holy Shit!...."

"It's in angry mode, interesting..." Jaxyn chuckled, his eyes narrowing with excitement. In an instant, he vanished from his spot, charging toward the boss like a flash, confident it would only take seconds for him to defeat it.

But as he neared the boss, something unexpected happened. Out of nowhere, he was slammed into the dungeon's rough wall with a loud thud, pushed back by a powerful force.
